Replacing the heater valve on the Lotus Elan M100

  • The valve that opens to let hot water flow to the heater matrix on the Elan is a known trouble causer. Here we swop it out for one made for a Volvo 760 which is functionally identical but made of non-corroding plastic.

    Replaced my rusty old metal valve with the plastic Volvo part after watching your video. Thanks for taking the time to do these! ;-)

    Ours went and blew its coolant all over the driveway. Replaced it with the same Volvo part as you now heater works better than ever!

    As an ex-Pom living in Australia with a '91 Elan bought as a restoration project your videos are invaluable mate.
    A minor nit-pick on this one - Jubilee Clips are a British brand name that might have heads scratching elsewhere in the world where they are know as hose clamps.

      I never knew that. Every day's a school day. "Location non-specific worm drive hose clamps" it is from now on.
