I’m just not really sure what can be done to excite folks. The game just doesn’t seem that interesting. Its only draw was that a streamer was the face behind it (and even that was a bit divisive since disrespect was controversial, even before the last week) The game itself seems dull. Weapon sandbox design seems generic and uninspired, movement looks boilerplate and unoriginal, the NFTs are an instant-NO and the Snapchat idea robbed the game of any momentum it had. It just seems boring as a game. What it offers can be found in games already out.

Wouldn't be surprised if midnight society pivots and reworks deadrop into a different game with a new name. The vertical extraction shooter idea was doc's and I could see them trying to distance themselves from him as much as possible.
You release it a year or two from now when its long forgotten. On Steam. For $4.99. You try to use social media and Reddit to promote for cheap. Doesn't work. You them start bringing up Doc for no real reason aside from attention. Doesn't work. Game dies.

I always felt people just bought in to this to get a closer chance of playing with the Doc. If the game ends up mediocre, people will say, oh well that's because you didn't have Doc telling you what to do to make the perfect game. It's probably the only win for Doc in all this

The whole point of early access is to raise funds to further develop the game and receive community feedback on how to improve existing features. Look at Star Citizen, the game has raised a ton of money and has a loyal community who want to see the game succeed for obvious reasons. Even if it is a frustratingly buggy mess. The game is not even in Early Access yet. It's actively in development. You shouldn't just a game by WIP test builds.
