Joey Tempest, the lead singer, wrote this song when he was 17 years old! He’ll soon be 57 and can still sing it just as good! Great song!
The greatest.........!!!!!!!!!!!
Pureest energy
Remember, the singer, Joey Tempest, is singing in his second language
Yess... It's true... I'm watch from Johor Malaysia..
@anonymous one amen to that
@anonymous one Most of the hairband guys were..lol
Listen to takida
Happy Birthday Joey Tempest (8/19)
I'm 48, a big fan of Europe and still can't believe this came out in 1986. it's a powerhouse of a song.
You need an Oscar bro theres no way you've never heard this
The smile at the beginning as the intro started gives it away for me.
Agree. He start to say "They should start every consert with this song". So how he know about it?
He never said that he (n)ever heard the song, you dumbasses. It's just written in the title, maybe he wanted to trigger some genius smartasses like u
No way this is your first time hearing this classic!
I was thinking the excact same thing!
Blacks in America hate white ppl...its like they dont want to be there
@@Balkanjeros1 my man, theres help for that sort of thinking..
@@MetalRob81 yeah, it's called the truth. Truth, shall set you free
@@Balkanjeros1 while there may be plenty of evidence of what you're saying, I don't see how this comment led you to this response. Obviously King ktf doesn't feel that way. He's a great Ambassador for everyone. I'm an Uber driver and I see a lot. Don't let the news fool you, not everyone feels that way. The media is invested in controversy and separatism. Such a damn shame. But there are plenty that feel that way for sure, unfortunately. We need to be together, not divided and segregated. The attitude you speak of just makes people want to be more racist on both sides of the coin. We all have to fight this urge at some points in our life unfortunately. Stay strong and be a good example my friend
Europe is my teenage band... Love the final countdown ❤️
This is PEAK 80's arena rock anthems....
No good or bad, it just defines a genre.
I don't believe anyone hasn't heard this song before.
Same here
Stoled comment
probably he had never heard the full song !
Same
Same here!!
This song gets played at sports events and stuff a lot.
Mostly was played in the 90's and slowly faded
It is also the theme song of the greatest magician ever.
@Nick Mordowanec was the "Bad Boys" era Pistons introduction song.
Not with the words.
@@mysredeyes lol yesss
And Europe live Cherokee song 2018. Still amazing after all these years. Dude, they are iconic!
Lead singer! Joey Tempest...Guitarist John Norum…..killer band, must do more!
Bass: John Levén, Drums: Ian Haugland Keyboard Mic Michaeli.
they still rock ! :)
The most iconic keyboard riff ever, closely followed by Van Halen - Jump
try Guffria with Angel
Dire Straits - Walk Of Life is also pretty great. A different music genre though, not straight up rock.
@@361metal I love Giuffria and House of Lords!
Axel F
"Jump" would definitely be first.
The best song in the world!! I love Europe! Joey tempest is the best! 💪❤🇦🇷
Over 30 years later and i still listen to Europe. Love their music.
It is an incredible song, which still endures in time with much success, I loved your reaction to listening to it, Europe is a legendary band that is still very active in the world of rock music !!! Amazing musicians!!!
I remember when this song was played on Michael Jordan''s intro before the game starts. You propably are young to remember. Even today at least here in Europe the song played in many games.
By the way the band is from Sweden
Man, we need your "HOLD ON BRUUUUUUH", "Finish Him!", "Fatality!" etc back!! That was epic!
Yeah man, I miss that. I always looked forward to the "hold on bruh!"s.
Agree!
Yeah what happened? We want that back... made him unique
The dude kinda change his style :/
Yeah man, I love that shit
Listen to Rebel Yell by Billy Idol. Fantastic song!
hell yeah
And "white wedding" while youre at it...
Agreed
White wedding..
Yes! I watched another reactor react to "Rebel yell" the other night and it made me like it all over again.
I saw them in concert. The played this song at the end for the second time. The vibes it gives you are epic and you go home with that.
John Norum is the most underrated guitarist of the metal genre IMO.
100%
One of my Favorite Guitar Solos!
The 80's......best music, movies and hair!!!
There are still amazing music around, but the media have blacked out everything that is not bulk shit
"They are not fuckin' around no more" lol, love it! That vibe you're describing, trying to name, is called Epic xD
This tune was absolutely massive way back in ‘86. Europe had a
few classic songs (mainly from this album), but they never peaked like ‘The Final Countdown’ ever again.
Worth checking out their songs ‘Cherokee’, ‘Rock The Night’, Carrie’, ‘Ninja’ and ‘On Broken Wings’. All pretty solid choices.
It was played in Rocky IV😂
This was one of my favorite bands growing up lol
Seriously, what scene? I have just rewatched the whole film because of you... :-D
The song wasn't featured anywhere.
