Amazing video! Thanks for keeping us in the loop with the newest updates, Nick!
Welcome!
Awesome data Nick. I'm improving my SoP's like a maniac every time I watch your videos. Ready to put this to work 💪.
Thank you!
Baller work!
Really solid video Nick! Thank you. Super sheet too, will create one like that myself!
Welcome!
Thanks Nick. I will implement this method into my Australian ecom stores. Please keep making new videos and updating us with new methods and updates as you continue to learn and grow we can grow with you
Will do!
Thanks for the information mate!
No problem 👍
Very useful content Nick! Thank you! Where do you organize your SOPs?
Google sheets / asana / google drive
This method works great and is so stable. Thanks for these vids
You're welcome!
I see a new thing called advantage + creative optimizations, do you turn that on?
I turn it off, mostly due to it putting music on photo ads and it be the worst music ever
You're actually the goat 🔥🔥
Thank you!

thanks for the one liner. It all makes sense now
Welcome!
Love the video, a lot of people waiting for this. With your adset, are you running no exclusions now? Not even 30d purchasers from pixel and list?
You can do 30d purchases, you're talking about a very small change here
Hey Nick! Thanks for the video, we're planning to transform our campaigns to flexible ads while combining our different audiences to one adset. I wonder if we can see the performance data of each "creative asset" that are in the ad creative groups.
Welcome! So far there is no breakdowns but that’s why I just look at the fb post with comments to show me what works best
Love this Nick! same as what Charley said
Thank you!
@@kylechristiansuarez579 doesn’t Charley say 2 headlines and 2 primary? I think Nick advises to change the creative x3 but leave the text alone.
Amazing.
Thanks!
I took a quick look at my current Flexible Ads, and the Post with comments for me always combines the First Uploaded Image, First Primary Text, and First Headline. Three from three - never the second or third image or second headline or primary text. That can't be just a coincidence?? Surely you've seen Post IDs that combined differently for you?
Interesting, we haven’t seen that. Has a couple hundred been spent on that ad?
@@NickTheriot It was little money maybe 160€ but I have heard that from others as well is that guaranteed not to be the case with you?
probably you do not have engagement or not enough engagement, so meta show your the first post ID created. Spend more!
I'm suspecting this is what's happening as well... I've just checked 3 Flexible Ad I've created, one of them with +2k spent. In all of them, the first ad to appear in the show facebook post with comments of Flexible Ads is the one your first uploaded when creating it... Has anyone saw the same as well? thanks

Just create a regular adset
Thank you for sharing so many videos. Today's video helped explain some nuances. I feel like I understand the 3/2/2 process pretty well now, but need to understand how to make a better ad. I will watch your Advanced Ads Guide next. I'm definitely tired of throwing money away and appreciate your push to focus on what performs.
1: I'm definitely considering applying for the insider group... would you recommend getting some initial success with at least a few ads before applying to the insider group?
2: Do you have like a top 3 or 5 videos you'd recommend for a beginner?
Thanks again for your time and education.
1. The group is to fast track your success with me mentoring you. So you can keep going at it alone trying to get success or you can have me tell you what to do on day 1
2. The advanced guide is what you need to watch next and apply. This video is beginner
Great video!
Question: wouldn’t it be helpful to see the breakdown so you can get ideas on why is one variation outperforming the other?
Do you think Meta will bring back the breakdown in the future?
If i see the winning creative varition by post with comments, then i can just compare that creative to the other 2 tested and draw conclusions. I don't need a breakdown to see that. I'm sure they will in the future!
Love your video man, thank you so much
Thx/ Jon
Appreciate the support Jon!
Was waiting for this. Already liked the video. Now I'll watch it.
Thanks for the like!
This is great thanks! Can we see the breakdown of which variation works better? If I have a flexible ad performing well but has no comments/likes, what's the best way to view it's post id to see which format is performing?
Currently you cannot see that right now. That is why the best performing one is shown from fb post with comments
Excellent explanation, well done NICK
A question is still running through my mind: Can I put different videos and pictures together in flexible ads?
Watch the video, i go over 3 videos or 3 photos per 1 flexible ad
Question : advantage+ broad audience or OG broad audience? Which one works best for you?
OG
@@NickTheriot Did you see that now Flexible format does an extra carousel with our variations? They added this yesterday seems like... 😭

