25 minutes in, we went from Luxury-Class living with brandys and spas with a waterfall and being naked in the future, to talking about shooting at bad guys in the cargo bay next to the main engineering space and diagnosing lanes of fire and decent cover O_o this be the best home tour of my life
Out of all the things I can do right now, I'm watching a guy reviewing a virtual ship in a video game that I didn't even own, about a luxury ship that, even if I own the game, I probably can't afford buying... And I'm both amused and impressed and attracted by both the ship and the video. I think you just introduced Star Citizen for a kid who's usually into FPS games. Nice job man.
just you know: star citizen is considered as a fps game. Of course only a part of it is actual shooting other guys with your pistol but everything is a fps. Also a simulator. Also a racing game. Also a space ship fighting game. Also a plane fighting game. Also a delivery game.... I think you understood my point
Not too hard too play around with the 890 Jump. It was available for free rental during the free fly event that just ended (and should be in future events) and it's the ship of the month for SC subscribers. Some subscribers are unlocking them at the ports so anyone can jump in them and play around. Morphologis doesn't own one either, because if he did it would have came with a snub in the hangar bay (which he could have reviewed as well). With free fly events, sub benefits and rentals, SC isn't super restrictive.
LOL This is me as well... All of a sudden I'm interested in playing Star Citizen - after avoiding it all this time. A real-world architect reviewing a virtual starship in a video game... WOW. It's clear that I have far too much time on my hands! On a serious note though... it's becoming pretty clear that RSI is doing a great job of indirectly influencing digital modelers to become even more attentive to form, function and real-world design considerations for their 3d models. For example, check out the commentary beginning at 17:21. You could almost see a future time where real-world architects / designers are hired by developers like RSI to assist in the actual design of various 3d models like this. Blows my mind...
bruh this game has way more detail than i imagined, i totally understand why its taking so long to be developed. I've never seen this much detail put into a game ever tbh
I just wish they'd focus on core game content so it's not stuck in alpha, its so annoying how they try to get people to buy the expensive game pack with special ships when the game is very playable but very unfinished.
@@cameronwilsonfan Nahh this is not true. They are focusing on the core. But ship designers cant work on those core systems. So why not let them make more shop you know.
@@kaonashivibes That's like comparing an apple to an orange tree. You're saying a single ship in a game about space travel and adventures is less detailed than a whole game made by a AAA company. Through the little footage I've seen of star cit I'd have to say that it has more thought and details than what Rockstar did.
@@cameronwilsonfan game is not playable, the server optimization is so bad I get 30 fps at the most if I'm lucky, usually it's 15-20. I have a pretty beefy rig and no game I've played has ran this crappy on it.
I'm an architect myself, this ship really tickles my brain. It's refreshing to see game designers actually "design" the spaces. Also, this ship looks like when Zaha Hadid become an interplanetary corporation and decide to make orbital class ship. Anyway, this is a great video!
@@PaulPeavyhouse True, but why would you do that? The spa is meant to have half nekkid people in it. So why would you waste resources installing dynamic frosting, when it would be more sensible to just install regular frosted glass?
LOL my Avenger Titan is probably only the size of the base of the landing gear. Upgrading to a 325A soon, which IMO, the Origin 300 series are the nicest designed Origin ships. The 890 is indeed a mega-yacht but the 300s take all that into such a small space.
@@krozareq Yeah, one of my ships is a 325A. They apparently completely redesigned the interior for it recently, because now it has a permanent bed, kitchen sink and some kind of champagne dispenser in the back, haha. I like it though for just flying around, but my Aurora LN is a far superior fighter, at least out of the box. Looks like shit compared to the 325A though.
All the while he's talking about how beautiful the ship is, I'm over here imagining how insanely fun it would be to board this thing with your pirate squad and wreak havoc.

in real life yachts have way more features. Like a casino, swimming pools, fitness rooms, diving equipement, and everything you can want, even garage for cars. This yach is not a yacht, it look like one, but lack too much features.
As impressed as I am with this ship's design, I'm similarly impressed with the expertise displayed while reviewing it. I'm no architect, not by a long stretch, but the critique was so well explained that following it was effortless, and explaining something that well really shows a masterful understanding of the material.
Im torn, I know CIG should be focusing on software updates and polishing the game before they keep working on these minute details, but damn these ships are some of the best designed in all of sci-fi and I love it so much
@@drewmortensondesigning ships is also a pretty unique skill set. The 890 alone likely took years to go from concept to designing the interior layouts to modeling and texturing.
That's what I'm saying! I can normally never watch a full 10 minute video on UA-cam, but I watched this one all the way through without any thoughts of leaving.
Imagine real VR (like in Ready Player One, where your whole consciousness is inside the virtual world) being a thing and you're there with ur friends, talking to each other and having a great time. I can't wait for this technology one day become reality.
Nah ready player one was a little trash cuz you have to move your body in real world as well (with wires holding you and all). The full dive nervergear from sword art online was very realistic , will likely be the first commercial stuff that will come out.
