Hi! In which country do you wanna to see me ?
Good Canadian healthcare must be a joke. I’m Canadian and have been waiting to see a general surgeon for 5 years and also been waiting for spine surgery for 11 years. Canada’s healthcare is a torturous years long process towards certain death.
isn't death one of the few certainties we have in life? :-/ 🤔
Hello, I’m an Indian origin. Have been living in Canada for 6 years. I suffer with chronic pain in my spine for the last 4 years. The Canadian doctors misdiagnosed, saw there was a disc bulge and thought it was negligible. I came to India for treatment and the doctors here instantly found that it is a lumbar pars fracture that was being overlooked. In my humble opinion, I would suggest try healthcare in Asian countries. It is private, quicker and not as expensive as the US. There is a hospital under CMC (Christian Medical College) in a city called Vellore. The hospital is known for the wonders and attract medical tourism. You can try other countries in Asia as well. Highly recommended! Best of luck:)
you do that waiting in canada, we are sure the healthcare will be destroyed by the government. ASAP. We just need to reserve some operations at least 5-10 weeks in advance@@adityasarkar3185
Interesting that for y'all on the wrong Side of the Atlantic the health Care system seems to be the Main and Most important topic
@@TheInternetFan shut up dork
Nice video, but it doesn't discuss the recent cost of living crisis in Canada. I noticed several YT videos where people moan how expensive/almost unaffordable Canada has become and how the government is doing nothing against it. Obviously, prices have risen in Berlin as well, but perhaps it's even worse in Canada?
canadian here, this country is completely unlivable, there is zero prosperity here
it's just getting worse every day...
@@janclod3114It's way worse in Canada.
Great video, I am born and raised in Germany but I am living in Australia since a while I can say I miss Germany too. With the new changes in work immigration it will attract more and more skilled workers in the future. I totally share your opinion and I will move back to Europe next year too.
good australia stinks
Canadian whos moved to Switzerland. I totally agree with these points. Although, Coming from British Columbia the weather Isnt much of a problem. The work life balance in Europe is amazing.
Can uou take me there

How did you move to Switzerland without an EU passport?

You know what helps when you learn a language? Being exposed to it on a daily basis. If the canadian media would switch between french and english for their programs, more people would speak both languages more fluently.
as for Canadian weather yes it's cold in most of Canada but here in Vancouver. The weather here is very similar to nothern Germany. So if you want to live in Canada but hate snow and cold you have the option of British Columbia.
But British Columbia is very expensive.
@@arminwagner7031 it is yes
Edit Canada does not have free health care or free post secondary education.Canda is becoming more like the Us when it comes to although we always had crime .
From the Canadian perspective, the weather in Berlin may be not too bad, but from those who come from other countries, for instance southern Europe, it may still be cold in winter, and the lack of sunshine from a few months in a row may be felt as well.
after i moved from Berlin to Vanvouver I can say that the weather is pretty similar. Long wet and grey winters but it rarely gets below freezing.
I spent a semester in Berlin and I do love the weather there. Am I the only one? I mean bright and sunny days are overrated. Gloomy weather makes me feel cozy, good and productive. It also makes you appreciate summer days more. You can always fly to Mallorca or something if you're so desperate for sunshine lol

Why are we ignoring the massive gap in salaries? for my profession, I can get 60% more money for the same job in Canada while paying lower taxes! for me, it's a no-brainer. Am I missing something?!
what kind of job do u have?
@@evgeniy5282 software engineer
exactly, canadian jobs pay much more than germany, also taxes are so much lesser in Canada
Why do people not talk about this
@@divitkarekar5803 where have you seen jobs in Canada lol?
Great video.... unfortunatelly the political enviroment is changing in Berlin and in Germany a bit. On of the "right" political parties have reached now 35% and hate crime against foreigners is on the rise. Very sadly. It truly breaks my heart, because I love/d Berlin. So Berlin and Germany nowadays its not was it was 10-15 years ago..
Canada having free health is not fully true. Most is covered but Dental care and Optometry, Physio, Chiro Naturopathic are not covered, of course some employers provide benefits through your work which subsidizes most the non- publicly funded healthcare.
Great video. Do you think the high taxes in Germany is justified, considering the services people receive?
Yes it is. I don't particularly love living in Germany but I have to admit I'm happy to even pay more taxes
Currently I am living in Ottawa and this place is just saying a “OK hotel”. I am from colombia and back there we are not rich but we live a better life. I also have family in Germany and next year I’m going to study there otherwise in Canada would be impossible to pay that quantity
Great video but the title could be misleading for anyone making such decisions. For the most part, you described Berlin not Germany. The other parts of Germany are very different from Berlin and much more similar to the things you said about Canada.
Just putting this out here so no one gets misled.
Exactly, Berlin isn’t representative of Germany
Really interested in how you now feel about living in Germany? I’m guessing you still prefer it to the madness going on currently in Canada economically and esp politically. Yet the fact that the German economy has gone from being the strongest in Europe (by a big margin) and one of the strongest in the world to one of the weakest in Europe must a shock. One example just being the cost of heating one’s own home! Heard some truly shocking stories of how expensive it is now (yes maybe some are exaggerated but Im sure not all of the ones Ive heard.). Also the politics there. Like the country’s own pipeline gets blown up at sea, causing serious energy issues and the Govt does nothing about it!