I've gone to hundreds of concerts here in WI. Sometimes a bands performance can be hit or miss, but Europe sounded even better live! I saw them at Alpine Valley in 1988, they opened for Def Leppard. Awesome show.
I rarely comment on videos, but wanted you to know that this channel has become a favorite. Your journey since the start has been a joy to see. Your excitement, honest opinions and enjoyment shines through! When you're experiencing the music I like or bands I've seen, it reminds me of why I liked their music to begin with. I haven't heard this particular one in 30 years! Total flashback, Lol. I love all types of music, yet you've still managed to open my eyes to music I hadn't heard before. Thanks for that! Looking forward to the next video.
1987 , Greece won the Eurobasket tournament and that song was playing over and over inspiring a whole nation to push our players to win it . It become like a national anthem !!! Damn great song
Hello very good.
It's a joy that the music of the 80s continues to cross borders and make Europe fall in love in many ways and are still active with their latest album Walk the Earth that came out in 2017, so they continue to show how great they are. Congratulations on having loved the song The Final Countdown, a great anthem for Europe. Greetings from Spain.
Reality is, The Final Countdown is a damn masterpiece 🤘
This was/is the greatest song to play in scandinavia at 11.55 pm at new years eve !! :)
It has over 30 years behind it so LEGENDARY definitely suits it. And the song has a great deal of energy behind it.
Yasssss! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!!!! Eff that, I love the whole cd! And YES it’s easily in my top 10!
Thank you for reviewing this & hopefully you’ll do more from their catalogue :)
This is one of my favourite rock songs ever... I love catchy classics! They have another really catch upbeat song called "Rock The Night" that's bangin but I think you'd like either of their 2 ballads called "Carrie" or "Open Your Heart"
Glad you finally found Europe!!
It’s an awesome iconic song by Europe. I was constantly jamming to it in the 80’zzz....it’s in my top 20 songs bro....check out Cherokee, Open Your Heart, Carrie & Rock the Night by these guys. All kick ass songs 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Sweden delivered back then...Roxette, Europe,Björn skifs (guardian of the galaxy song) etc
ABBA ?
Meh.
Nelson, Ace of Base
They still do. It comes more good music out of sweden than from alot of countries who have over 10x the population LOL
Example of new swedish music that dont suck.
ua-cam.com/video/XhepwtKR5lg/v-deo.html
The ultimate irony.. this is a cover from a other swedish band
I played this intro on my boom box before hitting the ball court to hype myself up real talk 100% I would lace up my kicks jamming this!
Europe is still releasing albums one of their latest is an awesome song walk the earth
Love the 80’s hair bands. These groups just had fun and made some good music too
It's all I listen to
I think this was called glam metal (not making fun of it)
@@BrotherDave144 that was only in the very beginning it. It fell over into hair metal when the make-up stopped. Probably cause it burns your eyes when you get sweaty. I wear it maybe once a year
Andrea Deamon nice! Thanks for the info. yeah I always have my metal hair only cut it like once every 3-4 years
@@BrotherDave144 same here. Last haircut I got was about 4 years ago and because a simple thing she knotted my hair up so badly - it was our only choice. Now I trim maybe 1/4 of an inch twice a year. My hair is almost to my waist but the 80s natural curls have it up about 4 inches. I get nice comments on it often. Helps me keep it going.
This was the song that got me into hair metal! When it was released! I'm old. It's so awesome when you do metal songs man, because it reminds we metal heads, old or young, why we love the genre. Thank you for that.
I've heard this song a million times. This had to be the first time I actually LISTENED to it. Amazing.
I remember seeing this on MTV for the first time. Hearing that keyboard fill at the start and knowing about the Cold War, it was intense for my fifteen year old mind.
How have you honestly never heard this?!
That what i say
LOL......i know cause it's been out since 1986? LOL.
Hadn't always listened to rock
he did, dont be idiots pls.
It’s that this title gets him more money.
This is a stadium anthem all around the world and it's thrashed every new years eve🤔
The lyrics are just timeless...
You're smile at the beginning gives it away...
Love your enthusiasm! Thank you for recognizing music I grew up with from the the greatest decade in history! You sir, are awesome!
Preston listens to I Remember You, from skid Row, Sebastian Bach has an amazing voice
Or Youth gone wild
Yeah, skid row could be worth diving into.
I agree with Youth Gone Wild
Amazing band! Love Sebastian
or even "18 to Life"
I've said this too!!
The guitarist of this band at that time, John Norum, is a monster. He left the band a couple time after the release of this song and his solo work is insane. Also his work on the Don Dokken album Up From the Ashes is mindblowing.
