I'm Swiss and I've never heard of only "zi". Most of the times you would also mumble the beginning, just very quickly so it get's more a "ezi". And what's more to say... in these days a lot of people also tend to use "Hallo" instead of "Grüezi". This isn't considered so informal anymore even among adults / older people. Actually even the "Hoi" and "Sali" are used less often than some years ago. They are often replaced by "Hallo" as well. With one exception: When adding the name, you'd rather use "Hoi" instead of "Hallo". So it's either "Hallo" only or "Hoi xy".

Very good question, Grace! "Hät gern" is subjunctiv II and that's why it's different (=I would like). But you are right "ich ha" would be the indicative present form.
When you say "ich ha gern es bier" it means that you like beer, or that you already have one because "ich ha" means "I have" and "Ich hät gern" means "I would like to have" :)
‘Adieu’, at least in France, has an air of finality about it. Like if you’re dying or you’re never going see someone again. I think there are better ways to say goodbye.

How offended would a random Swiss be if you simply spoke informally all the time? As an American the only time I'm spoken to formally is if I'm getting a traffic citation, or maybe the bank if I'm doing well.
It really depends on the person. But most people wouldn't be offended at all. Rather the opposite. I quite like it if people don't talk formally to me. It seems just nicer to me.
I ha de plausch diä vidéo zluege. Aber I dänk dass "uuf viderluege" isch viel meeh formal als "adieu". Und I persönlich ha en Dialekt wo ganz eigenartig isch : es gemisch vo bärndütsch, St-Gall erdütsch und inner oder Dialekt mit eme huch züridütsch. Und läbe tueni im waadtland....

Very good question, Grace! "Hät gern" is subjunctiv II and that's why it's different (=I would like). But you are right "ich ha" would be the indicative present form.
Es bier bitte
When you say "ich ha gern es bier" it means that you like beer, or that you already have one because "ich ha" means "I have" and "Ich hät gern" means "I would like to have" :)
But as one mentioned before, you could also just say "es bier bitte" which means "a/one beer please".
I like it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you 😃
‘Adieu’, at least in France, has an air of finality about it. Like if you’re dying or you’re never going see someone again. I think there are better ways to say goodbye.
mit " Wie " von wie gahts dir ? , betont man die " e ", man sagt also [ Vi - ye ] ?
Yes! Exactly! Wenn du aber schnell sprichst, kannst auch einfach "vi" sagen und das "e" weglassen.
Grüezi 🤲🏼💡🙏🏼
What is mean by Freut mi? That you say after saying your name
that means "my pleasure". Freut mich in German.

How do you say Switzerland in Swiss German?
Example: I come from Switzerland!
Ich chum us de "Schwiiz". You can hear it in my Quick Guide to Swiss German. Second sentence :)
❤❤
Isn't it pronounced "Griezi"? I learned it this way in Basel.
Yes, in Basel they pronounce it that way :)
*"Gott grüsse Sie" *"ich bi vierzgi"
Even grüezi is hard for me.
À Dieu is very like "never see you again" in french now. Never say that as good bye.
Au revoir is much better and used
Ohhh good to know!! Here it's very common and it doesn't mean the same.
