I couldn't agree with this person's opinion more. 99% of the time I hook up on Grindr not because I am horny or enjoy hooking up, but more because I am lonely and want companionship. I almost always message the guys after the hookup and try to become friends and make plans to see each other again. Usually they are short in their responses and eventually we stop talking and they are never interested in becoming more than just a hookup. Even though I go into it knowing it is a hookup, I can't help but feel hurt after and wonder why they don't want to get to know me more. Hookups are better than nothing, but ultimately just leave you feeling lonely and empty inside.

One of the problems I think is that these apps are one of the few spaces where we can interact with other gays. Going to the bar and club, most of the guys there are just looking at their phones(including myself)
I actually think everything is getting so fast, an we can notice it on the human relationships, they short and people just want get to the "point" so there's nothing beyond. I feel sad about it. That is my opinion. Love you!!!

+andydanskine Hey Andy, that is way out of my area of expertise or even reasonable competence. It's very important that you talk to you Dr and a GOOD physical therapist after a surgery like that, because it's all to easy to injure yourself.
"Don't get discouraged" is the best advice you can give? I want my 8 minutes and 36 seconds back. There comes a point where if you don't get discouraged, someone needs to check your pulse and make sure you're still breathing. Getting discouraged is what its going to take for people to stop using those goddamn apps and figure out another way and make more of an effort.

Not everyone has a large employer and even if they did, statistically, the chance of having another gay male outside of certain industries are around 2 per hundred people. As for the bars, I don't know if you've ever been to a bar, but they're really hit or miss in terms of meeting people... usually miss. It's not easy to meet people, especially if you're gay and live outside of the gay "district" of a major city and it gets even more difficult as you get older. The time to act is when you're young and do come in contact with people at school. Form a monogamous relationship and work hard to keep it going forever. That's my advice. Dating sucks and it's especially sucky if you're gay. There are not "plenty of places to meet people" as the comment I replied to suggested.

thanks Marc I already get physio and have been advised to join a gym to strengthen the core muscles , anything but free standing weights .