Whoah, man! I'm surprised you never heard this song. It's still being played everywhere to this day. Mainly on sport events, but radios also play it. This is an iconic song of the '80s. The biggest hit of 1986. And one of the biggest hits ever.
This and Asia’s “Heat if the moment” have never been seen in the same room together
Haha, love it! Great review of Europe, my favourite band from my home town Stockholm, Sweden!
This was an massive in the 80's especially during sporting events . I think there still big in Europe
Dokken ...It's Not Love!! Killer Video!!
Alone again is also a great one
NFL did it in the 90's a lot. Pearl Jam Black Unplugged. Eddie Vedder s best vocals. You gotta hear it.
Dan Mccurdy nah man, I’m not ready to be crying...
Europe is still going to this day. They have released their 10th studio album last year. Steve Perry has no business touching this song what so ever. Europe is: Joey Tempest-lead singer, John Norum-guitar; John Leven-bass, Mic Michaeli-keyboards, and Ian Haugland-drums. Check out their new stuff from Start from the Dark to the newest album Walk the Earth.
Doesn't matter how many times u listen to this song. It always gives me goosebumps
You need to try Europe "Rock the Night" if you haven't yet.
Joey Tempest looks the same now as he did in the Eighties. You should listen to "Wanted Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I heard that song in the 1991 during a home game Detroit piston s basketball games.and since then i was like that beat is amazing.it took me a long time to find that song.and Europe final countdown is my favorite rock and roll song along with nirvana smells like teen spirit.word up son
3:45 we all said that when we first heard it in the 80s... it made me smile to hear that sentiment again haha ☺👍
joey Tempest was vocals, and they are from Sweden
Still is
In a time before Sweden turned into a Marxist-feminist shit show of a country.
My favorite band ever !!! Joey Tempest was my hero when I was growing up. Greetings from Italy
@Chuck Lovejoy Or his real name: Joakim Larsson. :)
You can react to Carrie by Europe! It’s amazing!❤️
And Cherokee..that one stuck with me..
Rock the Night, Superstitious, Open your Heart, Prisoners in Paradise. Those are good too
Try Love chaser.
This is actually several sports teams intro song when entering the stadium 😂 Guaranteed to get the crowd hype 💪🏻
sweet memories...this song was adopted by Greek Basketball National Team back in 1987 in the European Basketball Championship in Athens...in every game of the Greek team this song was played loud ....in the final game against Russia where we won the game and got the gold medal, the Stadium was blown up by this song ... you could hear it in every street for about a month!!!...although the band didn't have the expected development, I still hear this song with nostalgia today ..it's an epic song!!...i suppose that many athletic events used this song from then on...
If you're staying in the 80s need to react to Quiet Riot Metal Health (Bang your head)
Quiet Riot "the wild And the young"
YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We’re not gonna take it.
The singer is Rolf Magnus Joakim Larsson. Or more famously known
as Joey Tempest.
That fucking solo is legendary, so epic it sounds like a classical masterpiece from the middle age, top 10 for sure
Joey actually wrote that keyboard intro many years before they wrote the song. He sat on it and didn’t know what to do with it all that time. Turned out to be one of the most well known pieces of music written!!
Preston, the Palace of Auburn Hills used to play this when the "Bad Boys" Pistons would hit the court.
Try Sebastian Bach of Skid Row doing I Remember You....that man has some pipes 😁
Yes!!!
Seriously? First time? This is a CLASSIC! Keep it going BRAAAAAH!
This song IS legendary. It IS in top ten throughout history. I was born 1979 & heard a few...
If you like this and want more stadium rock listen to some Skid Row. 18 & life or some Winger-17, or Bonham-Wait for You.
lead singer, Joey Tempest and he still performs this song! just as awesome!!
Hands down one of the prettiest bands in rock history. Must be that Viking DNA. 😜
@king ktf / Preston - this video reaction was shared on Europe's drummer and bass player official FB pages and also the bass player shared it on his personal account...
Great Video!
Yeah starting to doubt some of these “never heard”
Fr this wack
USA and Europe are quite different lol
How do you know, maybe he hasn't or hasn't realized what he was hearing.... hmmm
‘starting’
@Dahoss i think Europeans listen more music from the USA than the other way round.
Bro... I'll Never Let You Go by Steelheart and Long Way to Love by Britney Fox. They're what the 80's were all about.
Hell yeah!!!!
Yesssssss
Every new years party plays this song during the countdown. How could you not have heard this before?
