I had a life changing experience with Jesus Christ. In less then 5 minutes on my knees at a altar he changed my heart. I knelt down a drug taking drunk, when I got up I had a different heart! I'm not offended at all. I’m not Christian, but I say Merry Christmas, and I do respect Christianity. My only problem is that Christianity claims exclusivity - if you are not with us you will go to hell. That’s quite literally an attack against others, when discussed in public.
And I will not be ashamed of proclaiming that Jesus is a mighty prophet like the prophets who came before him. who came to teach the children of Israel to worship one God and that God has no partners or associates. He was not begotten nor does he beget. This concept is not monotheistic and the trinity is not biblical. In fact the Bible has been subject to changes by the hands of men through the historic councils. Thus, no longer being preserved.
Man! I waited to watch this until I could really engage, and it did not disappoint. I've been growing and learning the last few years, and your ability to convey not only the big picture stuff but also the specifics is second to none. Great to see someone has the fortitude to discuss this. Well done Mr Lovell and thank you for speaking up for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. God bless.
My Grandfather was a Pastor. He devoted his life to living by Jesus’s principles. His love of Christ and his devotion to his fellow man was the most awe inspiring thing I have ever witnessed. It was nothing short of divine. One of the reasons I appreciate this channel, WPS, is that I feel that same devotion to others permeate all that you do. That was absolutely 100% my favorite video of yours I have ever seen, I thought you were cool before but seeing how strong your faith is is inspiring, I loved the part where you said if I catch a bullet in the forehead I will be instantly with Christ, so what is there to be afraid of.....love that. I always mention that to my mother when someone passes that we know, I say you know mom, they really are the lucky one. to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. keep it up man. merry CHRISTmas !
I’m 13 and I’m not religious. However I agree with every almost word you said. I’m open to new ideas and I like to see the other side of things. My mind is in no way set on any side of things. Every word you said was worth listening to. Thank you. Edit: I plan on doing everything you guys are saying. I appreciate the time your taking out of your day to help me!
Hey Sam. Keep seeking what is true. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father but through Him (John 14:6). Seeking for truth is literally seeking for Jesus. If you turn away from sin, and put your trust in Jesus, He will transform you into a new creation, and you will be a part of His Kingdom for all eternity. God bless you and merry Christmas.
Well said, young Warrior. Ironically, Jesus spent most of his time with the sinners fighting against the "religious" people. You're doing exactly what you need to do, searching! I believe that search reveals truth. Not your truth versus my truth but THE TRUTH. It has taken me 57 years of constantly searching questioning and asking questions of God to come to the truth. I believe that Jesus is who he says he is. That's not my truth or your truth it is the truth, as far. I believe that there is only one way to God and that is through Jesus. I could sit here and pound religion and theology into you all day long however, that's not how Jesus taught. He did ittby example and through loving those who disagreed with him even loving those who ultimately killed him. You keep searching and if you're search lead you, the way that I hope that it does, Jesus himself reveal The truth to you, not your truth not my truth but the truth. Keep your powder dry and watch your 6 young man. I'm praying for you.
Good on you for keeping an open mind! I will say I like John's approach of looking for objective truth, looking for factual evidence, etc, but the exact same approach has not led me to be even slightly religious. I've looked, out of curiosity, and have not seen a single convincing argument for the objective truth of Christianity or any factual evidence of the existence of a god. But I much prefer John's approach to blind, thoughtless faith by far.
@@nijikirainijinosei92 As of right now that is where I’m at. I will keep using objective evidence to guide me, but I refuse to do something without definitive reasoning why. My dad has given me the same guiding principles. I am very fortunate to have my parents on different sides of this giving me differing point of views. Thanks for your time!
Loved it. Being older I love it when someone isn’t fearful of living, teaching and defending the biblical view of manhood. A rarity these days. Thanks for sharing.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you to have a Happy New Year.
Thank you for explaining that faith is not blind faith! It is awful how many Christians think that when Christianity seems to stop making sense that it’s faith that bridges the gap. That idea seems to be pretty pervasive in Christian culture and I am always so glad to find people with an audience setting the record straight. Thanks for all you guys do!
Having followed you almost from the start of you're UA-cam carrier, I don't know how I am just now seeing this. This video brings up so many topics, I wish I could talk with you about them for a couple of days. A small group we meet with weekly has these types of discussions. We have corporate professionals and people with no jobs, an ex con and a policeman, recovering addicts and an addiction counselor. The one thing we have in common is our belief in God. Once new comers learn that it is all about caring, very few people get offended. It's great and your words and beliefs mirror that.
John, I hate that I missed this live. This is simply awesome. I love this. This is essential, deep, and the realist convo we can ever have. God bless u John!!!
Thank you John. Was nice to hear your thoughts on this unfortunately sensitive topic. Nice for a change from all the craziness we’re all having to be ready for.
John, your strength of faith in God and how you speak confidently and honestly is something that has engaged me in your content more than anything else.
This was really eye opening for me to hear logically and without judgement or a holier than thou attitude how to defend the faith of Christianity. I found it so beautiful and empowering all of the thought and kindness behind your words. And now I feel like I have a whole new way to approach my faith and defend my faith if need be. And hopefully share my beliefs with others. Merry Christmas and God bless.

