Lattes, the milk froth is done first yes, but select the specialty brew, 4oz. of coffee, which will leave the froth at the top instead of mixing it in. 😂 use a glass cup & it looks pretty 😊
UPDATE: I just now brewed a cup of coffee using the name brand Donut Shop Coffee pod using 8oz classic brew setting, and it tastes just right for me! So, for some reason, the Ninja makes a weaker version of my former favorite, cheaper coffee pod, whereas it brews the name brand coffee pod just right. I guess I will just have to pay a little more for my coffee pods. So I tried my new Ninja out three times now. Twice yesterday and once this morning. I used a store brand donut shop coffee pod, which is my go-to and my favorite pod to use in my Keurig (which finally pooped out after six years). I used the 8oz classic brew, and it seemed watered down. So I tried again using the 8oz rich brew, same thing. I thought maybe it was just my taster. This morning, I tried again and frothed my french vanilla creamer. I used the same amount of liquid creamer that I usually use (which is probably way too much), frothed it, took half out to set aside, and brewed a 8oz, rich cup into the remaining frothed creamer. The coffee didn't mix into the creamer well while it brewed, so I stirred it...a lot. It was hard to mix the frothed creamer into the coffee with it being so thick. Then, I topped the coffee with the reserved creamer I had set aside. It was good, but it still seemed a bit watered down, not a rich cup of coffee like my Keurig made. I guess my next step will be to use a richer coffee pod and see if that satisfies. I always liked the taste of my go-to pod but not with this machine. Oh, and about the frothed creamer version....it was good if you like the froth. I will stick to straight creamer in my coffee! 😊
I find using a reusable k-cup with a coarse ground coffee like you would use for cold brews results in a richer coffee flavor when brewed. Sorry I drink coffee ☕️ on the daily and won’t lie I am quite a coffee snob. My favorite coffee is Schuil Coffee. They offer different flavors both caffeinated and in decaf, you can also get coarse cold brew grinds, whole bean, espresso grinds and drip just depends on your preferences.
The head of the unit can be stored in either a 110° or 180° angle (180° leaving a gap where the top of the unit connects to the waterline) Which angle is preferred for storage when unit not in use?
If you let the coffee from the k cup sit a few minutes, it tastes much better. For some reason, I noticed this more with this machine. Maybe it brews a little hotter than a keurig. I like to use 10 oz rich setting.
Thank you for your video it was very good. I came across it while searching for how to use the little rubber unclogging tool. I just unboxed my new ninja today I look forward to using it.
I saw other guy’s video he used frothed milk cup same way but the mode was speciality and his coffee stayed frothed. Now idk if it is because of the mode or something else.
I just purchased this machine because I’ve had FOUR brand new Keurigs that have broken within months of using it. Keurig keeps replacing them for free but I’m tired of the machines breaking down. I like the ability to brew pods OR grounds with this and I love the milk frother.
After using it for around one month, I can segregate my review into two ways.. if you like the kcup pods then this machine is very good choice for you, however, it came only with single needle 🪡 which different than the new models of kuerig machine which came with 5 needle to distribute the water flow across all over your coffee which is inside the pod. In this case, for me, kuerig new machine with 5 needle much doing better job than ninja single needle of brewing k cup of coffee. But the advantage here that ninja also doing two types of coffee, one is classic which is normal brewing of water speed while brewing while other option you can go for over rich, which reduces the speed of water passed through your coffee and give you stronger coffee taste even with the single needle. But kuerig machine can do both rich as well as 5 needles of brewing😅 so always kuerig for me take the credit. Anyhow, the good things here is the reusable filter basket thay it can hold alot of table spoon. In kuerig you can purchase the extra adapter for holding the ground coffee and it fit for the same size of k cup which is only 2 table spoon while ninja having its own filter basket with a good distribution of water through your ground coffee and it can handle upto 7 table spoon and you can go for 24 onces against kuerig which only can take 12 onces and with 2 table spoon only in kuerig the 12 oz will be very light cup of coffee.. so ninja here can take the credit😍
@@TheAverageKitchen The thanks will always come towards you as well. Without seeing your review, I couldn't know about this great machine..! So thank you for your excellent review for one of the great coffee maker called by Ninja😍
@@TheBenzoHouse yah I can understand this point. It's really horrible to upgrade the technology everytime while discontinued the old version. People cant purchase machine everytime and also very hard to sell the machine since no one will be able to purchase discontinued technology which no more being used. I believe from company points of view they should do a replacement with our old machine with new one buy letting us to pay a little amount of money😓
@TheBenzoHouse we've had 3 Kuriegs they just don't last long these days. Just had to trash one after less than a year even after descaling every 8 weeks . Won't be buying another one.
