Awesome! I just discovered Donald Miller and his focus on story branding. I just started a new business and it’s really going to help me focus my business to make it easy for customers to buy my product. you defined his program seven step framework very clearly. I will go out and buy the book. I’m on a mission. Thanks.❤
Man! This video is super valuable to me, I'm glad that I found your UA-cam channel. I don't understand why this video only has 2.6k views. You deserve so much more brother✨ Keep sharing
This is awesome and clear, especially for online educators... I'd love to hear how this approach translates to artists selling/marketing their music, painting, short film, poetry book, etc... How do artists use this approach?
@@arnaudcz thanks so much for sharing that. That article tends to talk far more about the creative process. Most professional creatives already have their own creative process nailed, but they don’t necessarily know how to market their creative works that fall in line with the notion of ‘story brand.’ (aside from which, in this article they repeatedly speak about making things in a song simple so it relates, but I can cite many successful artists that deliberately use complexity to appeal to the intelligence of their specific market/audience - Radiohead, The Beatles, Tool, Leonard Cohen, etc - if these bands/artists resorted to simplicity they’d have lost the edge that make them special to their niche. Simplicity is not the answer to success, at least it for everybody).
Just came across your content, very genuine and authentic. I am saving to be able to participate in the workshops you have available. Until then I am very grateful for your content and being able to feel like I have clarity walking into a new season of starting an online business.
You did a great job summarizing the book! You made it simple to understand. I thought the book was fabulous but it was overwhelming to me since I don't have a marketing mind.
hi Juiette, I know its a year later, but I thought I would share anyway. The person (customer) has the problem of not finding enough music they can relate to, or that resonates with them, or lifts their soul etc . (what will help you with this part is really getting who your customer is, who wants and would buy your music, what kind of person, what question is your music the answer to.) Then you say, as the guide, ""I have a solution, I make music that is specifically made to lift people's spirits (or whatever it is) Download this free song and begin to experience the uplift that the music provides"". I am not an expert at this by any means but I thought I would jump in and attempt to shed some light on how you could begin to see it through the lens that is suggested by Story brand. Hope its ok with you Graham for me to jump in.
@@Sophia-hx2bo (this is Juiette replying under my channel brand) Thank you so much for this reply! This totally helps and I'm going to apply this in future content releases. God bless you!
Excellent video Graham. Thank you. I'm in the middle of reading "Building a Story Brand" right now and needed a little clarity on the, "has a problem" principal. This certainly helped. I'm curious, did you see a difference in your businesses after you StoryBranded them?
This was amazing! Thank you so much, I will use these tips to create better marketing videos for my clients and the company I work for in the corporate world!
Hey Graham. Thank you so much for creating this video. It's super helpful and much appreciated. I've been getting more into marketing and I was told to look up donald miller and I came across your video. I'm starting my own graphic design company and I'm having trouble defining my ideal client hence defining their problem. Any advice you can give on defining my audience. Hearing you talk about a service based business like wedding photography resonated with me.
I am obi-Wan Kenobi! Thank you Graham for putting it into perspective that I am the guide to my audience! I will use this principle as I make my information about sex trafficking awareness. thank you so much for all of your knowledge and advice. I have been binge watching your videos for weeks! I can’t wait to start my journey with my online courses, consulting, and blog. Looking forward to you possibly looking at it!
Shout out to my guy Jimmy Trent for sending me this vid. I'm definitely guilty of putting myself as the hero but I am looking forward to making the changes! Thanks for the breakdown!

I enjoyed this video, great content! I'd love to see more websites where you do an analysis of the use of story. The examples were the most helpful.
I so fan of you, so I just discover the new episode before goes publish. Sorry, I couldn't wait!!!

How would I execute this as a musician/recording artist/worship leader? Making them the hero for my albums that I produce? Trying to figure that out