I am a pharmacist and I worked in very big companies for 7 years. I had a very serious colon problem. It was at a stage that would have turned into cancer without intervention. As a refugee, even though I knew and wanted all the treatment procedures, no doctor would accept it. They were very confident that they could diagnose it just by checking it with ultrasound. I went to another country and had a 3-hour operation. They removed 16 cancerous lesions. If I had stayed here, maybe I would have died. Thank you Canada. Now the best doctors in the world are in Germany and I am talking about Turks.
Was it as a result of fecal impaction?
Re: German Healthcare, it's not a premium you're paying, that's the healthcare tax. I think it's nice that employers are required to subsidize that by paying half, so you don't have to pay the full 14%. That being said, it /is/ capped, so you don't necessarily pay a lot more when you make a lot more money. Also coverage for families is included (so spouses, children/dependents) without extra cost.
I came to Germany from the US so my experience with healthcare here has been VERY different, in a good way.
im here in canada and ive been waiting for surgery for more than two months, this country is a joke
It's not a healthcare tax, it's your employee part of the insurance, usually the half of the cost, other half will be paid by your employer.
Employers do not subsidize anything. In the end, you receive a lower salary because of the "subsidy" they have to pay.
german has very poor customer service and bureacracy is a hell
Interesting opinion. I currently live in Canada and basically, it's okay. Housing is too high, but compared to other countries like the UK, Germany, USA, AU, and Scandinavian countries, give or take, all countries have high prices even for rent in big cities. Huge inflation worldwide, so other countries will catch up sooner or later with similar problems.
Taxes in EU countries are extremely high. Very quick calc, if you have 80k EUR or 120k CAD, in Germany you would pay around ~40% of taxes, in Canada it's about ~30% (let's skip Quebec for now :D) (of course taxes very depend on family status and other things). But a 10% diff in taxes on annual income is huge. Good public transport has a price - taxes. It depends on personal preferences: personal car vs public transportation.
I'm interested in your opinion about Germany's future. I see that Germany is falling into an energy crisis, hard times for factories, and a car-building industry that might lead to huge economic problems in the coming years. In Canada, if the government fixes the discount rate and the businesses receive cheaper money I trust the situation with jobs might become better as well as housing affordability.
I am also living in Berlin from last 4 year maybe we should catch up and hangout sometime
no sorry
interesting thanks
I have worked in downtown Toronto for decades. My commute is half an hour by subway as we live in Bloor west within walking distance of the subway. My grown sons do not live at home but they do not live deep in suburbia either. Therefore I think that your portrayal of living in cities like Toronto is not at all representative of how many people live but a product of your limited experience.
typical torontonian response. your city is crap btw.
just like living in Berlin is not representative of living in Germany.
most people dont live in downtown toronto. so by definition what u describe is actuallly the limited experience
@GreggHarris-gm7ef Most people live in Toronto though, so it's not a limited experience. Since what.. 1/4 of the population of Canada lives in the Toronto metro area
The OP did not live in Toronto. They lived in a distant suburb way outside of Toronto. I don’t live in downtown Toronto but in a residential area that is not deep in suburbia.
I first moved to Berlin 5 years ago and then moved to Vancouver 1.5 years ago. Overall i'd say Germany is a better country to live in.
The biggest problems I had in Germany and why I left are the language and the long immigration process. But now with the new immigration laws Germany is basically on par with Canada in terms of getting permanent residence and citizenship pretty quickly. I regret leaving Germany but it's a bit late now.
Thanks for sharing ☺️ wishing you all the best of luck in Canada, it really is a great country as well
@@DianaVerry thanks. I’ve been watching your channel for many years even before I moved to Berlin. I think right before I made the move. I’m thinking of going back as soon as I get my Canadian citizenship. Have to learn German first though because it will be so much easier to settle in Berlin. I miss Berlin a lot. There is nothing like it in Canada.

Hej I am from western Québec and I live in Danmark for more than 30 years., many things you say are similar to what we find in Danmark..You made many fine comments but ,Toronto is not "Canada " you cannot from your life in Toronto to "generalize ",.You can go just about anywhere in Canada and your pendling time would be reduce by much . If you are in a small or medium sized town ,you can enjoy a vast spectrum of outdoors activity year long near you ,and .remember the 4-5 sommer months we have are nice and warm ( warmer than Grermany )..
In general people find that it is easyer to meet people and make friends in Canada than in northern Europe..

A country, any country being better or worse is all about perspectives. Some countries will work for you, some won't. Just move to a country that resonates with you, there is no need to disparage the country you left. It shows low class and you are making the people still living in the country you left feel bad. Don't be that kind of person.
Interesting - for me I would consider the weather from December to April in Germany as well ugly wet, dark & cold. Is it different to Canada ?
Yes, it’s still not the best but compared to Canada the weather is Germany is much milder. Canadian winters are just extremely brutal in terms of temperature
It's pretty much the same in Vancouver. Wet, grey and cold-ish. But the rest of Canada is much colder. It's not really wet in winter because everything is flozen and it's actually sunny. most of the time. So you get something like -25C and it's sunny and bright because of the snow.