@@TheAverageKitchenit looks like it from the product photos and your close-up shots (such as 5:06). Looks like 3 plastic nozzles with coffee coming out of the center. Maybe two are fake nozzles?
I got this machine and love it, but it ask me to clean it, it takes more than 1 hour then I used it once or twice and it ask me to clean up again!!! Anyone has this issue?
I'm in the States but love my freshly ground Tim Hortons every morning. My perspective on this unit: Even with only one needle (compared to newer Keurigs having five) the coffee from K-cup pods was much better from this machine than the Keurig I tried and returned. I couldn't get the Keurig machine to brew a K-cup that wasn't bitter and it always tasted "off". The Ninja was much smoother without the chemical aftertaste from the Keurig. I didn't like that filter for the grounds in the Ninja was a flat basket type. Unless you're brewing a fairly large batch it spreads the grounds out pretty thin. The instructions state that this machine IS NOT compatible with reusable K-cup pods nor can it use paper filters. Both a negative, but I was able to get both to work. I used a reusable pod from Perfect Pod successfully. I just had to make sure it was seated correctly and the lid of the Ninja closed, but YMMV. I also was able to use paper basket filters meant for 5 cup drip coffemakers.(I can't stand mesh filtered coffee.) I put them inside the mesh filter and made sure the sides were gathered and pressed against the sides of the mesh basket. No problems with water flow and coffee was smooth and yummy. In the end I returned it because the unit, while narrow, is just too long on my narrow countertop. Plus I really wanted a combined unit that makes a full pot and does single cups instead of using two machines. I ordered the Ninja Dual Brew CFP301. I can't give an opinion on that machine as I have yet to receive it.
The k cup doesn’t work well at all if you like the cappuccino drinks, it doesn’t saturate and remove all the mix in the pod. It just flows over and your cappuccino drink is mostly water. The coffee pot etc is great, if you like pods take hard pass on this unit.
The reason why someone who doesn't like coffee shouldn't be reviewing a coffee maker is because you can't tell people if it makes a good cup of coffee. As far as the latte, you are supposed to froth up the milk hit the specialty Brew button, which only allows you to make a 4 oz cup, and then it makes a beautiful latte.
Well the coffee is just K-cups, so it's not going to taste any differently than usual. And we should the frother works, so I respectfully disagree. Thanks for watching! - J
@TheAverageKitchen Well, you showed that it did not make a correct latte. Someone who doesn't do extra research may choose not to buy the unit because of that. As far as the K-Cups, some machines make it weaker than others. A coffee drinker with no all of this. This is just my constructive and honest review of your review. Edit, I forgot to mention in the video I believe you even say, "That doesn't look like a latte, or it doesn't make a very good latte" or something similar
Yeah, you should definitely have an actual coffee drinker help you with the features and use of this coffee maker. Oof. That being said, thank you enlightening us on the use of the frother because I do not see myself actively holding the cup up to the frother for 40 seconds and staring into space while my life ticks away (jk, a little). I think I'll go with the Keurig with the frother cup. Thanks again.
Tim Horton's is no longer Canadian and has not been so for many years. It is owned by a Canadian corporation which is owned primarily by a Brazilian investment firm. Besides, their coffee sucks.
Why not? We're not reviewing the coffee. It is what it is and that's subjective anyway. Just because we don't drink coffee doesn't mean we can't see if the thing works or not. Thanks for watching! - J
