I think Swiss German will get independent in future ‘cause it is too different to be the same language. Something like this happened in Luxembourg 🇱🇺. Since 1992 Luxembourgish dialect of German became Luxembourgish language. So now they have 3 languages. French which they use every day, German which they use in news 📰, Scientific articles and Luxembourgish which Young generation use every day with French😊. Sorry for my English, it is not native language so I could make mistakes😅
The German woman has a very strong english accent.
She is not German or English...most likely Iranian etc...

Like for example the Ich would be written as Isch etc
@@charlesharrison4077 she is not a Canadian maybe she emigrated with her family but she was already 10-12 years old, her Iranian accent is still there which means she was already old enough and her first language is Iranian and not english

Yes. Swabian (spoken in southwestern Germany) and Swiss German are both Alemannic dialects and hence have a lot of similarities. Northern German dialects on the other hand tend to have a lot in common with the Dutch and Scandinavian languages.@@waelfaraj6705

Sounds Dutch because of the strong CHs + Norwegian, because of the word stress on the first syllable + a wee bit of Scots.
With some of the strong chs in there and the kinda throaty enunciations it really does have a gaelic sounding cadence to it at times

Yesss, I always thought there was something Scandinavian to it.
Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, are all Germanic tongues.

not true, northern german dialect is the closest dialect to standard german. but both northern and southern german are still pretty much the same language for the most part ofc as there are differences but its basically the same language with different pronunciations.
Maybe the spoken language is different than the official formal language ...
@@waelfaraj6705 in the north it's not different it's just spoken faster, in the south it's completely different pronunciation rules.

One still hears the difference between Swiss and German, even if she has an accent. Give her a break - as if Germans and Swiss could speak English w/o any accent 😂. Her German is excellent!

@@hristinadogramadzhieva123 In der Realität ist es egal welche Sprasche dass ich gemeint hab. Sprachen und Dialekte sind flüssig. Es gab eine Zeit wann Sächsisch “Hochdeutsch” war. Ich mach nur Spaß.

@waelfaraj6705 Yes, I confirm, I live in south Germany, especially in Baden-Württemberg Region near Bayern, in the area between the Black Forest and Bodesee lake , like between Freiburg city and Singen and Costance City . So near the Swiss Border, so it definitely helps. But i think Swiss can understand and speak with us Badeners or Schwabich , than we with Swiss. Although depends how much you Take effort and concentrate. So someone who hears or had contact with someone who Speak Hochdeutsch or Schweizerdeutsch (Schweizerdutsch in the swiss) a dialect like alemannisch or schwabisch a dialect of Baden-Württemberg, can somewhat understand because is similar especiallyif you live near the swiss border. I can understand because I was often in contact with my Cousins who lived in Swiss. So i learned a bit of Swiss German from them just some couple of words. So basic Swiss German I know which is a dialect. Although though the Years because of traveling , I go to Italy when have Vacation or holidays. So I kinda learned of my own. Same things on Germany with Colleges and people especially with elder people they kinda maintained the dialect. Depends also who you met, if you have luck could meet someone who speak German with German accent, although it's rare. They will speak to you in German with Swiss German accent . So to answer your question, yeah it can yeah. The difference is that Swiss is used in daily conservation and daily life although it's a dialect. They consider a language im order to distinguish themselves from German, anyways they use also German but in like they study to school Standard German, at Municipal, Letter, like Brief, post maybe and in some context of social life , like on the road sign at Bars, Cafe sign , city and so on it is used German. But mostly Daily life they use Swiss German. I hope it helps to answer your questions 😊
