Thank you! For the last 3 years I have struggled with high blood sugar levels. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic. I changed my diet and had some success in lowering it to pre type 2 diabetic, but was very frustrated because even cutting carbs way back to hardly any, did not bring the results I had hoped for. When I saw your video I thought "why not try it. I already have the fiber sitting in my pantry." This is day 5 and I am so very pleased to say that my blood sugar levels are where they should be......not just lower, but almost perfect. I am very thankful to say the least, but also a bit upset with my doctor that this information wasn't shared with me 3 years ago. I'm sleeping sounder and have more energy. Again, Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I was diagnosed with type II diabetes first week of Nov 2023....Doc immediately wanted to put me on Metformin....I found your channel, watched your video and told them I'm going to try diet and exercise first! Thanks to You and Your channel, my A1C went from 7.2 Nov 23 to 6.6 Feb 24.......It works!! Thank you sooooooooooooooooooo much... Love your channel :)

Comparatively, my daily reading s have come down. Can you tell me what changes you made in your diet. How do we take the fibre being mentioned in the video, other than the fruits. I am taking lot of vegetables..like broccoli, beans, cauliflower
Dr. Dave was my primary care physician at Scripps Clinic. I worked out with him at crossfit. I visited his gym. I'll be 76 years old now. I work out most days of the week. I eat a fiber supplement and take a prebiotic fiber.
He’s absolutely right. I moved my A1C from 6.4 to 5.7 in three months. I always did smoothies; both vegetables and fruit with no success. I started adding more beans and Acacia fiber and it brought my A1 down quickly after trying for years.
I make smoothies as low carb as possible, both frozen berries and frozen vegetables, small amount of frozen banana. I add in soluble fiber that can dissolve in clear liquid. Can be bought at Walmart. It's in the container with the green lid,not psyllium, which yes,you also take as well....OK, I also use unsweetened almond milk and if you Don have low carb protein powder, a finger thick slice of soft Tofu added gives you protein. Enjoy!
True. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2017. My Doctor immediately prescribed metformin. I used it once and that was enough for me. I dropped the sugar, fast food, changed my diet and take psyllium husk daily. No meds so far and I’ll be 59 next month. I also drink three cups of green tea a day and teaspoon of diluted ACV with mother before breakfast and dinner.😊

I eat twice a day, low carb on both meals. I eat one fruit between those meals. I drink green tea before bed and my A1c has been 5.3% since I was diagnosed with 11.3% A1c in 2020
I’m so grateful to have found your channel tonight. I always tried to avoid fiber with my meals in supplement form such as Metamucil or soaked Chia seed water because my doctor told me that it would cause malnutrition due to the fiber preventing the digestive tract from absorbing the nutrients in the food. I’m diabetic and will incorporate fiber supplements before my meals now. Thank you so very much! God bless you dear doctor 👏🏼
Good idea! Never thought of incorporating fiber systematically (although my Dad did for different reasons). I make up a 30 oz container of lime/beetroot-powder water every day and drink it all day long. I will see if I can blend in a tablespoon of soluble fiber and monitor the results. The fastest way to slash blood glucose is to go near zero net carb and reduce number of meals. I had my evening glucose down at 94 mg/dL and was in low ketosis recently. I stopped during Thanksgiving and will resume the regimen after Christmas. In the meantime this fiber angle may blunt the damage I am doing to my vascular system somewhat. Thanks, everything helps.
My blood sugar was 241 last night I just soaked Irani methi seeds (red in color) in water had before sleeping, morning I checked again as soon as I woke and it was 101. It really works for me everytime.