What matters is that we have a relationship with Jesus himself and a relationship with God through Jesus. Matt 23 verses 8-12 says to call no man father or master except our father in heaven and our master Jesus Christ. 1 Tim 2 verse 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. If you believe Christ saved you and you live for him we are brothers. We don’t need to claim a denomination. I grew up Lutheran got saved at a Baptist church but I live for him not claiming anything except Christ and what he does
@@JeremyWinkels well said brother! Although I am fiercely proud to be a Catholic and up my Catholic Heritage, everything you say is true what matters most of all is our relationship with Jesus and he is the bridge that brings us to God. I truly love that we can have this discussion. And thanks again to the warrior-poet for bringing this up
Love the definition of faith. I’ve never heard it explained that way. “Faith is not being blind to it but to be certain of what you can’t see. Excellent. Thank you.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6
The world will basically tell you there are MANY truths---and/or many ways to heaven via many different religions. The truth is, there are many roads to hell, but only ONE WAY to heaven. You may have thought, or heard it said: "What's good for me may not be good for you, and what's good for you may not be good for me."....or..."I'm okay---you're okay---everybody is okay!"...or, "What you believe is not what I believe about God, religion, or theology or vise versa." BUT, there IS a truth, and it is the ABSOLUTE truth---and only ONE ABSOLUTE TRUTH! And it only comes thru Jesus Christ, and it is ultimately YOUR OWN CHOICE whether you want to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation or not to believe. Nobody can choose for you, and nobody can make you choose---God has given us the free will to choose, or not to choose. In a nutshell, there is a devil named "Satan" who wants to deceive you so that you will NOT choose for Jesus Christ and end up in hell for eternity. Jesus Christ wants you to go to heaven, but repenting and BELIEVING in Him (become "born-again/saved") is the only way a person can get there. This absolute truth is all found in God's Word, the Bible. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him." Hebrews 11:6 "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father (in heaven) except by Me." Jesus Christ John 14:6

