- If you're looking for a sign to go to Oshkosh...this is it! Today, we start our cross-country adventure in the Bonanza to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for EAA AirVenture 2022 (yes, this was my trip from last year!). AirVenture is a week-long fly-in and airshow that happens every July with over 10,000 airplanes at 600,000 people! In Part 1, we'll fly from Santa Paula, California to Liberal, Kansas through 100 degree heat, around thunderstorms, and over mountains. Chris and I meet up with Hannah and Graham along the way!
This is the first trip with my new Garmin panel installed by Neal Aviation (www.nealaviati... )! The Bonanza was on display at the Garmin Tent at EAA AirVenture 2022 and will be again this year at AirVenture 2023 - come say hi!
Thank you for watching!

I hope you enjoy the new vlog! Who's going to Oshkosh this year for EAA AirVenture 2023? I'll see you there - I have a big surprise in store, stay tuned!
I will be going! Hoping to see you there!
Sounds like it'll be a blast! Would love to go... but Wisconsin is a bit of a drive from Utah. :)
That's so cool! Im going too. From Socal
Hey Stevie..... Don't you mean OSHKOSH 2023 instead of OSHKOSH 2022 like the intro says on the video?
Hello Hello! Tally-ho! N5921C in sight once again, said hi to you in flight on my way to pick up a charter in my CJ3+ @BUR. So jealous, couldn't make OSHKOSH last year gonna be there this year for the whole event. You must plan a trip to COA, Columbia Airport, Tuolumne County, California. So beautiful and so close to much to do.
I’m an old fellow who can confirm what old folks before me have said. The only impediments to a fulfilling life are your regrets. I’ve had a wonderful life, and I have regrets. Among them is lacking the confidence and courage to do what you are doing at your age. I do get joy from watching you live your life, pursuing your love for flying, and embracing the adventure. Live well Stevie!! Fly safe!!!
...regrets and money... let's be pragmatic.
@@oak6636 True Money is a big factor in limiting what you can achieve in life.
Stevie's back, Stevie's back!!! I REALLY ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS 😊
She's back, back again!!! Thank you so much, hope you enjoy the latest vlog!
I just imagine all these pilots in small planes flying toward Oshkosh, and the commercial pilots are all like "Ahhh the yearly migration has begun!"
So cool! Recently I've been really interested in flying and your videos just motivate me to actually do it! You do it effortlessly and beautifully! Keep the videos coming ☺
Thank you so much!! That's great to hear, I started flying because of a post I saw on social media so comments like this always make me smile! More videos on the way!
@@bayflight I saw one of your videos on Snapchat, and I was like "That's so cool! I want to do that!"I took my first discovery flight in late October and absolutely loved it.
Great to see a full-length video Stevie! One thing I absolutely love about your flying is your radio calls. You are a Controller’s dream! Your calls are bright, crisp, easy to understand and spot-on! Thanks for making this and looking forward to part 2!
And she always thanks them and bids them a good day!
Love your new Garmin panel, makes a huge difference for small GA planes😊
Thank you so much! It's a huge safety improvement!
Watching these videos sent me down a path of trying to learn radio communications because I didn't understand a thing 😅 Now everything makes sense when it comes to VFR
but I'm really impressed with the speed at which all the little details are processed by both the pilots and ATC. Also reading the maps can be confusing so that definately takes
practice...planning your flight, then making adjustments along the way depending on the conditions and the instructions from ATC. One of the most rewarding things for me
though is hearing everyone working together to keep things safe. Also there's so much clarity in your voice that it's an absolute joy to listen to. I love these flight videos 👍
Hi....thought I was going to bed 45 mins ago, but spotted this. Thanks and safe travels!!!
Love, love, love watching you fly! I am old, but remember flying with my uncle in his 1948 Beach Bonanza and my dad had a 182 Cesna high wing!