Hi Nick, thank you very much for all the information you share.
I just have one question.
Do you enable or disable the options. Multi advertiser ad and Advantage+ content optimizations.
Thanks
I leave multi advertiser and turn off a+ optimizations
Thank you, Nick. I'm confused. So, are you not moving anymore into the main ad set winning variations?
Correct
Hi, when I use this new flexible system for each system do I have to create a new ADSET or all in one ADSET? Thank you!
..... i literally showcase in the video me making a new adset for each one
Hi Nick, thanks! Cant you adapt the asset size for each placement? Because if I throw bunch of formats I usually see squared stories.
I just don't care about that lol
Hi Nick, is there a bug happening where when we click [Breakdown --> Dynamic Creative Elements --> Image, video, and slideshows]. The system doesn't show the breakdown of each performances, so we won't know which creative and combinations performs the best
Yes that is true, that is why i just rely on see fb post with comments to see the best one

How do catalogue ads fall into your funnel? Just add one into each campaign to test against flexible ads
earlier you used to create a 'winners' ad set where you added winning post ids. Are you not doing that any more?
No
Cool. Can these multiple adsets compete with one another and negatively affect the results? Also, have you compared standard audience vs advantage+ for adsets?
Only if there is a bad creative that gets all the spend then yes and all i'll do is turn off the adset
Hey Nick, unlike dct, the new flexible format allows us to create more than 1 ad per adset. My question is what is the difference between:
1. Having 3 concepts as 3 adset, VS
2. Having 3 concepts as 3 ads under the same adset
No difference, just personal preference
@@NickTheriot The first will create 3 different audiences won't it? So the first will generate three audiences best matching the banners, the second will find one audience with the best performing banner.
Hey Nick, do you recommend buying strong FB profiles and BMs and setting up a bulletproof accounts advertising structure so that the business/pixel/page etc. stay safe and only the employee ad accounts are the only ones at risk of getting banned and can be easily replaced. Thanks so much
I would recommend it if advertising likely to ban products or terrible shipping times
What if I have already 2 copys that works? Should I create new 2 adset? The first one to text 1 copy winner + 1 copy test, second one 1 copy winner (diffent than the other one) + 2 copy test (diferent that the one in the other adset). Thanks!
Don’t overthink it. Just pick one and roll
Thank you so much. If my DCT wins, Should I just keep the DCT ad set and move it to the main ad set, Nick?
Just leave it on is what we've been doing
Hi Nick, thank you for your video! How was the budget you've started with? I see that after a month is at 200$..
Yes we're still working on scaling this account, it's a new account we just started with. This video is not about scaling or a case study, but how to use flexible.
@@NickTheriot Thank you.. no judging, i have a new account too and is helpful seeing other new account spending low budget 😊
Hey nick, does a “winning ad” usually take off from day 1? based on your experience
Usually within the first 48-72 hours
Would you take the post id and run an awareness campaign on that post id to increase reactions, comments so that the ad can potentially have higher conversion rate because of the higher reactions and comments?
No
Hey Nick, I want to test 3 different desires in images. Do I have to test them in 3 different adsets or can I take the same concept image example "twitter post" and simply change the text to have 3x the same image, but 1 desire per image in the same adset?
I only do one desire per concept
Man, I love your videos. I have been watching them all. I have only one question if you don't mind.
So basically, you don't move your winning flexible ads into a 'main' ad set like you did before. My question now is, how many Flexible DCT would you let run if they are performing? For example, if I have 3 winning flexible ads, would you still add 2-3 new flexible ad sets each week? And do you have a maximum amount of ad sets you're going to leave on your CBO?
Thanks a lot!!"
Thank you! Correct. As many as performing, i don't have a number.
Thanks for this video Nick, super helpful! I have also watched your other video: Live Building A Facebook Ad Campaign In 2024.
That being said, I have a question about testing on a brand-new Meta account. So I know your current strategy is running with 1 broad ad set using 6-12 standard ads depending on budget for 7 days. Then whichever ad gets the most spend or conversions is the “winner”. At that point you test 3 creative iterations, with 2 body copies, and 2 headlines.
So my question is after you have found a winning iteration from you standard ads and you scale the flexible creative ad set and it does well for some time. But inevitably hits ad fatigue. How do you test new “big swing ad angles”? Do you go back to testing them within the initial standard ads set up for 7 days before finding a new winner and testing interactions on Flexible Creative? Or do you jump straight to testing new “big swing ad angles” with Flexible Creatives?
Welcome! I just go straight into those new angles as flexible creatives
@@NickTheriot Nice! I assume using the same setup except with new big swing concepts. So 3 new big swing creatives, 1 winning ad copy & 1 new ad copy. Then 1 winning headline with 1 new headline. Correct?
I've been having good luck with flexible ads so far, although I've done both 3--2-2 and some variations with more creative, mainly so the carousel makes sense and tells a better story. (These ads will run as carousels whether we want them to or not, so it's something to consider.)
But, Nick, one of the benefits of the flex ads is we can run multiple ads inside a single ad set. So what's the reasoning behind multiple ad sets now? Wouldn't the data be more pure if the 2-3 flex ads are all working inside the exact same broad audience? (I'm still doing multiple ad sets but it's something I'm questioning on my end.) Thanks man.
You’re limited to 50 ads per adset, so down the line you’ll have to create a new adset anyway. Again nothing wrong with all in one adset. Such a small thing, that creates zero impact on performance
@@NickTheriot I agree when advertising broad like the entire US, but would you say it creates an impact when the audience is only like 3-4mil people? Adsets arguably might overlap each other? Thanks.
Maybe, one more thing to consider: there's a gigantic chance of each time you add a new flexible ad into the same ad set the learning phase of that ad set would reset. But when you ad a new ad set inside a CBO campaing, it doesn't restart any learning phase.
@@FabioPradoLima that's it!
Can you show the entire google sheets template that you showed in the video for recording and tracking each new creative batch test?

