Will post some more story stuff later~ Some info in the description and comment as promised :D Companion: U4 Start: 0:00 Arx Start/Obtained (he has quest but will follow you right at the get go): 4:00 U4 Continue To Power Plant: 10:00 U4 Unlock Weapons: 12:55 Items: Small Elex Potion: 5:40 (same location as Arx, go to 4:00 for map view) - you can craft these potions btw Ring Of Hardiness: 7:55 Location of Radock, off bridge from Domed City (7:20 to see from domed city) Ring Of Vigor: 13:55 Above U3 (starting area, use jetpack) 1. Start U4 Quest 2. Unlock nearby teleporter (from goliet or small camp to marked point) 3. travel up the highway to Arx 4. Talk to Arx 5. Go to The Domed City, unlock teleporters 6. Continue along the road (East) to the large dish antena thing 7. Get some free exp, or skip it but remember he's there 8. Unlock teleporter at the station you were heading towards (in 6) 9. Head across to the gas station from the dish 10. Follow U4's quest tracker (yellow/gold color) 11. Talk to U4, get next piece in quest 12. Decide how you want to get it, if stealth dismiss Arx (keeping them in melee range imo is the easiest, do not pull out weapon so you can control your character easier) 13. Head to small camp and then from there go back to starting area, get weapons from U3 for U4 14. Profit. . . :P U4 finds you natural elex occasionally (will just give it to you), no personality preference (play how you want), is always ranged, ranged damage can CC and bleed enemies (electric DoT), and actually has a decent humor / sense of observation (will note good views, mention nearby loot, too strong monsters, etc). Arx is very strong, and sometimes you want your companion to be able to do melee combat (which he has both), he also has a strong personality and so you can make him not like you by siding with clerics and not being a tough guy. Elex potion here gives you 2 stat points Ring of Hardiness gives +10 stam and +10 hp Ring of Vigor gives +10 hp
Crony U4 is the best companion if you are making a non combat Personality build with the Group ability. His only weapon are guns that have energy enchantments and with damage over time. This means that he does not need to switch weapons and is always at a safe range distance making melee enemies take damage even before they get close enough to whack U4, making them take D.O.T and possibly die before even getting close to you and U4. Group ability also greatly improves his damage and defensive capabilities. It is also easy to make him a true friend by simply getting all his repairs and once he is a true friend he will periodically give you natural elex which is so usefull for making elex drinks. Perfect for a non combat build once you have the Chemistry as you can just make Elex Drinks to get a lot of eXP. I can vouch for this play style .You can either go Berserker with spirit wolf or Cleric with Psi-Projection. I would recommend the Berserker route as this would give a summoner/taskmaster vibe. I have done it and deeply enjoyed and finished the game with it. Don't underestimate this tiny drone. Sorry for the long post, I just really love this game and I can't wait for Elex 2 coming this year.
There's a third way you can get the item for Crony 4. I found out about it because I forgot to send Arx to the Small Camp so he was with me all the time. The first many times I got one-shot or killed otherwise very quickly. One time I managed to get into the water, but the Albs never stopped being in aggro mode because Arx was there fighting them. I wouldn't have made it anyway because I had so little health left all they needed was to look at me and I'd have been dead (you can't drink health potions while in water). Here's how I eventually did it: Keep Arx with you, go around through the terrain to the entrance instead of through the passage where the Alb soldiers are stationed. When you run in through the entrance to the fort the two guards at the entrance will attack Arx, not you - at least not if you keep your weapon sheathed - and you can run straight up and take the item lying beside the "over-Alb" who's standing there. He too will attack Arx and ignore you. Run back out and Arx will follow soon enough (he always does if you don't stay around and fight when mobs attack him and you). I’m late to this party but I loved this video. Not least of all because I learned that I am already capable of crossing a bridge in expert fashion.
