Richard does sound like he embody Paul. But to your point before Richard officially replaced Paul in 1971. Richard was brought in alot times to sing Paul's parts during live performances from back stage. In which means he had to make his voice sound as close to Paul's voice as much as possible to make the audience think it was actually Paul singing. So I say that to say by 1982, Richard could very easily by then make his voice sound like Paul's without even trying I can imagine!