Thanks for the video! I currently run ads to 5 countries but I only have 2 campaigns; campaign 1 (US) and campaign 2 (UK, CA, AU NZ). I structure it this way primarily because the total spend for the 4 smaller countries is only 40% of my US spend (3k and 1.2k). Would you advise to keep it this way or create a campaign for each of the 4 countries?
Keep it that way, since you already did it. Only split if you create a dedicated shopify store for each country (which i recommend)
Question, have you seen your one campaign approach work on TikTok as well?
I don’t run tik tok ads
I’m going to watch this 5x
Smart!
Hi Nick, may I ask... Due to this new Flexible Ad format, we can't change the video thumbnail manually (but Dynamic can). Do you have any idea of this? because if the Meta makes my video's thumbnail randomly, it seems to be pointless to make a text hook. 🙏🏻
I haven't been worrying about this
Nick this new account has started with 50 or 100$/daily budget? If you can say it.. And, with flexible ads do you launch new adset for any new angle even if you can duplicate it in the same adset? Thank you
Every adset is one new concept. Every new concept is either a whole new angle, an iteration, or variation
Hey, What about "maximize value of conversion" as performance goal? Do you use that, and in what cases?
I don't
Hi Nick, thanks for this new great video on a such important topic. After a couple of days Facebook gives me the advice to combine the adsets because of fragmentation. It would save 33% it says. How do you deal with this? Thanks a lot
I don't listen to it 99% of the time
OK thanks, but is it true though that you loose money by ignoring it?
In the ads account demo, did you end up turning off all the ads you tested? since they did not get too much of the spend.
Yes
Do you turn on dynamic on the adset level or only flexible on the ad level? Kind of confused to be able to choose on both levels.
Only flexible at the ad level
should I have Advantage+ Creative Optimizations on, or should I turn them off?
I turn them off
I’ve seen that brand vital sleep
Nice
Hello, Nick. Thanks for your insightful and juicy content. Keep it up!
Would appreciate if you assist me with the following questions:
As I got, you recommend to test new creatives by just adding new ad sets in already existing campaign. But does it affect the algorithms of the campaign if I still don't have many ad sets in the campaign already running?
For example, If I launch a new campaign with 3 ad sets. And after 3 days I notice that only 1 ad set is a winner. So I turn off 2 others. And then I want to test 2-3 new ad sets. If I launch them in the existing campaign, won't it affect the campaign algorithms? Because there is only 1 ad set running at the moment and 2-3 ad sets are added in bulk.
And if I just want to test different image/video variations for the same marketing angles that already exist in the campaign. Is it better to just edit already existing ad sets or create new ones?
Would highly appreciate your advice here. Thanks in advance.
I don't keep creating new campaigns, i do all my work in one campaign. I create new adsets for all new creatives
Does the method change at all depending on how much you have chosen for daily CBO budget? E.g $5 a day vs $200 a day, would you still do the same?
No
Hi Nick. Do you also exclude purchases last 30 days?
Yes you can
Minimum daily spend for each CBO for this to have a chance of being effective?
Whatever you can spend for 30 days without turning it off, so you have time to find winning ads and can start scaling as you do
Hi man, love your content ! So if I understand right, when you want to test new creatives, you only add adsets with a "concept" ? How about adding creative into existing adsets when you see them having decreasing results?
Is it better to
- add a fresh new adset with a set of new creatives?
- add a creative in a well established adset?
I can see for exemple that my adsets that went through the learning phase are performing better, and more consistantly than the fresh new ones, because facebook still needs to learn with them, and I don't know if adding new creatives into them will compromise the existing ones working or increase the chance of the new creatives performing.
