- First 25 factory programs (bank 1) from the great DSI Mopho X4. Its very simple (improvisation) jamming...nothing else, only to let you know how it sounds.
G R E A T :-)
When you use the headphone, please be careful with your ears... the X4 can be very loud and deep.
The X4 has four banks of 128 read-only factory programs and four banks of 128 user programs (1024 total) The user and factory programs you can all change/modify, but you can store only in the user mode. One live, life it ...
good decision, wise man and enjoy with the DSI
Grtz
Arp related Q: Does it do the same frustrating thing as the Mopho - u have hold on a key, say C (hands free arpeggiator so to spk) & when u hit another key, say G it adds it to the arp rather than changing to it (so now u have CG rather than simply a G arp) ??? Thanks
All effects (yes all ;-) you hear are IN the X4 sound engine.
At 00:40 you hear a delay sound that is a factory programmed sound by the master, mr. Dave Smith...
Thanks for asking
Hi, I am almost vintage :)...
But I used a Zoom Q 3 (HD)
Thanks for watching !
what is the difference between this and the tetra? ive been looking for a poloy analogue synth would you recommend this or is there something else you'd recommend in the same price range or lower? can't seem to find to much on this synth in the way of reviews
Love your sounds! thanks for posting! May i ask, when you Polychain your Mopho to your X4, do you require another set of stereo outputs?
How do you 'sum' the sounds from the 2 synths, if so :) Thanks
Thanks, its nothing just jamming through the bankpresets :) Yes you need extra stereo outputs and connect the Mopho like written in the Manual page 37. Everty 5th note is the Mopho. When you chain the Tetra, you have a Prophet with sub :) Now I have the Rev2, thats the best synth since the old P8. The P6 and OB6 are too expensive and not so good. Greets !
I think both :)
But when you choose is the Prophet 08 better, but you can do more combinations with de X4 and the Tetra.
Grtz
But isn't that a delay around 00:40 secs? Does it have a delay of itself?
Odd question, but what kind of camera are you using?
This video feels almost vintage, and maybe it's just the frame rate, but I really really like it. :)
How does this compare to a Roland JP-8000 from a functionality (LFO, routing, etc...) perspective, I understand that this is analog and the JP isn't. Thank you.
No effects used, you only hear the X4. Its a wonderful synth and you must take some time to make it your own.
All the best in 2013
great sounds ,
Do Mopho kbd + Tetra doing the same things that Mopho x4 ?
Yes, but you have a smaller keyboard. I used in this vid onley 4 voices, so only the X4 (not the Mopho desktop)
Maybe even more, but I dont know for sure if "split" and "Combo" to combine is with the Mopho Keys.
It sure does, Dave's presets are horrid. I would like to get ahold of one of those and make some cool sounds.
Does every single preset have delay? It gets old really fast
No effects added??..
Does this synth allow you to create sounds from the bottom up? (like a blank patch and then you add osc mixing, etc.)
Also, if you can create sounds can it only be done via computer software like on the little Mopho or can it be all done on the synth itself?
Hi,
The X4 has presets, but if you dont like them you can build your own preset. There are 4 x 128 presets and 4 x 128 own build presets space. You can make them by the computer or with the X4.
Its a baby Prophet withe a BIG sound !
Cool - and just to clarify, building your own preset can be from ground zero (clear/initialize patch to basic single osc) or do you have to manipulate an existing first?
alternatingbitmusic you have to manipulate an existing preset first, like the Little Phatty but not the same as the Doepfer DE.
* ordered today *
alternatingbitmusic Congratulations ! You'll have much analog fun with the X4 ! Let me know when she arrives
Hi, The JP8000 is a toy when you compare it with the X4.
If you have the money : Buy the "little" NO ! the smaller Prophet X4, its perfect :-)
I recommend the MophoX4 for sure... its a big synth and easy (much easier then the Tetra) to use. No large menu's as the Tetra, and many knobs.
I ve sold my Prophet because the X4 is a small prophet and together with the Tetra almost the same...
Grtz
It is a good synth, no doubt about it, but 4 voice poly in 2016, it is extrememy limited. I will never understand some of these synths manufacturers. Someone please explain...
Manfred klaus true analog signal path costs money I guess.
True analog actually sounds better, it's something you have to hear in person, I'm not sure it carries over video. Specific example, I can play DSI for hours and not experience ear fatigue, whereas with soft synths and roland, i only last about 20 minutes.
Not everyone needs a big, expensive Analog Polysynth. You have to consider size, cost, skill level and the intended uses. The x4 continues to be a good option into 2019.
ha nice, a mopho x5 :)
i love when people compare virtual nonsense to real analog...guess what people, there is no comparison sonically...stop cheesin out ! lmao
