Soul Train attracted the most beautiful people... inside and out!
She could not only dance, but she was in excellent physical condition also, flipping in heels is/was no light accomplishment. She still looks like she can cut a rug...
As a child, when I watched Soul Train, I could feel the love and positivity through my television screen. It was real. It was genuine. It could not be faked and these interviews are all the proof anyone needs. I am so grateful for this channel. These days, we all could use a little love, peace, and soul.
INDEED !
That pink outfit was fierce!
it really was!
@@soultrain And then when she spinned around in it...gave it life!
I could watch these Soul Train stories all day.
I've literally been watching these since this morning🤣 so about 3 hours... STRAIGHT!
Wouldn't be nice to see all the dancers showcased back dancing together one last time? We're all older now, but it would be so nice to see if while they were dancing the video editor's could highlight their younger selves with how they're now. Give a thumbs up if you like this idea?
David Edwards, I don't know if they would be able to get up off the floor, if they tried to do some of the stuff now that they did back in the day! LOL!! I'm almost 60 myself and when my children see me trying to dance to Soul Train videos now, they say, "Momma, don't even do it, so we don't have to help you back up!
@@tammyc259 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I guess we're all getting older. Merry Christmas from California.
Yessssss that would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love this idea
@@tammyc259 I really think some of them could still do it, maybe not as hard or going down to the floor....but they probably still got it for the most part.
You were one of my favorite dancer. In fact, it's why I started to dance, and still do. So. Thank you so very much! Peace
Keep dancing 💃cause when these clubs open back I will definitely be going shake a tail feathers!💃🔥
@@rachelr375 Lmbo.. You go girl..
That's so sweet
What a phenomenal era, show, music, styles and real beauty! ❤️💯💪🏻🎶💥👏🏻 TAKE US ALL BACK ASAP!! 🙏🏻
This was truly a very beautiful time for black America!!!
So glad they did not leave her out. She was a vital element to the show as well.
Anyone who wasn't born in the 80s would remember how amazing Soul Train use to be. 80s babies missed out
I would have liked to be born at that time because it is my favorite era for clothes, music, etc...,
I was 70's Soul Train when it all started! But my younger Brothers watched Soul Train in the 80's anf this was their Lady!! ."LEGS" "THE LEGS" That was their Soul Train Dancer!!!
I grew up as a little girl watching Soul Train, during the 1970s. My two favorite Era's for Soul Train were the 1970s & 1980s. I loved the Fashions, Music and Togetherness from those two Decades. Well I'll speak for myself and say that my fondest memories would always be towards the 70s & 80s✨
@@toussaintjulie3171 , I was Teenager Lady, during the 1980s. I loved the Fashion from my youth Years. The 70s & 80s were two Unique Decades that we would never see again. I wouldn't even hesitate entering into a Time Machine.
I was born in the late 70s and remember those 80s episodes. This woman here was amongst the best.
She was beautiful and fierce and could dance her but off! She always looked like she was having fun. It was a fun time with the best music ever...
OMG these are so good!!!!! She is JAMMING!
Miss Soul Train sooo much
She was freaking stunning !!!
Love this series and would love to own all the interviews on blu ray.
You can also download these videos on the UA-cam mobile app
Diana is an incredible beautiful dancer inside and out, I really enjoyed watching this clip on her journey as a Soultrain Dancer.
Keeps these comin!!!
so glad you like them!
@@soultrain please have Crystal Calhoun and Leonette Scott.
@@soultrain Whatever ever happened to one of my favorite Soultrain dancer of all times, Sherri Foster. 78/ 81 somewhere around that time.
Good Lord she was a knockout!! Beauty for days!..... So fine!
What a beautiful woman. I love her style.
The cartoons on this series are so cute!!
I have really enjoyed this series, I remember going to my great grandma's house on Saturdays when I was a kid and watching Soul Train. And of course dancing in the living room while it was on 😍
Almost never seen someone so beautiful 😍😍😍 #blackgirlmagic
I remember her well, she danced so well and was pretty.
I love watching dancers just dancing and moving naturally, no choreography needed.
I love soul train show dancers.
Thank you for making Saturday nights SPECIAL!
Brilliant! This is soooooooo fun to watch. Just culturally satisfying and insightful. So well done.
All these dancers were so great!
