The Keurig & the ninja works good for a year if you're lucky. Then you have to pamper them to get them to work. One thing I like better about the ninja is it accepts more pods than the Keurig does. Meaning you don't ever get the message saying the pods not compatible. But for health reasons you probably are better off with the French press. I'm thinking about going that route myself, more reliable.
A bigger health concern is raising your cholesterol levels by drinking unfiltered coffee. French press or any coffee not brewed through a paper filter contains diterpenes kahweol and cafestol which are essentially fats that can raise your LDL (bad cholesterol). This is something I dealt with while drinking French press coffee and had to switch back to paper filtered coffee which catches and filters out these two lipids. I also prefer to drink coffee that hasn't gone through a plastic machine but options are limited. The only other option is the use of a pour over with a paper filter.

They even make whole home ones that fill into a reservoir. It automatically distills the water for you as you use it all you have to do is clean out the chamber every now and again with descaler. Thats how i plan on getting as many micro plastics out of my diet as possible. Only reason I recommend durastill is because they use 316 steel instead of 304.
OMG. This is one of the funniest things I've seen on UA-cam! Even the bad edits/cuts add to the hilarity. You sir have what it takes to be a top youtuber, so keep it up. Btw, I also love my french press, but lately I've been experimenting with the Turkish/cowboy style brewing. It tastes even better with the fuller body and richer texture. I grind my beans super fine and let the grounds settle to the bottom before drinking. Keep on keeping it real and staying honest!

I've had the Ninja coffeemaker for over a year and LOVE it. Makes great coffee, uses grounds if you don't like using disposable pods, fabulous design, narrow profile fits in just about any kitchen. I use a stainless steel reusable pod and it works perfectly.
Great point! The kettle is made from cheap crappy aluminum with plastic pieces so I’m sure it’s horrible as well. I had a glass one that broke, but it had a plastic top and thin metal bottom too. Probably the ‘safest’ way to boil is in a full metal kettle on the stove top. That’s slow though.
I was about to buy this coffee maker when I saw the first few minutes of your video. I was pretty annoyed but I sat and thought about it for a few days and as much as I wanted to buy it I realized you're right. But that also leads me to believe most drip coffee makers are likely made of mostly plastic internal parts? So I'm now pivoting to an all stainless steel percolator. I really hate using the press. Any other thoughts on possible coffee makers that aren't just liquid plastic?
I hear you man, the press is a real bugger to clean. Stainless perc is kinda the same. I did cowboy coffee for a while (grinds in a David’s tea tea strainer, that kinda works but reverted back to the giant French so I can drink 2L per day with relative ease. But I tried using the french press afterward and used the percolator filters (wet the filter onto the french press plunger thing) and it eliminates grounds in the cup and makes it a bit easier to clean. Thought you might be interested in trying it.
I'm older now and had plastic bottles, cups, bowls, and all of it and still kicking. It's jsut another thing they are trying to grab on to, to explain poor eating habits, lack of exercise, all the poisons they put in our foods, etc. Worry less about plastics and more about additives in food and how they are processed.
Have you tried a Chemex pour over? That’s my favorite way of making coffee. Just the glass container with paper filter. Makes clean up really easy. I have a bodum French press also but I don’t use it very often.

Ninja products do look pretty fancy. However, I'm with you - we need to cut down on all the plastics in our environment. Just thinking about all the plastic contamination in that one cup of coffee is eye opening. I love my french press - it is glass and I love the flavour of the fresh ground coffee beans. Yes absolutely. Better coffee. All plunger type French presses work basically the same. More expensive ones look nicer and might last a bit longer. This one was $15 about 10 years ago at Canadian tire. Logistona

My wife has to drink decaf and I can't wake up without a little caffeine. We have owned two Hamilton Beach 'The Scoop's, last one lasted 8 years of daily use before it started leaking out the bottom of the unit (plastic hose from the boiler reservoir). Was gonna buy this Ninja to try a different brand but I get all the plastic concerns. French press is a pain in the butt to clean in my opinion.

Great question. Answer: mountain springs. Seriously. I drive out once a month to fill up my plastic jugs. Keep them cold and out of the sun and they don’t degrade. Plastic has a melting point, heat degrades it. If you don’t live near a spring that’s drinkable sorry but you’re screwed.

I've tried all sorts of coffee making devices and I used to be against trying french press, but I am a french press convert. 1 good cup of french press is better than 2-3 cups other types of coffee.
Percolator is better if making coffee for more than 2 person... Been using the same electric percolator for about 18 years and still works amazing...made of steel I think 🤔... 😂... little nozzle made of plastic 😅😅😅😂😂