I love your description of a church.... A “hospital of sinners”! God bless you John. Before I came to know Jesus almost 50 years ago, as a kid growing up.... it always seemed so obvious to me that because so many people would freak out at the name of Jesus, that was “proof” to me that He was real......the simple faith of a child!
The wife and I just listened to this on a road trip from Savannah to Charleston to see my dad. We absolutely enjoyed it and learned some things along the way! Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Now about to jump over to the WPSN to watch a video or 2 and finish out the ride! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Wow I feel so blessed to have clicked on this gem! This has to be one of John’s best videos to date. I learned so much about how to witness to others thank you John! 👍🇺🇸
I was frustrated with organized Christianity and took a break. Someone told me to forget all the dogma, and just read the words in red - the words of Christ. It changed my life. Merry Christmas Warrior Poets!
I can understand that to a large extent but it's time to man up: "obey all that I have commanded" and "If you love me, keep my commandments." Where are his commandments? In red, but not just in red, the whole thing. And that whole book will drive your life. You had a recoil reaction, a pendulum swing, too extreme of a jump. Maybe it was needed for a short season to heal but red letter onlyism is not full blooded Christianity, it's Christianity lite, or anemic Christianity. It's alive but weak and confused. The word works all together. Don't be intimidated by the book or by theology. You can start a systematic learning approach with a series like RC Sproul's legendary "Dust to Glory." God Bless You in Jesus' name.
@@christianuploads8292 hey bud you sound like you have spent some time studying the Bible. I have as well. I would really enjoy a back and forth discussion on the topic. I’ll start by saying i believe in the completed work of Christ on the cross by faith alone. What i have learned recently is that God is working with different people at different times for different reasons. First we need to identify what time period we are living in then who we are to God in that time and what is Gods purpose for us at that time. I believe we are no longer living during the period of the contractual Law of God but living in the dispensation of gentile Grace. Because of this we are not looking forward to the kingdom on earth but our conversation will be in the heavenly places. This also means that the doctrine for our daily lives and eternal future are found in the mystery revealed to Paul by Christ in the 13 epistles Paul wrote. All of scripture is for our learning and education but not all of it is for our edification. Hope to hear your thoughts
God Bless you John Lovell! I have been on a similar search. I am proud of how outspoken you are, how willing you are to share your faith, and how cool you remain in the face of opposition. I can stand to learn so much from you. All of your topics are things that I have been struggling with. I too am a man of God, a leader for God, and warrior/protector for God, but seem to be the black sheep in most church circles. Over the last couple of years, I have started finding a few Christian men with similar views and we have been craving content such as this. Keep up the good work and let me know how I can help. Predictive programming; Jesus should not offend anyone however people have been programmed to think it is offensive, therefore reacting in a negative way.
But people were so offended by him in His own time that they killed Him. This is pre-programming, however I think you are absolutely right that folks have also been programmed to recoil at the name
He should offend though. He should offend our sinful nature and we should feel uncomfortable about it. That’s an important part of conversion. He told us himself that He came to divide.
@@LiLIrishSoutherner yes and no.. I try to live my life Accordingly with how Christ wants us to live our lives. I'm far from perfect, but like all Christians, I am forgiven! I have had and seen more blessings from God In the last couple of weeks then I can even believe.. it just takes doing your best AND giving it to God, knowing that HE will surely take care of his children, if he takes care of the birds and bees then how would he not take care of his children... **Although He was there even when I wasn't living my life as he wanted, since I have been praising God everyday, and living my life as best as I possibly can He has given my family and I blessings beyond my wildest dreams... It's truly humbling to know that God, being so great and forgiving hasn't forgotten me or let me down...