She knew how to dance on the Soul train line
Love Her
She’s Gorge
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL LADY
This is awesome God bless you this puts such a smile on my face❤🙏🙌✝️🕊🔥🌈
The dancers from the 70s have the top spot in Soul Train's history.
I MISS SOUL TRAIN
She's gorgeous wow😍😍
These videos make me so HAPPY!! Thank you!!
We're glad you like them!
I just love her.
You can tell she was a a model. Great body.
Gorgeous and talented! I enjoyed watching Diana Hicks shimmy down that Soul Train Line with her beautiful style! ❤️❤️
OMG you can buy that outfit 3:21 right now.
the talent pool out of Chicago is just unreal
I watched Soul Train many times when I was little. I enjoyed watching it on AFKN TV(American Forces Korean Network)
She was great going down the line
Soul Train is the reason I know how to dance.
Yess,I’m so glad she had a career apart from being on the show .
i love women thanks lord for your creation
Man l miss soul train
And solid gold ... they just don't make shows like these anymore!!!
I remember!!!!! :)
I love it when I hear Chicago people stories cuz that’s home ❤️💯❤️
OOOOOHHH WEEEE if only I would have known you was doing these splits and flips when I was doing your hair! I would have paying you lol ! Loved watching this!
Great interview! Great times
I loved her! Wonderful dancer!
What a gorgeous figure
...such a dope interview series!!
oh snap!! 3:35 she was dance partners with the Que Dawg!!
LOVE HER!!
Man, This Lady is Queen Latifa’s OG- I kept looking at her and thinking that she looked so familiar- her smile, the way she kinda talks outta the side of her mouth and then it hit me❗️⚡️💥⚡️❗️QUEEN LATIFA❗️But SHE IS DEF THE OG❗️
Great dancer and she was smart too!!! Awesome!
She still Good
AWESOME..
As a Kid I had a slight crush on her she had a swag and a smile and smooth dancing
Let me tell you I loved watching her cause she was tall like me and could move lol. Wouldn't trade when I was born cause I experienced ST in every decade it was on. I was a little girl in the 70s watching with my mom and watching her do the dances so much I used to tell my classmates in elementary school my mom danced on ST lol. Mind you we lived in Florida lol. I miss Soul Train the early years when everybody danced. Diana was one of the real dancers left when the women started posing and not dancing. Loved watching her.
I miss the show
Don Cornelius @ 0:38 is fly as Fu#k!
I love this🥰
SOUL TRAIN is BLACK HISTORY 🖤👑🖤👑🦋2022
Chicago stories are the best.
Can you feature Sandy Hall? Whats she up yo now.. i used to work with her in 93 when she was on soul train
Back then when she was dancing, she reminds me of a younger Jackie Christie! They favor to me!
Look how beautiful these black women were and how they were portrayed with grace and style. Now they just want to exclude all that beautiful melanin and wanna call women b's and h's.
Beauty and Brains and she kilt that snake!!!!
Good music !
Soul train put American bandstand on the back burner.
I never knew this show had to cast the dancers. I thought they were randoms from the street that line up each weekend to be on the show on first come basis.
And she still fine to this day. Black don't crack.
My time watching this was in the 90s so all of the 70s clips crack me up. But my daughter thinks the dances in the 90s is funny
Sexy, beautiful and fine. What I'd loved about those years was seeing dancers from all over the country, on the show. So far I've seen, Chitown, New York area, L.A. and Orange county area and several more. I wonder if anyone from Motown was on this show? I wouldn't be surprised.
Do you know how many white people tuned in to watch these black people do what we do.
Yep! American Bandstand didnt have that swag! It was no match.
@@mreynol1Dick Clark thought he could show up DC. He tried it and lost badly in court
@@jasonbyrd1840 I gave it an honest chance. I watched an episode here on youtube. I just wasnt feeling it.
@@mreynol1 Soul Train was a life within itself and you either a part of the culture or a guest. And black people can't be duplicated. I love all kinds of people, but you can't irritate the fabric of our cultural/spiritual/emotional DNA.
@@jasonbyrd1840 Amen to that!
3:27 in pink was she on something
We need a modern soul train but still keeping with funk and disco style music, I don't wanna hear no lady gaga or katy perry on there
it's dope to look at the cartoon parts and u can tell who there are
These dancers grow old gracefully. Omg!