I love watching this! ❤😊
What a fantastically skilled young pilot! Well done
I love your videos! It would be nice to maybe have some videos on how you got into aviation and all the FAQs on training and the cost of everything from getting your place, and what the expenses are like for first timers. I think you’re an inspiration to young people who want to learn to fly and it would be cool to learn your story.
Fantastic; very professional; great for us non US pilots to check if we are ready - language wise - to fly in the US: you speak fast! If we understand everything you say, we are ready😀
Glad to see you back in the air . I have certainly missed your ''Have A Good Ones''
Thank you so much for taking us on your trip.
I really enjoy watching you fly.
Safe travels to you and your friend.
Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
Thanks for the ride kids! Very gracious of you. See you in Oshkosh B-😃gosh!
As always I soo enjoy your videos Stevie. In my early days of my aviation career I flew many hours in Bonanzas and when I saw you reach up and push on the upper part of the door on your checklist I said "yup! She is definitely a Bonanza pilot"
Hooray Stevie glad you are back, we loved your journey looking forward to Part 2...Love from the UK.
I really respect your non-complacency, always saying and doing procedures.
Always love your videos Stevie! Looking forward to following this series as you fly to Oshkosh…safe travels!
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the new vlog!
@@bayflightBtw, love the new panel! That Autopilot is so cool!
Love that panel too. It's a great blend of modern and vintage.
So glad you are still putting videos out of your flights...
Your music choices are always so vibey… can’t wait for part 2 this was a great surprise I really enjoy your videos. The new panel looks great too 🙌
Your checklists and radio chatter are /oddlysatisfying material. Always enjoy your videos!
Thank you so much!! Hope you enjoy the new vlog, lots of radio chatter on SoCal approach at the beginning
So nice to see you posting new videos Stevie. I have missed you and have been wishing you would start posting regular videos every week if you can. Have a safe flight and keep safe. Can't wait for the big surprise. On the edge of my seat...lol
The night footage is an absolute vibe, another relaxing and fun video!
That dash is an amazing upgrade from the original.
Thrilling.
Now the plane itself became a much better tool.
Ground light, "look at me"💡 option working "insanely" well.🧚🌞🌛
So happy to see a new video posted! Lots of motivation for my future aviator daughters. ❤
Love to hear it!! ♥️ I hope you enjoyed the video, thank you so much for watching!
Soloed 54 years ago. Got my instrument rating while in college. Make the effort to keep yours current. It will let you keep going during times of the year when the visibility is below minimums.
Something else you could consider is a tablet based application that has airport layouts and other details. Lufthansa uses it and it really makes flight planning and ground navigation easy. Love your flying. You are really good! More please.
My solo was in 1966 and my IFR rating in 1970. My best time was mountain flying with glaciers landing all across the Alps in the early 70’s. This qualification was my most enjoyable rating. As everything else in life you need to make decisions based on priorities: Move to a flat country, sell the airplane due to expenses and time to fly then quit flying for other recreational activities more enjoyable to your family members.
And off you go again! You flew right over my home town of Fillmore, CA. Old memories.
I love that your panel is modern/vintage. Perfection!
Always a pleasure to fly with you Stevie.
Thank you! Hope you enjoyed the new video!
I seriously am so intrigued! I can’t stop watching your videos
Great to see a new vid from you, your a true pro there in the left seat. Also your excitement on the new avionics really shows glad your enjoying them. Don't think you stopped smiling on the first leg of your trip. Take care be safe and Howdy from Michigan.
Beautiful
Glad to see a new video! Finally!!! Keep flying, Stevie!
LOVE your videos ! we need more !
Thank you! I have a few more coming out before Oshkosh - been working on a BIG surprise for y'all the past few months!
YOU FINALLY POSTED AGAIN!!! YAYY
I'm a freight train engineer in Europe and I love the world of transport in general. My second choice in life would've been aviation. I always watch your videos with pleasure, I'm glad to see a new one today! 😊
Paolo
I absolutely LOVE THE PANEL!!!!!!!!! Good job keeping it old school AND the radio placement too! Your a 12!!!!!