I'm not a religious person, but I don't look at those who are any different. Everyone gets treated the same by me no matter who they are. Would I sacrifice my life for you? Damn right. And I would hope others would do the same for me. Much love to all poet's and have a Merry Christmas!
"so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
As a devout Christian, I don't want to be held accountable to God, but it is not dependent on what I want or don't. But thank God for our Savior! Lord knows, I don't have righteousness in my actions.
This is 100% accurate! I CAN NOT agree more. People hate being held accountable for their deeds. That is one of the reasons women fights so hard to keep abortions legal. Not that I want to open a can of worms. Just using this one as an example
Actually, I’ll flip it on you. I don’t need an idea of a creator to be a good person to others. I do it when no one upstairs is watching. I also don’t need the idea of a creator to to prevent me from being bad. I don’t need the idea to be held accountable for my deeds to be a good person. If I die and am actually judged by a god being for not believing in him and therefore get sent to wh hell as a good person, yet the guy in line behind me who has committed many bad things as a Christian and goes to heaven because he did believe...then I have no desire worshiping that sort of god anyway and will show my self out on my own.
"You must make your choice: either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. " - C. S. Lewis
But in 1st Peter 3:15 we're told "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."
Most people hate the exclusivity of Christianity, that there is no other way to come to Jesus but will readily buy into the requirements of joining, say, a membership to a gun club or gym without raising a stink. John is talking eternity, a forever destination here!
When the one saying that heals the unhealble, raises the dead, dies for us and then is raised from the dead you shouldn't worry about being a little uncomfortable. I ask my self what good things could I do to be worthy enough to be with a perfect God in heaven? The answer is nothing. I can't work my way in. Salvation is a gift that God gives us. Take the greatest gift ever given and follow him.
People get itchy because they don't want to let go of being their own god. What despot willingly surrenders his absolute power to another? It's all an illusion, but they can't see that. They are slaves to sin.
I've been saying this a couple years now: there is power in His name. I'm a lifelong Christian who wrestles with his faith, like every other Christian, I suppose. "I believe, oh Lord; help thou my unbelief!" has become my defining verse these last few years. But having worked in many different jobs and having had many groups of friends, I've noticed that you can mention any religion, quote any guru or deity, but the second you mention Jesus, people get uptight. There is a REASON for that. There must be. Belief can come from positive or negative experiences. I have reconciled myself with this. Why do we, as humans, gravitate towards the numinous throughout our history? And why, out of all the gods and religions, does Christianity garner such a potent reaction from people? Those two points on the graph cannot be ignored. Jesus Christ is Lord. God bless you all. Merry Christmas, J
You can help moderate that reaction. Constantly bringing up religion, preach and judge others based on their belief and you will reinforce their negative responses. If you only discuss religion when appropriate, and then only gently - you will find that people are not objecting to Jesus but to you.
@@TheGosslings - Welcome. We’re all facing the same threats. The more fudds and non-firearm owners recognize the depth (and profoundness) of these threats, the stronger we will be.
Preah it John! People are offended because the truth hurts... It makes me proud to see you standing up for our Faith.. God Bless. "Whoever acknowledges me, I will remember to my Father.. "Whoever denies me, I will not remember before my Father..."
On people "freaking out" at the name of Jesus: Matthew 10:34. Christ refers to himself as the great divider. There will be those who follow him, and those who will not, creating division among families, friends, states, nations. We are in times now where people are becoming more resistant to ideals they don't agree with or understand, and this leads to more outcry and anger against the name of the man who calls them to account for what they believe in a time when society is used to getting whatever they want. Amen to what you said, and blessings to you for saying it. God bless you and family, and Merry Christmas!
Watched the whole thing, very good! I have great respect for you. Would love to meet and hang out with you someday, if nothing else on the new earth lol