That's coz "Good Black Don't Crack! Neither Does it Bag or Sag!" Sidenote: It does 'melt' tho, so remember to moisturize! One LOVE TO ALL!
It’s the Soul Train genes!
@@theknow7557 💯
Ikr most of them are in their late 60 or early 60s and don't look it
That's because they keep doing what they love
YES! This is my blood auntie! She’s always been this amazing and this beautiful from what I remember growing up! I love you auntie this is amazing I love you!!!😍😍
Awwwww 💛
@Jade Cheatham WOW!! This is your aunt?? Awesome 👌🏾👌🏾
Your auntie was a fabulous dancer. They need to come out with Soul Train Dancer Barbie Dolls, and make one after her. I would buy it.
Nice! I’m over here in Chicago & to hear she’s from this city it cool. She was gettin it on that dance floor too! *Stay safe everyone*
Awww she's beautiful! She had some great times! ❤
Soul train should be on dvd from each decade. Its history
ua-cam.com/video/Cxdgrb4U1hY/v-deo.html
I would buy in a heartbeat
Agreed
Same here I’ll buy it
Yes! A box set. I would buy it and it would be nice if the money would go to the dancers.
The fact that she was hot but conservative, and dancing a snake dance down the Soul Train line but writing about sports...
We stan a well-rounded queen. 😍🔥
What a beautiful sister wow 😍.
Yes!
Yes yes
One of the few female dancers that actually danced! She wasn't doing the cute girl bounce. She really danced!
I want Rosie Perez former ST Dancer '86-'88 Now!!!!!!!!!
@@clarencesimmons8580 I didnt know she was on there for that short period of time.
I thought she was on there longer.
flips cartwheels splits rollbacks.....i love it!
Loved her style and energy and was thrilled to see Diana on TV each week. Plenty of great childhood memories of us growing up dancing all of the time. Hope to reconnect with Diana❤‼️
I love how slim, fit and natural their bodies were.
...n the modern hair man. What's with this straight n wet look. The tight curls were sexy
Back in the day we played outside, helped our parents with house chores, hulla hooped, jumping rope , skating eating home cooked meals . Not fast foods unless It was a treat once in a while. People helped each other out. We were more in UNITY 💪👊👍
@@malakahbanathyasharahla2302 exactly that part
She had an amazing figure 😍
Yep, before GMO / Franken foods...SMDH!
When I was little, I thought these were just regular audience members who just really knew how to dance! lol
LOL So did I!!! XD
Me too!!!!!
Thought it was just me! 😂
Yes me too
wait.....but most were regular viewers who got inspired to join in....i think that's what we looooove about all this. yassss
She was a bad one! That flip she did in that micro mini skirt and heels is legendary
She's gorgeous now but then she was otherworldly beautiful. Stunning woman. Perfect mix of classy, elegant and sexy.
She still looks gorgeous
I just love how all of the former dancers say that it was just a wonderful experience. They all describe that environment as a “family-type” atmosphere, where people just had fun and lifted each other up (as opposed to many sad and traumatic stories of people in entertainment). I just love that so much!
Beautiful woman, lovely natural body and her style!
These outfits are giving me life🔥🔥🔥.She was beautiful still looks young .
I would LOVE to see BET do a Soul Train reboot special bringing back dancers from the beginning up through the 90s. I was working as an RN in the early 90s at the one particular hospital...and on Saturday morning no matter how sick those patients were when you were in their room they had SOUL TRAIN on...I would linger a little longer to catch an act while giving meds or doing a treatment....never will forget that it was nice to see patients smile...and if they could nod their head to the beat
You captured so much style, beauty, and grace with your athleticism. You were and would still be an absolute dream to dance with.
Those Rosie Perez Cartoons are Hilarious!!!! OMG!!!! - 1:31
Yes 😆
I laughed so hard! 😂
Aargh, you beat me to it! But, yeah. 😆
I just peeped that. 😂
😭😭😩
Man this is an attractive woman...smh
She is so beautiful! And that leopard outfit 🤎🤎🤎
Bring back Soulllllll Train and the world will become a better place!💃❤️🕺!
exactly
It needs to be updated and brought back.
I wholeheartedly agree!!💃🕺💞💋💝✌🎶🙌🤗
I love these, because I wanted to be on Soul Train so badly as a kid!! Its nice to know that the dancers had as much fun as we did watching it!! ❤