A month ago I’d been on vacation and my sugar levels had spiked to 243. The worst it had ever been. I had seen Dr. Dave video and tired it but was eating both, foods with fiber and the supplement, that made me backed up. I rewatched the video and implemented it just as he stated. For the past three weeks my sugar has dropped in the 80’s I’m extremely delighted. I’ve sent the video to my friends and family. You don’t have to have a special fiber. It can be had from Costco, etc. I must thank Dr. Dave from the bottom of my heart for such a simple video that has lasting benefits.
The benefits noted in the video are mainly with soluble fiber. Psyllium husks flakes contain mainly soluble fiber. Also inulin powder and resistant starch powder contain soluble fiber. They can can be put in a smoothie or yogurt for easy usage. Fruits and vegetables also have soluble fiber - you can find online info on their soluble v. insoluble fiber contents.
Yep this is what was needed to be differentiated. Thanks for commenting this. Very helpful. Psyllium Husks very effective. Chia seeds (teaspoon) soaked in luke warm water for 10minutes. Is also good.
Dear Dr.Clayton I came across your video today………I had seen it come up before but ignored it thinking ukh another video on diabetes cure……rubbish….and went passed it but today for some reason I decided to listen to and watch your video from start to finish! Well……..it had nothing new but the explanation was so convincing and simple to understand that I am glad in fact I am very glad that I watched it although I am vegetarian/vegan but don’t always pay attention to the amount of fibre intake ……..I will be following your advice and increasing the fibre in my diet. I am a long term diabetic, asthmatic , and hypothyroidism sufferer, I try and play it very safe with my food but still find my self being defeated oh and by the way I also suffer with very high blood pressure. So I will follow your advice very diligently and report in 4weeks time! I have also subscribed to your channel! Thank you for putting it out there so that people learn and follow if they so choose to . Sudha Prabhakar all the way from UK.🙏🏼
I am allergic to chia and flax seeds and psyllium and some fiber supplements. Bran also. We eat a lot of raw veggies plus nuts. I get help from laxative gummies. A pharmacist told me about that several years ago. Thank you always Dr. Clayton!
This is what I’ve been telling my doctor. When I have not had a regular bathroom visits my fasting sugar is higher. I’ve started a whole grain journey and my blood sugar has gone down. I’ve also lowered my cholesterol and blood pressure.
Hey Dave. Thank you for all the valuable information. I was Diagnosed with type 2 7 months ago and have been educating myself on diet, medications and anything that is pertinent to my health condition. You supply good advice and you seam genuine. I enjoy your videos and keep up the good work!
I've been taking megadoses of psyllium fiber for 25 years, I take the megadose one half hour before dinner and I eat a lot less. It Instantly satiates me and makes me feel less hypoglycemic.
need to watch out about megadoses as they can cause blockages in the gut (or choking in younger children)...........just because something is good, excess of that is not necessary
Hello dear Doctor Your lessons are really interesting and crucial, thank you so much for your excellent information,i do appreciate your job,i wish you peace and happiness under the sky of prosperity, all the best. Take care and have a good time. Your Student from Algeria
Fantastic information! Thank you for always being in front by giving superb advice! About 3 weeks ago I became interested in exactly how much protein and fiber I was getting daily eating during a normal day. How funny! Over a year ago I gave up all highly processed food, added sugar and alcohol..with a big increase in protein. I found I average 26-28 grams of fiber..and now I will add 1/2 cup beans with lunch. (My dinner is usually very very light, so I skip adding anything there. ).. this will really help boost my numbers and it is exciting to see it will actually be of such benefit!! I’m on the thinner side (115), no meds and older (76) and eating well is even more important because I’m never really hungry! This video popped up at EXACTLY the right time! Thank you so much for really driving home the importance of a whole food diet with such incredible benefits! Your channel is a huge and wonderful help. Thanks so much.
I really wanted to say how excellent are your presentations - i admire your teaching ability and sincerity! Thanks for sharing this valuable information with us. 👍💯
Thank you for this good information that I haven't heard. I'm in need of a laxative anyway, so it's good to know that fiber also lowers the blood sugars.
I always said this to myself why nobody talking about fiber. Thanks for the study. I would think adding apple cider, berberine , chromium and fiber, fasting, we have an army to control sugar.