I have taken 3 worldview and religion classes which covered most of the arguments that you made and there is no way I could have argued those points as well as you did! Well done! Keep up the good work and stay bold in your faith!
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:15. Well done, John!
If He was just a guy, then there wouldn't be this stigma. This is perfect evidence that He was and is the living son of God. The stigma is mostly in part because if we admit and believe who Jesus truly is, then we must be willing to be held accountable for our sinful human selves. This is something that makes people very uncomfortable so they just dismiss it as just another old story.
You hit the nail on the head there. “For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:22-24 ESV www.bible.com/59/1co.1.22-24.esv
Sorry I missed the live stream but glad I watched. I have a tenuous relationship with organized religion so my saying to you “Mr. Lovell, if you were a preacher, I’d likely attend your service.” is the greatest compliment I could give. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
Thank you for sharing your faith John.. You’ve definitely helped shift my perspective on what it means not only to be a Christ follower but a Warrior Poet willing to sacrifice my life just like Christ for those I love.

Thank you for the love you share with the world. Merry Christmas!

Much respect, John. I’ve never had the discipline to study nearly as much as it’s clear you have. Thanks for the links and for speaking boldly.

A great hour spent listening to you. Thanks and God bless.
I'm just now starting to get into the theology side of things and I love hearing from this side of the "Warrior Poet" aspect and am excited to hear more!
I have a great recommendation if your honestly looking to dive deeper into your studies.
Great video John; for King Jesus! May y'all have a merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!
Fantastic video! Your knowledge impressed me.
Seek real truth, not just what you want to btruth.

I was a hardcore atheist and I also lived a life that was, well, wicked to say the least. I got saved 5 years ago and called to pastor.

This video has been a yearly rewatch for me around Christmas time, since you have posted it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in and around your faith. I and many others appreciate you and what WPS does. Merry Christmas to you and your family, John!
I'm 58 years old and in all those years I have never heard anyone even come close to saying or feeling the way that I feel inside. You my friend if I may call you that are so eloquently spoken and dead on the money, I hope you see this I just found it on here. God bless you and your family and thank you for your service. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you to have a Happy New Year.
MERRY Christmas brother.
And a blessed New Year.
Fascinating discussion, merry Christmas everyone! Man you’re a deep thinker that’s why your fun to watch everything has meaning.
Thank you!!!! I am a Christian, a Catholic to be specific, it is awesome that you took the time and this format to spread the good word and the truth. You are truly a poet. Thanks brother
We Catholics got called out on this one. Strange, huh?
@@jroegiers I'm not upset about it...I dont believe called out as much as he just voiced his opinion...I'm proud to be a Christian and proud to be a Catholic. Wish there were more discussions like this
What matters is that we have a relationship with Jesus himself and a relationship with God through Jesus.
Excellent. Thank you.

Or no ads and no $ for John :(
The world will basically tell you there are MANY truths---and/or many ways to heaven via many different religions.
Chad S. The previous comment by me was NOT intended for you----rather towards "muderbits"....I found myself in your "reply" section by mistake, sorry brother :)
What struck me most of what you said is, if it’s that controversial, it’s that important.
I love this , Thank you! " Keep on Kicking on the Gates of hell," I am worthy of the Battle !
AMEN!!!!
You can start a systematic learning approach with a series like RC Sproul's legendary "Dust to Glory."
God Bless You in Jesus' name.
I thought all my hero’s were dead you are the man keep it up!!!
So much respect to you for being able to speak about Jesus Christ, you motivate me to share the gospel with others and not be ashamed.
Predictive programming; Jesus should not offend anyone however people have been programmed to think it is offensive, therefore reacting in a negative way.
But people were so offended by him in His own time that they killed Him. This is pre-programming, however I think you are absolutely right that folks have also been programmed to recoil at the name
I thought we liked Recoil?
He should offend though. He should offend our sinful nature and we should feel uncomfortable about it. That’s an important part of conversion. He told us himself that He came to divide.

Bottom line: No one wants to be accountable to a Creator and they get upset when you challenge that.
@@henryknoetze9579 Right on! It is only one of many examples , but a great examples!
Absolutely, spot on.
" - C. S. Lewis
I don’t need all the answers, that’s why they call it faith.
But in 1st Peter 3:15 we're told "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear."

Good job John. Lots of kindred spirits out here. Fortunately he wasn’t “just a dude”! Blessings this Christmas!
Jesus said He’s the way, truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through Him. He’s the only way to God...that’s why people get itchy.
Bob Lott amen bob. Very well said 🤙✝️
Ian Helyar “their own god”. Exactly right. People don’t want to hear the s. i. n. word. Too offensive.
Merry Christmas,
J
You can help moderate that reaction. Constantly bringing up religion, preach and judge others based on their belief and you will reinforce their negative responses. If you only discuss religion when appropriate, and then only gently - you will find that people are not objecting to Jesus but to you.
@@finngamesknudson1457 Those are some profound assumptions on your part. Thanks for proving my point.

1 Peter 3:15.
