What’s with the line across our faces?!? Check out our original tunes and find out! First Ride by GOZA Official Music Video ua-cam.com/video/OvlhWYCyWIc/v-deo.html
Prince was our Mozart, he mastered over 14 instruments by age 17, he could dance, sing any note, rap, he wrote, arranged, performed ALL his music, including wrote hits for other artists, he has covered almost every genre, Metal, Punk rock, hip hop, pop, r&b, soul, jazz, blues, country, ambience, meditation, classical, techno, house, disco, instrumental. The Multi-Genre God. He could play anything, and your favorite artists have been deeply influenced by him. Corey Taylor, Whitney Houston, Steve Vai, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Lil uzi vert, H.E.R. , Paul Mccartney, all worship Prince to just name a few. Prince recorded his first 2 albums at 16 all by himself, all instruments, lyrics, arrangement, composition & vocals were all by him. He was such a prodigy, that music executives wanted proof, they would fly across country just to see if he could really play all instruments, because it was so unheard of. Prince has over 50 official released albums and when he passed, they found over 10 thousand unreleased Prince music in his vault. He then came into the business and was the FIRST to fight for artists rights, and he WON. He would write "slave" on his cheek and go to meetings protesting against the industry. Prince was also one of the first artists to sell his music direct to internet. You are talking about the most talented artist we will ever see.
And lets not forget, he wrote the basic plot to one of the greatest musical films "Purple Rain" and received an Oscar for Best Original Song Score. The movie grossed $70.3 million worldwide, against its $7.2 million budget. Pretty awesome!!
Let's remember that Prince was also being honored into to the Rock n; Roll Hall Of Fame that same day so it's a stretch he had "something to prove" It was just another day being a badass for him.
Some tidbits to chew on: He wanted his outfit to match the stage background. There was no rehearsal for this solo. Trust fall during the solo was the first of its kind. That young man on Tom Petty's left is George Harrison's son, Dhani. The guitar was tossed to one of his handlers and instructed by Prince to give it to Oprah Winfrey. Good reaction guys 👍
@@gozaband Just My Imagination (Small Club). Sublime solo that makes you chill. Believe me on that one. Here you go: ua-cam.com/video/RPCbe_rFwc8/v-deo.htmlsi=0TVHVw3kUEpf-aph Enjoy.
IDK if Clapton could make it or not, the story is: - Prince was also inducted that year - Prince did a sound check but not rehearsals with the band - Rolling Stone Magazine published a (stupid as always) list of 100 best guitarists ever and Prince wasn't at that list - Prince said, "OK" And then this happened for the pages of HISTORY. On the B side of this, Prince could play bass, drums and keyboard/piano as good or better than the guitar. Add as well his vocal technique was really good and his range Top 5...
I have been a Bowie fan for 43 years, but if you ask me what the best concert was that I ever attended, it was Prince, hands down. He was something else.
The crazy part is no one knew what prince was gonna do.. he was added at the last minute. So what you witnessed was totally improvised … take a moment and think about that solo…mind blowing
Before this performance rolling stone put out thier top 100 guitarist list and left him off it. So the attitude in his performance was directed at the writer of the magazine! The best all time middle finger toss the guitar and walk off like a boss epic! Love the reaction yall have a great one.
And what guitar works of Prince do you prefer? Name one, on which song? Easy to cast shade without any details. Declare any nonspecific other to be better, meanwhile I'll appreciate what Prince did here.
I’m pretty sure only an uneducated and uncultured fool would say they were in no way able to appreciate the sensational performance Prince (my musical hero) put in here. However I have to agree that this solo is only just scratching the surface of what Prince was capable of. Have a look at The Question of You live in 2004 or Empty Room at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 2009. Or Joy in Repetition live too. Prince’s talents were otherworldly and in my humble opinion no one has ever come close to competing with him across all his talents of which there were many. Claire (in Scotland 🏴) O(+> xx
It's "said" that George called his best friend EricC into the original WhiteAlbum recording cuz George felt the other Beatles would take his song more seriously with Clapton on hand...
That was Jeff Lynne from the band ELO who sings those high parts🔥👍🏼 I highly recommend you checkout some ELO songs. You've probably heard a few without even realizing it was them haha
Just so you know, when Eric Clapton was asked in an interview, "What does it feel like to be the Best lead guitarist of all time.?" His response was, "I don't know, you have to ask Prince!" RESPECT!!! When Prince passed the Entire World went Purple!!! #ThePurpleOne #PrinceRogersNelson #nothingCompares2U #HisRoyalBadness
Great reaction, thanks for that! I'd love you guys to check one of the most epic live performances ever You've done a YYZ Rush reaction, which was awesome BUT, you'd be seriously missing from your reaction catalog, Rush performing XANADU live in 1981 at the Montreal forum, NOW your cooking with FIRE!
Check out the video of Prince’s soundcheck for the 1991 special olympics opening ceremony if you want to see some really rocking tambourine playing. Lol. 💜
The guy that pushed him back on stage,,,was his bodyguard,,,,he caught the guitar...later on oprah Winfrey bought the guitar for a whopping, $700.000..
Jim Capaldi used to be in Traffic with Steve Winwood. He had a Great voice too Jim. Sadly he is up there with George, Tom, Prince and other's rockerns😢
To be fair you can recognise George’s son so it’s not unreasonable to ask why you don’t recognise Jeff Lynne within context. I would normally ignore but I only comment because your response was obtuse and too defensive without explaining why this wasn’t a justifiable observation. Other than just shut up🤷🏻♂️
It was the “oh boy” that got to me. Could have definitely expressed himself in a better manner, but the point of these videos is for all of us to learn and to keep rock n roll alive. And The Beatles are a thousand times more popular than ELO so to recognize George’s son is way more common than to recognize Jeff Lynne. We are musicians not historians and have no problem with being corrected. I don’t think my response was unjustified compared to his off kilter comment. And he didn’t ask why I didn’t recognize Jeff Lynne, he just made a smirk remark. It’s not what we say it’s how we say it. At least your reply was conversation invoking so thank you for that!
Did you intimate that prince had to step his game up due to petty wunwood etc. he’d annihilate anyone on that stage in a bad night. Had the talents of 75000 men. Treated performance as a blood sport. Eric how does it feel to be greatest guitar player of all time Response. I don’t know ask prince.
There’s a performance he’s playing a Santana medley that is far superior to this. And in many many sound checks and aftershows like the joy in repetition in New York
He was doing the solo of the original song by Clapton. It’s not about technique only 😂 Music is about playing the right notes at the right time blending the guitarist spirit sound body with the sound. I’ve heard real complex incredible solos that are soulless dull and boring. Rock’n Roll is easy stuff but makes people jump scream cry etc

By no means is this Prince's best guitar solo , maybe not even the best he did that day .
Google ...Shhh Prince Detroit 2004...
Just my imagination, The Hague aftershow 1988-08, aka "Small Club"
You could see that he tossed the guitar to the same dude in the front row who caught him when he leaned backward off the stage. Ultimate showman.
This is definately one of his best but not his best. I've heard him do sound checks that rival this.

Even more a reason he had something to prove!