Very little info from UA-cam has helped me in my BG control. Basically reduced refined carbs and exercise works,. Bur recently adding flax seed also works. If I add some to my morning coffee I do not ge my BG increase from caffeine. I am now adding it to all my meals.
Been doing this for 4/5 months now and , FYI My BAD Cholesterol went down almost 100 points. BUT it did nothing for my GOOD cholesterol. MY A1C went from 6.4 to 6.0 ---- Now I did do some dieting and have lost about 15 pounds '
I changed my life style eating a whole foods plant based diet. List weight removed high blood pressure and high sugar. Feel great sleep well like I am a new person. Good luck to all!
I have been doing Moringa Oliveira leaf powder, a table spoon of Chia seeds and a tea spoon of Flax seeds all mixed up. It’s been a few weeks guys and my stomach ain’t cranky anymore. And I feel just better overall. I was told by my aunt that there excellent sources of fibre. I was diagnosed with Pre-Diabetes. I also do a shot of apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water first thing. After I do these 2 drinks I wait a bit and have breakfast.
Even though I am not a Dr. nor do I play one on UA-cam, I think that is smart. I just ordered some Fiber off of Amazon and I will throw it in my coffee in the am and my ACV drink at night.
I just started Moringa as well. The many benefits are really Amazing 🤩. I’ve also been taking apple cider vinegar for over a year, Definitely helps your overall health Guaranteed!
This info is like music to my ears! I mean what an amazingly simple solution to such a grievous problem as blood sugar to carb addicts. Green beans and the stems of veggies are my easy source of fibre. So are flax, sunflower and chia seeds. I was aware of fibre, but not that they are really this amazing. I subscribe very rarely, but I subscribe to this channel just for this eye-opener of a video. Btw, thank you for mentioning how you eat your apple. Just the other day I happened to chew the seeds of an apple I was eating and got so worried to see so much online stuff detailing the poisons it contained. Phew, what a relief to know that I am not the only one given to eating the core!
One thing Im seeing by increasing fiber before eating,,, I used to eat eggs and broccoli now because of the fiber Im not hungry enough to eat the eggs, I just eat the broccoli with olive oil. Ive seen this the last 2 mornings ditched the eggs. From now on I may just prepare the broccoli after the fiber. Will update later.
Thank you doctor. I liked your suggestion. I still remember my father used to say about fibre. And he himself used used to take lots of fiber. God bless you doctor.
In June 2023 I was diagnosed with type two diabetes. At that time, I was 64 years old and probably about 50 pounds overweight. My regular doctor did prescribe metforman. And let me interject here that my regular doctor as well as another Doctor Who is holistic are both very good friends. My wife has also been a nurse for 50 years. We have seen metforeman wreck both lives and kidneys over the years. Once you get on met Forman eventually you have kidney damage and eventually you are on dialysis. I chose to go with Bernadine. Now, one year later, I have my diabetes completely under control. I have lost 50 pounds and my A1c was 5.7 at the last check. My regular doctor was amazed. Between the good Lord and my wife and Burbine life is good.
Don't forget the chia seeds.since I use it, soaking in water a couple hours and drink everyday, 2 teaspoon. I finally keep my blood glucose low in the 80s fasting test in the morning. Easy, cheap and simple but extremely effective. I struggle with blood glucose and tried different diets, including intermittent fasting 16, 18 hours daily, but nothing beat with the results after doing chia seeds the past couple weeks.
@@kanaisaha7355 I mix 2 teaspoons in a large glass of water, leave for 30 minutes and start drinking whenever during the day. I finish the last sip between dinner and bed time whenever is a good time. It helps to absorb the sugar from food to expel it out through urine. Start slowly to see how your body reacts. Some people have reactions with certain foods. Research on UA-cam about chia seeds to know more
I make chia pudding for breakfast. Enough for two-3 days - 1/2 cup chia seeds, 2 Tablespoons cacao powder (not cocoa), 1 tin coconut cream. If too thick, add some coconut water, as the consistency must be very sloppy. Add a sweetener. Mix very well to blend, then soak overnight. Dish up some mix in the morning with a good Greek yogurt and berries. This really works well for me. A delicious way to start the day right
Ok ..I am going to try a fibre supplement as part of a program of reducing blood sugar level…. It is certainly worth trying a long side a vegetarian diet Wish me luck
I just amped up my fiber in a smoothie. For the liquid I used pomegranate juice, added 1 oz of chia seed, 2 whole apples, 100% psyllium husk. Seems to be about 23 grams fiber in a smoothie. That is my preferred way , thought it might be a bit sour but it was not maybe because of the apples. Smoothie was thick ate it with a long tsp, it was more of a gel like consistency. Plan on doing this daily, result will come later.
Thanks Dr Dave! Didn't know fiber helped improve blood sugars. Will check out your website too. Appreciate your calm demeanor. Even your voice soothes. Have a great day!