Also, is the dupplicating adsets with same creatives still working? Like trying to "split" the pockets of the audiences by having multiple same adsets
Always new adsets, never add to existing. No duplication does not work, it's a myth.
@@NickTheriotalright, awesome man thanks for your reply 🙏
Wouldn't be the same if we put into one adset, 3 flexible ads using 1-2-2 which will do 12 post IDs but in this structure I'll be able to analyse which creative is performing the best?
Sure you could do the same
Hey Nick,
I was wondering if you had seen this update in any of your ad accounts. When I was doing broad no-interest targeting in a CBO or ABO campaign in the past, the reach for Australia was 19-22 million. Now, it's down to 12-14.8 million. However, for Advantage Plus campaigns, which essentially is broad no-interest targeting, the reach is still 19-22 million.
I'm curious why Advantage Plus campaigns are suddenly reaching twice the audience compared to traditional CBO or ABO broad no-interest campaigns, which used to have the same audience size but are now 2x lower.
Is this because meta wants us to use advantage plus now and not cbo/abo broad no interest targeting anymore?
Your opinion on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Have not seen this
In which format would you make the videos again so that they are displayed appropriately everywhere?
9x16 and keep all text elemtns / important visuals within a 1x1 zone on that video
Hey Nick. Can i run 3 completely different image creatives with 3 different text hooks on each in the 1 flexible Ad?
Each creative appeals to a different audience who would use this product.
Or does it need to be 3 iterations of the 1 concept in each flexi ad to work best?
I am testing 3 angles to hopefully find a winner.
I like to do 1 concept and 3 iterations on it
Really stupid question... Do we still use this structure for TOF and MOF or do we only just run one campaign with different creatives that will target the different parts of the funnel?
One campaign, broad targeting, and let the ads of different levels of the funnel do the targeting
Hey Nick, I use your strat for my store. Very simple and works great, however when we try to test statics, they get little to no spend whatsoever. Tthe new video DCT's usually get a bit of spend and sometimes performs. We've found a few winning creaives DCT's using UGC ads, however we've found no statics that work. We've tested in total over 60 images ads, none which get precedent spend over our UGC ads. Any thoughts?
Why do you need statics to work? Keep focusing on what's working
How to determine your profitable cpa number? And do you not look at roas as the main indicator of a winning ad anymore?
I don't look at roas, i look at cpa. Full video here ua-cam.com/video/QfmJZqL0ews/v-deo.html
Hi Nick, have you or any of your community experienced only being able to use flexi-ads with Advantage + shopping campaigns? I can no longer create CBO campaigns with the option to create flexi ads at ad level.
Negative
Hi Nick. When we launched the flexible ads with 1:1 creatives, Meta was auto-cropping it to 4:5. This led to many creatives in a single ad set. Due to which, the overall budget was not distributed effectively. Have you faced any issue like this? What do you suggest in a case like this?
Thanks for making the video. Was waiting for this. Cheers
Something we started doing is 9x16's and putting all the important stuff within a 1x1 zone inside the 9x16, so it can go to all placements

Is it possible Facebook flagged my business managers after and artificially increased the CPM?
I might try deleting my Facebook account, waiting 30 days, creating a new one, and starting with fresh everything.

That’s the only thing that affects performance.
@@NickTheriot I hear you there, it’s just I was very profitable over the years at $20-$30 CPM. Now at $80 - $100 I have to spend 3-5x as much for the same clicks.

That means you constantly have learning phase and limited learning. If you would launch the new concepts as FF within one ad-set, you optimize&exit the learning phase quickly and have a high performing ad-set. Or am I missing something here?
