Welcome to the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training at the Marine Recruit Depot, San Diego. MCRD San Diego's main mission is the initial training of enlisted male recruits living west of the Mississippi River. Over 21,000 recruits are trained each year. The Depot also is the home to the Marine Corps' Recruiter School and Western Recruiting Region's Drill Instructors School.

Thats the one thing that must suck for DI's is loosing their voices
No feelings were hurt in this video
ProudViper cheetah sike
I know for a fact that's not true
Great advices: 1.) avoid creating unwanted attention. 2.) observe everything around. 3.) be a team player. 4.) Don't quit / Never give up.
What about them killing innocent children and civilians and soldiers for just defending their own country from invadors/terrorist(us army)
Your number 1 is very important. I managed to get to nearly the end of 2nd phase without getting any individual attention from my DIs, but once I did, because of one tiny mistake, I became very intimately familiar with the Quarterdeck lol.
@@cyborgoftheyearboutta rip 0300 brother I’m tired of civilian life. I’m 24 what’s your genuine advice. I dropped of college and have been working bum jobs since 2021

@@cyborgoftheyearsame, but instead I got messed up after we had already became marines post crucible😂
Enormous respect to any one who signs up first this. It cannot be easy to have a DI in your face like that
It’s all to prepare you to function under stress. Take nothing from them personally. Learn from what they are telling you, adjust and move on. I went through this in July of 2001 and while it was stressful, it was not terrible. I would not want to do it again now being 41 years old, but 18 year old me did just fine and went on to be a mortar man (infantry, 0341) in 2nd Battalion 5th Marines.

this is one of the most courageous shit you could do as a human being. voluntarily going through a training like this while knowing one day they could/will go to war and face death takes some serious balls. mad respect!!!
Every Marine vividly remembers boot camp, their drill instructors, and the others that were in your platoon.
My best memory was when a platoon one week ahead of us in the cycle tried to march through our formation as we were forming up outside the chow hall up north. Our drill instructor was still inside.
As they tried to come through our ranks, one of our squad leaders threw a punch, and both platoons broke ranks and started throwing down. There was a huge ass dust cloud. Our guide grabbed their guidon from their guide, broke it over his knee, and shoved it in their guide’s face, likely breaking his nose.
The DI from the other platoon thought it would be funny to step up and challenge us. But he didn’t expect his platoon to get their asses kicked.
Our DI came out and yelled at us that Marines are not gang members and that it was a disgrace, etc. But when we got back to the squad bay, he said “Ears. That was fucking badass, good to go?”
It was one of the rare times we got approval from our DIs in boot camp.
I told this story when I was on leave back home after graduation to another guy that was working with me in the recruiter’s office for recruiter’s assistance. He was a week ahead of me. He was in the other platoon lol.
So we went to the other side of the country one week apart, were part of a platoon-vs. platoon fight involving a couple hundred recruits, and then laughed about it back home.
By the way. F*** you, Alpha Company. Golf Company owns you. 😂
2005
Semper Fi. I was also Golf company, went to bootcamp back in 2017. I remember during the SDI inspection the recruit next to me couldn't remember his first general order to save his life😂😂. Dude rattled off like 4 other ones all out of order and eventually the drill instructor just moved on. Fkn hilarious
YOUR ONE UNDERSTAND COMPETIVENESS THERE YOUR BROTHERS.. ...
I’m extremely proud of our military today. Our people in uniform step forward and swear an oath to take a bullet for the folks back home, if need be, giving all they have within, for years, guarding the nation often in places far from home, lonely, and dangerous places.
All who serve or served are this nation’s greatest assets. I’m grateful to each and everyone one of you who took the oath to defend us and put everything you are and will be to defend us.
You bring honor to our nation.
I hope that what I say reaches you. You must be as sick as I for the way you’ve been criticized by a draft dodger who respects nothing and no one. Do not trouble yourselves with that. They are spoken by some who do not honor their oaths, who hide from the danger, or slither away from the duties you assumed willingly.
I wish for you, the best that life can offer. And my deepest gratitude.
Yeah things that never happened for $1000. Broke the guidon?! 🙄

Respect to the camera crew. That squad bay was chaotic enough as a recruit. I can hardly imaging managing an expensive piece of camera equipment through all of that.

37:26 this man right here will be burned into my memory forever. He was the J Hat in my platoon, in fact this section is my company so I'm in there somewhere. But the pointing was emblematic of him specifically. During IT he often wouldn't say anything, just pointing up and down to indicate the direction in which to slay ourselves. Dude was as loud as any other drill instructor, but he knew he could command presence with silence. Sergeant Neitzschman was fucking monster, even got a Navy Com in the middle of my cycle for saving a kid who's fucked up dad nearly threw off a bridge. I respect and remember all 3 of my DIs but I regard this man as THE drill instructor that's stuck with me.

I went through bootcamp at Marine Recruit Depot San Diego (same place as in the video) in July of 2001 to October 2001, platoon 1093, Delta. This video gave me serious flashbacks and the chills. I love it!
My kid attender Naval Training Center Great Lakes. Once graduated He
attended field medical school @ Camp Pendleton. When he graduated
FMS he chose to serve w USMC. So, he then had to go thru USMC
bootcamp. After he was discharged he signed on w Sheriffs dept &
attended their training academy. The kid completed more bootcamps
than any mortal man should ever have to.
!
The beginning of the bus ride was so peaceful
That is the point, straight from peace to the hell-fire of battle. Straight psychological conditioning from the start.
Bus ride? Hell they picked me up in a cattle transport truck at the airport there was 45 of us we had to moo all the way back to MCRD and when we got back we unloaded on yellow foot prints and stood on them for 36 hours with a 2 minute water break every 4 hours and back on the yellow prints on day 2 we got hair cut and chow hall grunting like pigs and back on the yellow prints They wanted to see how many would drop out I think we had about 15 pass out and fall. It is funny to think back on it damn 50 years ago.
