You are totally correct Sue Ann, the drummer is Steve Ferrone from the Average White Band 😎 Love this performance and Prince just shone like a bright light. Totally a ‘hold my beer’ moment! Most of the solo was improvised as he didn’t even rehearse it with the band. That year Prince was also inducted. Fabulous stuff! And as you say, he walked off like a pimp! 💜 Long live Prince, my favourite artist of all time 💜
I Couldn’t discern the context in which the Gentleman on the panel said Prince was “very arrogant”, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt and imagine it was dry wit; especially in light of the praise he gave Tom Petty afterwards. Otherwise, it’s a bad look. If you catch my drift.
Yes reven-docta79, It was dry wit. Perhaps it could have been delivered better. It was in the context of Prince upstaging the other performer. He had a right to be righteously arrogant especially after Rolling Stone Magazine left him off the list of Best Guitarist. He showed them that he doesn't need their approval.

Thanks for that Sally! Sue Ann knows the drummers! ☮🎵
According to some reports, Prince was also being inducted that same night.
He was. He performed that, then this And had a concert a few hours later.
Please do Bob Dylan! Or all of them, with Tom Petty too, ”tweeter and the monkeyman”. Greatest storytelling ever.
Definitely!!!!! Gotta do Dylan. Thanks for the suggestion. ☮🎵
