Great video, thanks. Has given me the incentive to replace my seals after 14 years!

Another great video Toby. Im going to have to attack my drivers door soon since its apparent that the front top guide slider has come loose and now punches up through the cheater. But got to say, its no wonder these cars were so expensive to build with an assembly process like this!

So many memories of rebuilding mine made me laugh when you said be careful when moving the glass. I looked at the scar right through my knuckle when the butterfly broke and dropped the glass on my finger lol

Excellent video. Again. 7 years ago for you, but a current project for me. Glass back in. Can I get the glass to run smoothly up and down? Not a chance. I'm manually helping the glass up and down in the hope that the slightly loosened runner bolts will find their sweet spot(s), tightening the top ones with the glass at the top, lowering the glass and tightening the lower bolts....and it still sticks. Mostly at the opening (back) end of the door. The rear glass runner seems to want to twist. I can't afford another full swear jar. Has anyone else experienced and overcome this?

Hi, great videos and all of them have helped me rebuild my Elan -thank you! Without the video's it would have stayed in the garage forever. 3 years of fun and games and it has finally beaten me on one thing. The door electric lock on the drivers door keeps sticking on so the door won't open then finally let's go when it feels like it. Any ideas or ever had the central door locks off? It is fine just so long as I don't Lock the doors ! I may have knocked something when refitting the glass but I can't see anything. Cheers Alex

@@karlhurn Hi, fixed mine with second hand door mech. Common issue apparently. I know a chap who repairs them now. Let me know if you need details.

alternative to long nose pliers to hold the upstop bobbin nuts is to super glue a thin piece of plastic I used a bit of CD case to the back of the glass against the flat of the bobbin nut, then scrape the glue off when you have the glass out.