I am impressed at how quickly you’re learning that new panel. As a steam gauge, die myself, mostly in rental aircraft, I’m intimidated by glass panels for sure. But you seem to be getting the hang of it. Keep flying high!
Piano ... 😂
Had to watch a second time. Great adaptation to the new Garmin Instruments. Your flying is perfection. I'll fly with you anytime
Thank you so much for watching, Larry! So glad you enjoyed the video and I really appreciate the kind words.
Stevie, you are Nailing those landings!
YAAAAAAAAY ur back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so good to see you making the flying content again =]
Hey, it's about time for a new video from you. Adventurous and exciting. Thanks for excellent video.
Great channel! This brings back so many memories of my childhood. My father was a private pilot. We flew mostly Cessna 180’s. A good friend of his had a Bananza, however the tail was horizontal. I remember flying to a good sized fly-in at Marion OH. nothing like Oshkosh, but seeing the flying videos and hearing the cross chatter is awesome. Can you do a segment on the engine compartment on your Beechcraft? Keep up the great videos
Great to see you! Your videos are the best!😎
Thank you so much, Mike!
42 mins just flew by (pun intended). So great to see you again, Stevie! I'm definitely gonna stay tuned for this trip! Safe skies always! ✨
Always enjoy your videos. Just an amazing pilot and influence on many young folks.
Great to see you back. The panel looks Amazing. Beautiful flight. Have fun!!!!!
Hey Stevie, love all of your videos especially Oshkosh 2022. You’ve been such an inspiration to me and my son who by the way just did his solo flight July 3, 2023.
Can’t wait for part two of Oshkosh 2023. We’re planning on going up this year. Hopefully will see you and get an autograph. Keep the videos coming, have a good one.
I have been wanting to become a pilot and your videos have helped me so much I hope you know how big of a inspiration you are.
Muito bom ver você postando vídeos novamente, não pare, seus vídeos são bons demais. Show. Thanks.
Hi Capt. Stevie
Im a Veteran USAF an FAA AP technician a Private Pilot SEL and a F-15 Technician retired from Boeing. Just to let you know we enjoy your and can’t wait to see the upgrade videos videos
by the way we own a KR-2 in building progress .
God Bless you
Aviles Family
So glad you and 21C will be at the Garmin tent again this year!!! Didn't make it to AirVenture last year but I will be there this year! Hope to meet you and Graham!🙂
Awesome!! Can't wait to see you there! Graham, 21C and I will all be there - as well as a new special guest 😉 stay tuned!
What a fun video. After watching this I noticed for the 1st time you execute insanely smooth landings! Just awesome. Hope you do a vid for this years trip so we can compare as you will have another years experience with the new panel & autopilot.
I love the fact it's only 1.5 hours drive to Oshkosh for me. I love going there. Have a safe flight. Maybe we will run into each other
That new panel is SICK! BTW, has a real vintage vibe and so essentially functional, well done. The whole cabin appears so fresh, has it all been done as well?
Thank you so much! I think the interior was done recently (past 10-15 years) but we didn't redo it when we did the panel. Neal Aviation did do some painting on the interior and they fixed some pieces that were falling apart but the actual interior isn't new new
I find this a really relaxed and enjoyable vlog - you're a real pro Stevie!
It's great to see you. Continued safe travels to you
Nice to see you again on UA-cam stevie, fun to watch your aircraft adventures, much love ✌️❤️🇬🇧
Great as always Stevie. Love your content! Hope you have a wonderful time in Oshkosh.
As a Mooney pilot, it’s crazy how narrow the Bo is but at the same time how damn tall that cabin is! Looks like you can stand up and fly that thing
I love it when fans say hi to you on the radio. Does that happen all the time now?
