    Ah man! The Tempest with this keyboard together sound amazing, of course in the hands of a skilled player.

    The Mopho/Tetra/x4 has a similar 100% analog voice architecture to the Prophet '08, with the addition of analog feedback and sub-oscillators. We have a couple poly chain videos, The x4 Introduction shows the x4 with a Tetra, & another with the Mopho Keyboard Polychain demo showing the Mopho Keyboard with a Tetra, a Tetra and a Mopho, and a Prophet '08 Module.

  • @SequentialLLC
    @SequentialLLC  11 років тому

    If that's what you're looking for, yes. Tetra's parts are fixed and divided evenly, meaning you can play all voices on 1 MIDI channel or 4 voices distributed across 4 MIDI channels, so 1 voice per MIDI channel. The Prophet '08 is bitimbral and distributes 4 voices per layer, so you'd get 4 and 4. The right choice depends on what you'd like to do specifically.

  • @SequentialLLC
    @SequentialLLC  11 років тому

    You have it right. On the Tetra, since it is 4 voices and they each get assigned to a different channel, you'd have a sequence, then on another channel you could play one key at a time (1 voice = 1 key). On the Prophet, you'd set your sequence and the other channel would have 4 voices (4 keys) left to play.

    sounds really good. I have a mopho and a p08, I was thinking about getting a poly evolver and a mono to gove me five voices. Why dont you guys have any videos demonstrating that series? does it have full fm with operators and modulations to those operators? I would love to see someone like this demo that series as well

    I just found one of these going for $200 in "good condition" on Facebook marketplace and I almost shit myself because it was one of my most desired synths when it first came out, even as the "Tetra" module. I really hope it hasn't already been sold! What a great sound. Really clean but very clearly analog.

  • @SequentialLLC

    All of our synths have line-level outputs and can be plugged directly into an amplifier, stereo, or PA. If you want to send the audio to FL Studio, you'll need an audio interface for your computer.

    Tetra is actually 4 part multitimbral which means you got 1 part for each voice if you want in a daw you setup, 1 voice for each track of a max of 4 tracks. Mopho x4 is just like 4 mopho's, it's polyphonic but no multitimbrality.

  • @SequentialLLC
    @SequentialLLC  11 років тому

    No need to polychain if you want to play along with a sequence, just run them side by side. Polychaining is for extending polyphony, or the max number of simultaneous notes that can be played. Polychaining a Tetra to the x4 would allow for 8-voice polyphony, whereas polychaining a Tetra to a Prophet would allow for 12-voice polyphony.

    Those are really nice sounds, I'm starting to dig dsi more and more. But can someone explain to me what the differences are between this and the tetra (apart from the controller obviously).

  • @turoniner
    @turoniner 11 років тому

    Well, assuming you were in a live context, and had the two units polychained simply for the sake of additional polyphony. Would you then be able to play while a sequence (or arpeggio) drones in the background?

  • @Letryk
    @Letryk 10 років тому

    I believe he means if hte Tempest+Mopho x4 (the two devices on the bottom :-) can be used as standalone coupled and if they can be integrated-programmed via daw. i would say (as the video shows), yes they can be used as standalone :-) second part of the answer i wouldn`t know...

    I looked @ the Mopho x4, the Tetr4, & the Prophet '08 P.E., & I am curious about 2 things: A): r the Mophos basically shorter versions of the Prophet '08? & B): I read on the Dave Smith Instruments site that it's possible 2 chain a Prophet '08 P.E. & 2 Tetr4s; could we c a video demo?

  • @turoniner

    So if you polychained a Tetra to the x4, you'd be able to play along with a sequence monophonically? But if you polychained a Prophet to the x4, you could play 4 voices along with a sequence?

    Very True, skill isn't the only factor, but in general this just seems superior other synth demos I've watched recently (mostly korg/moog demos).

    This demo is equally good at selling the Tempest.

  • @SequentialLLC
    @SequentialLLC  11 років тому

    Not in polychain, as the slaved unit mimics the master unit. You'd want to have them on separate MIDI channels or not polychained to do that.

    Our apologies, not sure what you are asking specifically. Can you please rephrase the question?

  • @stickybeats
    @stickybeats 11 років тому

    Tetra is 4 part multitimbral, has split/stack/combo mode. X4 is monotimbral and does not have split/stack/combo. Voice architecture is otherwise identical.

    ? How do you get the arpeggio in 5:17 to hold? I didn`t know it has a hold function?

    • @SequentialLLC
      @SequentialLLC  10 років тому

      The "Latch" function! It's built-in, and the text on the front panel under the arpeggiator button says "Hold: Latch". So to enable, turn the arp on, then press and hold the arp button for around 1 second. The LED will flash to indicate Hold is active.

    • @Letryk
      @Letryk 10 років тому

      Dave Smith Instruments oh my god i feel so silly. i have the synth for one year now and this is the first time i actually read the "Hold:Latch" above the arp button and realised it is talking to me...:-) .... Thank you very much for the info. I am going to use it a lot from now on!

      p.s it would be great if you would add (if this is possible via software of course) a one note latch function. i find the "push it" knob to complicated to hold a note. i want to be able to immediately latch any note i choose. The bass station has it and i find it very useful if you want to experiment for a drone and want to jump to different notes

    • @SequentialLLC
      @SequentialLLC  10 років тому

      Letryk This is already a feature. Set "PushIt Mode" to "Toggle" in the Miscellaneous Parameters menu. Or if you prefer, you can do this with the arpeggiator by setting "Arp Mode" to "Relatch" in the Global menu.

    • @Letryk
      @Letryk 10 років тому

      Dave Smith Instruments but this is what i mean. i want it to be accecible without digging in menus and settings. I have tried this . it just is much faster to do with the bass station. maybe i am the only one that likes it but i do...