Thanks for the great video doctor. Every morning I take two heap and teaspoons of psyllium fiber, inulin fiber, and raw cocoa powder. I've been doing this for about 15 years. I've had diabetes for 23 years it may even sees weren't horrible in three meds about 7. Even though I eat steak and eggs and bacon, my cholesterol and triglycerides have been almost perfect for years with only a 5 mg dose of statin. One thing I worry about is that the fiber will blunt absorption of vital nutrients, meds, and supplements. To prevent this I always wait two to three hours after taking fiber before Eating or taken meds.

Thank you very much for sharing such an amazing success story!
Please tell me which foods will give me fibers
😊sorry.got my q answered.
But I have uric acid and the vegs mentioned do not help.
This is what I was
Hoping to find. Soluble versus non-soluble fiber. Thank you.
Yep this is what was needed to be differentiated. Thanks for commenting this. Very helpful. Psyllium Husks very effective. Chia seeds (teaspoon) soaked in luke warm water for 10minutes. Is also good.
@@Hadosen Chia seeds soaked in Apple cider vinegar better still.

Dear Dr.Clayton
I came across your video today………I had seen it come up before but ignored it thinking ukh another video on diabetes cure……rubbish….and went passed it but today for some reason I decided to listen to and watch your video from start to finish!
What is your BP reading. Please share if you don’t mind . Mine is always above 145/94. I’am pre-diabetic.
Hi Sudhaprhaber, how are you doing ? Are you still following the advice of Dr Dave? Hopefully we get your report soon and you have a great day 🙂
I am allergic to chia and flax seeds and psyllium and some fiber supplements. Bran also. We eat a lot of raw veggies plus nuts. I get help from laxative gummies. A pharmacist told me about that several years ago. Thank you always Dr. Clayton!
I am working on my fiber after meals, like flaxseeds, chia seeds and psyllium seeds.
What do you consider a megadose? Thanks 😊
need to watch out about megadoses as they can cause blockages in the gut (or choking in younger children)...........just because something is good, excess of that is not necessary
@@WG7D I mix psyllium fiber with oat fiber and I take four rounded tablespoons

Thank u so much u explained very well will do it I am 65 had diebties for 12 yrs

Wow, thank you!
Thank you for this good information that I haven't heard. I'm in need of a laxative anyway, so it's good to know that fiber also lowers the blood sugars.
Thanks for your video. I ordered some fiber with your code. I wish more doctors would tell their patients this information.
I always said this to myself why nobody talking about fiber. Thanks for the study. I would think adding apple cider, berberine , chromium and fiber, fasting, we have an army to control sugar.
I found that consuming more green 🥦🥬🫑high fiber vegetables and removing simple carbs helped improve my blood sugar.
Dr. Clayton, I stumbled upon this video and I like it very much. I would give it a 10 out of 10. Well presented and professional.
Wow, thank you!