So glad you're back posting. I was missing this content. Also I liked how you use to vlog outside the plane on your travels. Hoping we can see more of that in the future too
I love the music you put in your video. Makes me want to go flying.....
I always enjoy your videos! A joy to fly with you. I've flown in to Carefree in July, before. Yep, it is scorching. You brought a big smile to me on your climb out from ALB. I thought I was the only one who patted the instrument panel for a job well done. Nice to give props back to the bird.
BTW, nothing wrong with "insane" bright lights. Definitely want to be seen, but it is nice to have a clear view of the tarmac after dusk! Nothing finer than a Bo! Smooth air to you...
So glad to see you post again. So fun to see you fly in your beautiful Bonanza. Wish I had been the one to fly with you. That is my dream! Waiting for more videos. Thanks for sharing.
That modern panel with classic design looks sooo good.
Thanks for bringing us along
Extremely professionally recorded and edited. Thank you.
I love your videos
Awesome to see you flying again! Although, can't recall seeing you this distracted before 😂
Wow, you can see that LED from space! They did a great job with your plane. Look forward to part II.
A buddy of mine flew his sweet F1 Rocket down to Oshkosh from Canada last year. Even brought home a well deserved trophy. I'd sure love to attend one year just to say I've been there, but until then, I just live vicariously through my GA friends....lol.
That new panel looks great. I could never have imagined that would turn out so well. You must be over the top thrilled with it now.
finally another video !! got my popcorn ready
Hey Stevie! Yet another well edited, well produced video. I love how the center controller recognised your voice (and efficiency). Looking forward to part two. Stay safe and happy flying Stevie! London Mike.
Great Flight and love the Bonanza can not wait for part 2
FINALLY, What a difficult 6 months without entertainment
😂😂 Good things come to those who wait!! Kidding haha, sorry for the delay. Got a BIG surprise coming on the channel before Oshkosh (hence not posting). Stay tuned!
Be sure I WILL
was thinking same thing
Is this from last year? In the video you say let’s fly to Oshkosh 2022
@@loganmanderle8572I believe so, since Oshkosh 2023 hasn't even happened yet.
Thank you for sharing, Stevie. Your CRM was excellent. Kudos to you both. I am just beginning my Part 61 training and you are excellent motivation!👍
That last shot in the sunset! So awesome!!!
What a timely video. Thank you and nice flying. We’ll be there this year! Love that panel too congrats
Great video!! Enjoy watching the adventures!!
You make it look so easy and fun!
Crazy coincidence! I was just thinking about this channel yesterday. I was just like: " Well...I guess Stevie ghosted us!" Glad you came back to show us some love on youtube! I'm sure you're busy but thanks for the vid!
😂😂 Hope you enjoy the new video! Sorry it took so long 😅 have a few edited and ready to go over the next few weeks!
Loved your video flying on the way to OshGosh. I've missed see your flying.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video, hoping to post more frequently!
I haven't been in a plane since I was 18 months old. I don't even like planes. Yet I find your videos compelling viewing. Well done for what it's worth!!
I'm glad to hear you enjoy the videos! More on the way soon!
Excellent content and editing, I very much enjoyed your flight and can’t wait for the 2nd installment. Thanks for sharing.
That was good, Thanks
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
This video just has the best vibes.
Always a fun time flying into Oshkosh with friends! Out of the country this year, but hope to hear of the wonders there. Soar safe Stevie!
Great Job Stevie and Chris. That Neal Aviation really went above and beyond with the panel, nav and lights. It was nice to see them do more than asked with your interior. It's a sign of craftsmanship. 👍
Love the uncluttered original style chromed trimmed panel, but with the discreet model engine gage lcd display
Yeah, a new Stevie vid. What a nice treat!
Your back!! I always love your videos. Can't wait to see more.
Thank you so much!!!
Best procedure and communication skills on YT!!!
Great video Stevie! Looking forward to watching part 2!
First, Love the videos. Happy Flying
Thank you so much!!