John Norum.. Majestic guitarist 🔥🔥
Please listen to "SHOW ME HOW TO LIVE" or "COCHISE " by "AUDIOSLAVE"
Thank you 😎😎😎
@DabberDan thanks
I wouldn't be mad at any Audioslave right about now. That scream in the vid of Cochise, the more bluesy I am the Highway or Getaway Car, the great story in Exploder, or whatever. I'm down for any of it😃
@@wheresatari6242 😂🤘
Or Cochise, that’s the most epic scream ever lol
@@tricko8000 yeah..true mate
Why you don't say "HOLD ON BRUUUUUH" anymore? :(
For real
I think he just doesn't want to over-use it and say it for the really epic moments.
@@NoActuallyGo-KCUF-Yourself yeah but he never says it. I haven't heard it in so long.
That's what I'm saying! Bring that shit back and the kingdom hearts melody at the beginning before the "Break. It. Down."
He just doesn’t do it when listening to garbage music.
Its on every basketball game practically. But this is amazing good for you I loved this in 87
How have you not heard that before? It’s iconic. This Swedish band always rocks
Bruh. Do Scorpions "Wind of change" and "Send me an Angel" in one setting. You will win over a lot of rock/metal heads. You will enjoy that. New double day recording. Pick a day and watch them click lol Salute 07
power ballads = what really killed off that genre lol how some scorps songs that rock
PLEASE REACT TO
Focus - Hocus Pocus (Live '73)
That's an excellent idea! Great instrumental...
Gary Hoey does it much better.
That's an awesome performance
It was used in A LOT of soccer programs and sports programs in Europe in the 80s and 90s. It is awesone!
Actually, King, EUROPE DID start AND end their concerts with that song for 2 years, from 1986-1988. The full song would lead off, and then a 1 minute, 10 second short version would conclude the whole concert.
King, WWE's Daniel Bryan used that song in Ring of Honor.
And also, the Detroit Pistons used that as one of their intro theme songs when the players for the Pistons hit the court.
For the record, King, the lead singer's name is Joey Tempest. The guitar player is John Norum. The bass player is John Leven. The keyboard player is Mic Michaeli. And the drummer is Ian Haugland.
EUROPE as a band has been active for 40 years as of the time this message was typed. They released 5 albums from 1983-1991, went on hiatus for 12 years(minus a one-off reunion on Dec. 31, 1999), got back together on Oct. 2, 2003, and have released 6 more albums since.
This song came out, on it's own, on Feb. 14, 1986 in Sweden(EUROPE's home nation), and on May 26, 1986 on the album that is named after this song.
Just the Tale of the Track and the band for you, King. And I'm glad to help in that respect for you. =)
And also since we're talking 80's music? You should check out?
Ratt's "Lay It Down" one best guitar riff intros of all time...Trust 🎸🔥🎸🔥🔥🙏👍
I Love how this is the first time that you're hearing this song😊 But I'm from Sweden and my dad opened up for this band once when I was little so maybe that's why I always have known who they are. But I thought this song was big around the world.
It's just so god damn catchy.
There's heavy metaphysical implications in these lyrics. Us returning to source energy together but once we go back to being one thing, all dualities with end. There will be no "other", literally or figuratively.
I loved Joey Tempest when I was a teen lol love them pretty boys
Please do Danzig - Mother
He's done it
She rides. Mother is so over played.
@@MrBigMSG Waaaaay overrated. Danzigs How The Gods Kill
@@danielkinn782 honestly, danzig is over rated. He should've stayed with the misfits.
Dude this was probably the biggest hit worldwide 'tween 86 and smells like teen spirit (91).
I'm glad you had goosebumps, got to respect my childhood lol.
Shoutout from Italy, keep up with the great work !
I loved the Seal theme that you used to have to introduce the rock gods :)
It’s a stone cold rock classic, still sounds awesome.
We are getting closer and closer to a UA-camr reacting to Poison nothin but a good time official video .. I just know it! Lol great reaction.
Love this song but Bro, when are you reacting to some Mötley Crüe?!!! (I highly recommend Kickstart my heart)
I second this song! It must happen!!!
Anything by Motley.
Danger by motley crue
Wild side would be great too
Preston reacted to Crue's primal scream
They did.... in 1987... haven’t toured in years. It is legendary... they’re still using it in commercials. Wether you liked rock or not... most have heard this song somehow. The lead singer is Joey Tempest... the group is from Sweden... English is their Second language!!
Aint nothing like the 80s the digital days... the party tell you drop days... Epic music from all rock n roll...metal.. Hair band... Slow rock. This was the main stuff on the radios. Rock was on top of the mountain... I love all 80s rock in roll.
Eruption (live) by Eddie VanHalen....
He did that one
Julie Lovelace ... I can’t find it ???!!
@@trmdude5738 you know I'm sorry it was another reaction channel. I had my people mixed up. Sorry. Definitely he needs to react to Eddie
