Graham, I first "found" you about 10 years ago and you were "giving away" you best stuff even back then! Because your content was so very good and you were consistently giving away "tips and tricks" it made me hunger for even more ... and I wondered "if this is his free stuff, how much better is his paid stuff?" And I purchased a number of your Recording Revolution products and they made all the difference in the world to me! GBY!
@@GrahamCochrane I coach college basketball. I've spent 3 months building a following by providing free content of basketball breakdowns and plays on Twitter. I post on avg once per day. my following went from 300 to 6,000. So during the time of giving free content I built an email list, then launched a course for $67. It sold so well and I had ppl ask to be affiliates and was able to sale more of my course + add bigger email list... This is ALL from your videos. Before coming across your stuff I had no clue this could be done. Its now time to scale!... I can't thank you enough.
I think this mindset is a game changer. They are paying for access and to go deeper. Love your content. Also love that you do these all in 1 take it seems like with no editing, and with no ads, and it’s your best info. Thanks man.
THISSSS! I just found your content when I was looking for a platform to host my courses on. I've been giving service dog training and general dog training how-to videos away for a few years now so that people who couldn't afford to work with me in person, or weren't located near me could still have quality education. Now I'm ready to build courses and I have built up enough of an audience that I know those courses will have a market, as I've already build up a really solid Patreon following from people who are supporting my work. I run into so many people that think the pie is finite and don't want to give info away for free. I don't understand that mindset at all. When I first started dog training I was so grateful to those people that helped educate me for free when I had no money to pay them. They made me lifelong fans and once I had more disposable income, I was able to buy their products or financially support their creations. It's a long-game. I really appreciated this podcast! Thanks for putting it out! I'll be using your offer code for Kajabi in the next few months.
Dude what you said about worldview is so important to me. I think you are the only entrepreneur I have heard in this area talk about Christian philosophy and I hear it and I am so grateful❤️if course your content is great but knowing your foundation makes it even better.
This podcast is a gold mine. Ending the episode with the biblical principles is a home-run for me. Being financially successful AND selfless AND generous...Graham is truly unique.
Great podcast episode Graham! I 100% believe in this philosophy. I’ve been giving my content away for free for years and I’m now (finally) working on my first real DJ course. My strategy to promote it once it’s done: putting out even more of my best stuff for free! I love the information vs transformation part. That is a great way to explain it 👍🏽👍🏽
Graham- This is so great. I’ve done this in brick and mortar for years! Now I’m ready to take it online. Thank you. “Give and it will be given unto you.” ❤️
The most beautiful thing in the world is purity of heart. Could experience that in every bit of this video. I am a Hindu by birth... but Spiritual by choice . Every religion teaches us these values of care and share . I wish we all live by these values to make this place better to live. So proud of you Graham .. you are truly an inspiration. On a lighter note.. I saw so many of your videos... this is the first video I have seen of you... without you mentioning anything about Kajabi. 😂 After seeing your videos I have sighed up for Kajabi.
True, it's smart to give free content. It builds trust and love better than ads. I want to be a movie director but there's a sea of competition. Everyone's selling their movies. No one's gonna buy from a brand new director. They have to know they're getting their money's worth.
In the last 20 years marketing has been totally flipped on its head. Look at enterprise software, for example. In 2001 you made a multi-million dollar sale that had to be installed in a client's site and the effort was so huge, happy or not, the client was stuck with it for the next 30 years. In 2021, in the SaaS world, a prospect will do a small trial of your software. If they like it, they will maybe ramp up and try it in a district. If that works, they expand to a region and maybe try your upgraded offer. If they don't like you, they move on to try something else. Today, you don't win the big sale up front. Now sales are made over time and built on trust and results. You must re-win your customers again and again and again. Graham, your approach and philosophy are perfect for the 2021 marketplace. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Graham for this perspective. I first found you through an interview with Joe Gilder, then I always thought it was cool how you were telling people to learn to use what they already had. Then, the EPIC episode of Pensado's place, where you were humble in the face of pure jealousy. Loving these videos.
Hi Graham. I was honestly wondering very hard about this next step of mine, which is to create a free guide. You answered the questions I wanted answers for. It's not only your free stuff that is a gift... YOU are a gift to us, Graham. THANK YOU!!
Graham, I was literally gonna ask you this question on the next video you posted; lo and behold, this whole episode is an answer to that question! Thank you so much for this valuable content; I will try my best to follow your example!
Hey Graham. You should add this video to your Automatic Income Academy. This video is the link and answer to questions around the correlation between courses and content marketing. I've worked through the academy and I think this is a subject that you should include into it. The correlation between free and paid stuff. As always, Thanks for the video. I listened to it while I make some items for my business and got great ideas once again.
Graham, just for the purpose of balance I would argue that for some, the old adage “everything that is free has no value” is true. I believe that your main selling point is your charisma and sparkling personality. Because of that, giving your audio tips away for free has no down side as it helps build the Graham Cochrane brand. As a UA-cam influencer you can move on to tackle new subjects and open new markets and go with the money. Now for someone who’s focus is very narrow and who knows a lot within a very narrow market ( eg audio engineers and technical experts without online charisma) giving their stuff away is simply removing an opportunity of a sale. Indeed it is devaluing the brand. So I would argue that you are right for many, but for others it could have a very negative effect. If only business wasn’t so complicated. Anyway, you are inspirational so Thankyou and carry on with your awesome FREE content.
Oh my God.. I wanted God to help with the free stuff I was giving away.. I did not if I was doing the right thing. I searched UA-cam. God showed you. Thank you so much for your amazing content. Am only half way through. Am already crying knowing that what I felt was right. Thank you so much. You changed my life within half hour. May be someday I ll get to meet you and thank you💗 #manifesting
It took you 7 minutes to get to the point. Next time would it be possible for you to display a time mark where you start talking about what is in the title? Thanks much, awesome stuff!:) Really amazing podcast:)
I watched this yesterday. I am a Believer and I feel God has been telling me to give my “knowledge away” rather than try to make money from it and understand that the money IS coming so stop holding back. I still feel scared but I’m listening again to ensure I don’t backtrack on this decision.
I love your outlook and principles! 👏 I have always given my knowledge away for free, to help people. Now I'm getting started on creating content to put online because I realize that the need is much greater at the moment, than what I can do in just talking to one person at a time and I want to help as many people as I can. 🙏
Great video Graham and thanks. As I'm very new to the course creation world your content was exactly what I needed to hear as it touched with my own core beliefs, but it also reminded me of something that happened to me. I was having a coffee and cake at my favourite cafe, it was a nice sunny day, so I was sitting outside. Anyway along comes a man of the street, greets me, chats for two minutes and as I do when I see him which is at least once a week hand him over two euros. Anyway the owner of the cafe comes out and say's "Did you just give that tramp some money, you know he'll be back for more?" My reply was this, I said I'm a great believer in karma, what you give out you get back a 1000-fold, I said that poor man of the street was worth 2000 euros to me and I said all this with a big smile on my face. The owner replied, " Mark only you could think like that!" So Graham, as you can guess I'm very sure that what you do, comes back to you a 1000-fold too...Mark