Thank you.. course correction.. Thank you doctor for lighting up a clear path and removing all the debris toward health. This info is so useful. I feel better already.. :) 😃
Not to mention that the extra bulk in your intestines promotes peristalsis therefore using up blood sugar as energy to digest and transport.
Very little info from UA-cam has helped me in my BG control. Basically reduced refined carbs and exercise works,. Bur recently adding flax seed also works. If I add some to my morning coffee I do not ge my BG increase from caffeine. I am now adding it to all my meals.
The best news for my diabetic. let us know what supplemental fiber to take. Thank you,
Great question! I left a link in the description. My favorite is psyllium 👍
Dic your videos are quick, full of data supported info and broken down so us laymen understand. Thank you!
Thank you for watching! Appreciate the feedback.
Video is easy to understand! Thank you!
Great information !! Which fiber should you take? Soluble or insoluble? I couldn't find the links for the supplements.
Been doing this for 4/5 months now and , FYI My BAD Cholesterol went down almost 100 points. BUT it did nothing for my GOOD cholesterol. MY A1C went from 6.4 to 6.0 ---- Now I did do some dieting and have lost about 15 pounds '
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.
@@johnlozauskas778Try Acacia fiber. You thank me later.
That’s fantastic. Just remember on the flaxseed that it needs to be crushed flaxseed because the body can not absorb a whole flax seed.
@@brahmmauer7437 this is key!!
Lol, thank you for the compliment! And keep enjoying those apples :)
Thanks Doctor for such an valuable information . Love ❤ from Pakistan ❤. Mumtaz Ali & Family
Sounds very convincing. I will try it out.
Thank you doctor. I liked your suggestion. I still remember my father used to say about fibre. And he himself used used to take lots of fiber. God bless you doctor.
Thanks for sharing and watching!
Just this 1 advice is enough to keep my healthy. Well expounded!
Please address effectiveness of soluble vs insoluble fiber. Thanks
I struggle with blood glucose and tried different diets, including intermittent fasting 16, 18 hours daily, but nothing beat with the results after doing chia seeds the past couple weeks.
whether you are drinking it before meal or after meal?

I mix 2 teaspoons in a large glass of water, leave for 30 minutes and start drinking whenever during the day. I finish the last sip between dinner and bed time whenever is a good time. It helps to absorb the sugar from food to expel it out through urine. Start slowly to see how your body reacts. Some people have reactions with certain foods. Research on UA-cam about chia seeds to know more
I didn't worked for me. Chia seed first time cause frequent time to go to
latrine and second time gas in Intestines with burning sensation.
A delicious way to start the day right
Chia seeds is super good
Thank you very much. This is the best video and information on lowering blood sugar.
Ok ..I am going to try a fibre supplement as part of a program of reducing blood sugar level….
It is certainly worth trying a long side a vegetarian diet
Wish me luck

I just amped up my fiber in a smoothie. For the liquid I used pomegranate juice, added 1 oz of chia seed, 2 whole apples, 100% psyllium husk. Seems to be about 23 grams fiber in a smoothie. That is my preferred way , thought it might be a bit sour but it was not maybe because of the apples. Smoothie was thick ate it with a long tsp, it was more of a gel like consistency. Plan on doing this daily, result will come later.
OK the premium husk is sweetened with stevia, guess I will deal with that and take the fiber.
OK my mistake on using the pomegranate , it will be water from now on, good thing I had all the fiber which slowed it but still 166 1 hour after.
Thank you Dr.Dave for sharing in the importance of adding a little fuber to our diet and helping to save lives ! God bless you and your family .✨🙏🏽
Glad it was helpful!
That is very interesting, thank you. I use Acacia fibre every day, is that as good as the Psyllium husk that you show? Thank you !!
Thanks Dr Dave! Didn't know fiber helped improve blood sugars. Will check out your website too. Appreciate your calm demeanor. Even your voice soothes. Have a great day!
This is almost miraculous, just by eating fiber rather than injecting insulin. Praise the LORD 🙏
I tried taking this fiber but had to stop because I could not control the trips to the bathroom 2 or three time a day and my glucose did not drop.
I just realised I am diabetic did not know an try using cinnamon ginger neems etc an I believe the high fibre is important beans etc

Great info. Fiber and intermittent fasting has worked for me. For fiber, I take psyllium husk powder. I have noticed the fiber has brought my blood sugar down considerably whereas my intermittent fasting only did so much. Thanks for the solid information. Fiber is often the forgotten juggernaut to drive down insulin and blood sugar levels. APTTMHY
Completely agree, fiber is often forgotten. Thanks for your comment and your support.
Great Stuff! So common sense and easy, and something I had never heard before in all the discussions of pre-diabetes, which is my concern. Thank you for putting this out there!
