Whenever I see them, I always think of the movie "Crocodile Dundee" and that scene where the kangaroo picks up the rifle and shoots back! First time I saw that I must of laughed for an hour!
Great video with the drone John. We live in a rural area near Seymour and I think there is room for them and us. I am an ex farmer but I feel very sad seeing all the dead ones on the road with probably new urban people tearing along in the early morning and cleaning them up. They suffer terrible deaths . It was peaceful watching them in their natural surroundings
Goodday Johno, Beautiful creatures I just hope they evolve to miss everything on the road. Too scared to cruise my 1970 VG Valiant Hemi Hardtop into the country because of Kangaroos. Cheers Louis Kats 👍
Hi John, I'm the bp guy at kalgoorlie to whom you were complaining about pump auto cuthoonangal at 990. I was thinking that I know this guy and later I found out it is you. Man I'm blessed to meet you.💯
Great video as usual Johnno. They maybe on our Coat Of Arms, but they have become a serial PEST in rural and now urban areas of Australia. With there numbers increasing every year, we seriously need to look at some sort of plan to reduce these numbers. I understand people will have a go at me, but if you have seen what a ROO can do when it stands on its tail and strikes with its hind legs, its not pretty and people will get hurt. Fix the problem before it gets any worse.
(quote) "Truly beautiful to behold" - well naturally not "Rocky Horror" but amazing gracile creatures. Thank you for this moment of peace and calm. I don't dare to judge whether the Roos are generally a menace, because I have too little insight into this situation over there. But I know that even there in Australia there are sometimes situations in which humans and wild animals collide.
They're beautiful creatures. I have plenty living on my property in Western Victoria. When it comes to driving in my opinion, by far the worst area for large numbers of roos on or near the road is from Barcaldine to Longreach in Outback Queensleand.
Hi Johnno, hope your ribs are mending and these beautiful creatures in this ripper country of ours. Unfortunately I have tangled with few of them on our highways, but who am I too come up with a answer.
Thanks Mark. My ribs are having every so slowly. I'm still in Perth. Things are a little quiet. Odd so close to Christmas. Yes I think we've all danced with a roo.
Great video of these interesting critters. As a Rotary International student from New Mexico I soon learned why there are ROO Bars on many vehicles. They were a real pest to stockmen and farmers too in NSW. They are fun to watch but dangerous to drivers. Thanks and stay well.
Thanx for the nice video Johnno. In my opinion the humans are a menace for the roo's. BTW: how are you due to your broken rib? Have a nice day and stay safe 😀
@@RoadTrainAdventures thanks my friend, I wish you a speedy recovery. Are you working actually? I think with a rib fracture it is better to stay at home and rest, isn't it?
I've been in Perth since last Thursday. For some reason it's gone quiet. Maybe because of Melbourne Cup. I'll leave as soon as they have something for me.
Hello Johno We have the same problem with roos here. It was ok when they where culled and the land was cropping. But now the land is in trees and Culling has stopped . In some areas there can be a hundred roos to the acre
We drove from Melbourne to Canberra recently, and counted about 80 roadkill roos, mainly along the Hume Hwy... With 3 or 4 good seasons, and lots of grass to eat, kangaroos have breed up and are very numerous... And they haven't evolved yet, to dodge trucks and cars and the most dangerous vehicle to run into a kangaroo at 110kl per hour would have to be, a motorbike 😮
I have spent the past 5 years travelling around this country of ours and the biggest surprise for me was how few Kangaroos I actually saw. I saw literally Dozens of Emus and plenty of other wildlife but I did not at any stage see the Mobs of Kangaroos that I would have expected too see. No doubt they are out there But I have yet to see them.
thanks johnno for a great video . But not like in the west the number on east coast are reducing especially east of the mountains because of the new highway and developments. we don't see them any more regards steve
sorry johnno but your in minority group that think they need to destroy the wild life and country to made money that not right , that an old idea from the past and its lucky that a lot of those old fools that what to destroy are dying off and taking there idea with them How,s does it go rip rip chain saw turn it into paper and that the other problem on east coast theres no good mill logs left once you destroy the animal and bush its gone, Killing off the kangaroos is very short term out look@@RoadTrainAdventures
It's all fun and games until they call their cousin Vinny the 'roided up red kangaroo to come and take the drone off you :D Great video. Whiteman park?
I would like to point out that their ears are very, very, close together. In fact an Ozzie colloquialism for being mad is to have "too many kangaroos in the top paddock".
To the non Australian or those who don’t travel the outback they are cute, however for those who do travel they can be a total disaster and cause severe damage and even death in an accident. The kangaroo population in Australia is out of control and they are now invading suburbia and causing real damage to areas and to vehicles that often end with a severe accident. Quite often a driver will automatically swerve to avoid them and forget about the oncoming vehicle. They do immense damage to farmland fences and crops.
We get paid per kilometre when driving, hourly when loading and unloading and post day when we're waiting for a load. We usually don't have to wait long.
Sadly I have seen far too many of our native animals up close and personal; over my 50 years of driving in this country, they are beautiful but they have cost me and my fellow drivers millions and millions of $ in accident repairs over that time. If only they had better road sense 😬
David Hunn Wonderful animals. Pity they didn't have the brain power of something like a goat that heads in the other direction when they see you coming instead of heading for you.
Australia and her Kangaroo's. Marvellous or Menace, depends a litle of the music under the vid. I would say marvellous. But i dont live with them. What a life they have. Aind it. Just humping around a bid. Eating. Enjoy nature as there play ground. No rushing. No biils to work for and need to pay. Caring around the baby's a litle. What else they do. Whel... imagin your the baby in the pocket, and mom jumping around hole day. I gues thats wurse than a outback road. hahaha. I seen lots with babys in pocket. Dont go on the road Skippy's. And how are your ribs doing?
@@RoadTrainAdventures Dont know. Not nice. You have 129 reactions on this vid. .far as i can see you answered tham all. maybe refresh the page? I can delet,to see what happends?

