LAHSO is a clearance issued to an airborne aircraft that is capable of participating in land and hold short operations. After landing,, an "IF ABLE" does not constitute any more than a normal runway exit or further instructions. The "IF ABLE" can be followed with " Unable" or silence if you are still getting your aircraft safely slowed......This happens when a close proximity to a crossing runway occurs when aircraft are unable to participate, but will more than likely not require to cross the intersection...
Agree 100%. The only reason I said that is I had just asked the tower on short final if he needed us to LAHS to which he replied “negative, you are good to go.” All was good either way as we had plenty of runway to stop and exit before the intersection. Thanks for watching and for the comments!
@@phillypilot it is more than likely that your type of aircraft has not yet been qualified for LAHSO.. So controller was not able to issue one even if you say you can. The work around... as it were is to understand how much roll you need and to do what they did.. The change in plan.. was never a change...just the work around