If they don’t feel that way, maybe your content isn’t that good." You want to put out content where people say “I can’t believe she shared this for free?” Okay, back to impacting the world through my service dog education business

However I am launching my channel/web series in a month and I can only upload once a fortnight atm (that’s all I can manage time wise atm). It's POSSIBLE to do every two weeks but only if the content is amazing. Would really love to see you do SOMETHING each week. Even if that means go live every other week.
People don't pay for music anymore, why should anyone pay for music today?! It's all free on UA-cam. There are even people who do not pay for music on principle. Many think the content should be for free. When Beethoven wrote music, he didn't say I have to create more content. Only the capitalist moloch created the word 'content'. HBO has the best writers, even Scorsese for tv episodes, mega actors. Is HBO free? NBA has the best basketball players, UFC the best martial artists. Is the UFC fight pass for free? You get some of it on UA-cam as a sneak. But the good stuff and live events are not free. Some TV is free, but that's why they only make junk reality tv. the music industry targets 14 year olds, and they have no money. “Look have 5 thousand views”, but that's super sad, because someone who sits in front of the PC is not the one who would buy your album or goes out to concerts. It's like a store bragging about their shoplifting. Look how many have listened and stolen my work for free. But music is in the cheap business dumbing down for 14 year olds, and they are wondering that they make no money. Of course, this cheap stuff has to be for free. For something good you have to spend money. When I watch HBO or Formula 1 TV , I am sure that the best drivers in the world are there. When you turn on the radio today, do you have the same feeling? Absolutely not. Mega good products are selling and everyone accepts that they are expensive. especially the music industry is broken. don't sell yourself on Spotify for 0.03 cents. stay in one city, earn fans, play again, earn fans, move to a better venue in the same city, and do it again. And again. working their way up by claiming what they deserved: Fans. build real fans, give them something on patreon, and they're willing to pay for it.
I listened to this episode at the time it came out, and have come back round to it again I’m in a high ticket coaching program I’ve just been advised “tell them what to do but not how to do”.. but God has been challenging me recently to: Luke 6:38 says “Don’t hold back-give freely, and you’ll have plenty poured back into your lap-a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, brimming over. You’ll receive in the same measure you give.” God has been challenging me personally on this very recently, considering they could get it from Google for FREE, from a business perspective, what’s the benefit of not showing them both? Was my question, I’ll not put the response , but watching the SHARING has confirmed what God has already said

It's POSSIBLE to do every two weeks but only if the content is amazing. Would really love to see you do SOMETHING each week. Even if that means go live every other week.
Life changed sir

The More You Give Away, The More You Attract - I'm on it.
I listened to this episode at the time it came out, and have come back round to it again
I’m in a high ticket coaching program I’ve just been advised “tell them what to do but not how to do”.. but God has been challenging me recently to:
Luke 6:38 says “Don’t hold back-give freely, and you’ll have plenty poured back into your lap-a good measure, pressed down, shaken together, brimming over. You’ll receive in the same measure you give.”
God has been challenging me personally on this very recently, considering they could get it from Google for FREE, from a business perspective, what’s the benefit of not showing them both? Was my question, I’ll not put the response , but watching the SHARING has confirmed what God has already said