Great examples of Darwinism. Amazing what you get when you segregate a land mass for millennia. For a large part of their existence they didn't have to put up with humans roaring around in ICE vehicles. The odd throwing object from the natives but largely live as you please. I often wake up to a small group grazing outside my window. And feel no compulsion to grab a gun and shoot them. One of nature's most remarkable creations. Unfortunately more modern human intervention has upset the balance. And now part of that interaction is finding them on our roads. Give the roos another few thousand years and they might work out how to avoid us. In the short term Homosapiens will continue to kill them in great numbers. Like we do with everything else. Including our own kind. So in my opinion the answer to your question is. Kangaroo marvel. Human menace.
Thank you John for sharing. Awesome video brother.👍👍👍
Thanks Raymond
John, Thanks !. That was a little treat for us who don't have any Kangaroos where we live.
Very good. Thanks
Fantastic. Was slightly concerned not only did we have trees but power lines lolol. Love it. We have such beautiful animals in this country of ours.
Very nice

Ha ha. Yes I remember that scene.
Thanks Johnno. People don't realise the great country we have. Travel Safe and Enjoy 👍🏼🇦🇺
Kangaroos are certainly cute but they do some damage to crops.
You got that right Johnno
For sure
Love these guys, but once read that they were multiplying massively and were being culled due to the damage they cause 😒
Yes but around here, I wonder if that will ever happen.

Haven't you seen enough embedded in the bull bar Johnno,? just kidding mate good video of some of our wildlife. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I've been lucky not to catch too many. Each time I hit one I usually have to refocus the spotlight closer to the hit.
They really are lovely critters. I remember with fond memories visiting the zoo in Queensland.
Yes they're cute but will attack if cornered.

Yes that will never happen. I wish someone could tell me why they congregate right on the edge of roads when all the feed is in the paddocks.
wow johnno another great video so many kangaroos up there looks like a very nice area
Yes it's a nice area but theyre really building in numbers.

with how vast australia is, i bet the first time some of the roos see a road is when a car hits them. you forget how big it is here.