There is a good reason you are one of the largest Star Citizen channels and you reinforce the high quality standards with each new video. Thanks for the hard work!
What would go a long way to making this the superyacht of the star citizen world would be to have 3 or 4 different liveries and designs that could be specced when purchasing, so that they're not all identical. Superyachts today are not bought fresh off the assembly line...they are built to order and exceedingly custom. That level of bespoke may not be feasible for a game such as star citizen, however at this calibre of luxury and expense it would be absurd for every single 890 to be identical. Even better, make a few tiers of designs, progressively more opulent and exponentially more expensive to spec, so that seeing an 890 may be a semi regular occurrence but seeing the the 890 Empire Edition entirely finished in luxury wood paneling, gilding, marble and diamond chandeliers is next to impossible.
they can do it with the 300 series, and i would love to have the same kind of choice for my Jump. But not only different colours but as you said complete liverys. i mean i already spend 1000 bucks on it what is 10 bucks more for a livery then
They do something similar with the RSI Constellation there are normal models and then a high end one, considering the price of the ship having a few options seems reasonable
I think what is most amazing about this game is that halfway through these reviews i forget that he is inside a ship. they just look so fantastic that they feel like concept art for real 7-star hotels
I know right! I'm so tempted to get one as soon as possible. But my sensible side tells me to wait and let my Orion mining ship get one for me later on in game.
I love the ship, but I'm wondering who would actually use them. Isn't this the type of thing you get for exclusivity but rarely ever touch it unless you're showing off for some friends?
So I'm going to try out the premiere feature on youtube so I can watch this with you guys when it goes live. It's a pretty big video, so it's going to take a really long time to upload, process, and get to 4k. See you guys then!
Your 600i review was my gateway into all your other Star Citizen videos. I've shared them with friends, and one of them decided he wanted a 600i afterward. That is until the 890j was released. Looking forward to the new review!
Oh man, so looking forward to this, today! I kinda like having this premiere function so I can see when it is coming. Funny how the latest patch fixed the LOD issues and some other visual updates. Dunno if your footage was before that patch though, but hopefully the changes don't affect your analysis any
This was the video that actually got me into Star Citizen. A year and a half later, I finally own one of these beautiful behemoths. Thank you, Morphologis. It's been a thrilling ride so far. Hope to see you in the 'verse sometime!
How were you able to make the 33 million to buy it ? I’ve been waiting to get this game for awhile but want to figure out how to get me one of the 890 jumps
@@dovahkiin777s I did a combination of quantanium mining and high-rep bounty missions. Events with large credit payouts like Xenothreat helped get me there as well. Fantastic video. This is the single best Star Citizen video I've ever seen. The attention to detail; showcasing the spaces from different angles; and portraying the use cases of guest vs crew; all made for a wonderful viewing experience. I watched the official Star Citizen video on the 890j first, and then a couple of videos from other channels (ie mostly speculation and quick footage). Yours is in a league all its own, sir. I also enjoyed how your personality came through in a few moments, like when you made Star Trek references. Thank you for making content that is both informative and elegant. Well done!
I usually add little sharpening to bring up edges and detail of everything, my sony 4k has the default at 50%, i arise it up to like about 60-65 for most of these 4K scenery or gaming videos
As a yachtie. (yacht crew member) I appreciate the design of this ship. Of coarse we don't know how it would work practically. But it's very thaught out. The one thing I can cratique of this yacht is some kind of outside viewing platform for guests to use when they are inside a safe atmosphere. An area in the bow that would allow guests access would be nice as well as crew access to the exterior for maintanace and cleaning.
Don't know if this has been mentioned, but there's a mission on Microtech where you have to clear out an 890 Jump from pirates. It pays well and it allows a player to explore the super yacht while capping the pirates. Best part of all, every time you log in and out (or crash :/), it's repeatable. Pro tip: whenever fighting these Pirate NPCs, use their own guns against them.
Cooking is done using the multitool. Similar mechanic to mining: keep the beam within bounds or you burn/undercook the food. Still not sure about the way the chicken violently detonates into perfect portions that you have to pick up off the floor when it's cooked though...
@@harbl99 no need for that. it will likely be a micromanagement game a bunch of timers running at the same time and you have to sort them out in the right order and add all the right ingredients at the right time, or desaster will happen. just like in a real kitchen. keep that fresh in mind for every possible dish, and your star chef career on a 890 is set.
I worked in a restaurant, and: That is too far to go from the kitchen to the restaurant area. You need a food elevator. Also, you don't want to go through the bar to the restaurant with food. Just imagine somebody spilled something or tripped and fell on the server. Even if the server had the food on a cart, thats a catastrophe waiting to happen. Also - a suite next to the bar and toilets?! Seriously? Toilets need to have a separate corridor separated from the main corridor. Why? Because of the smell. You can't just let it to the main corridor. And you don't want to see people entering/leaving a toilet while entering the bar. Imagine you are a VIP, just entered the ship, heading to the bar and while you are going through the main corridor, some other guest is leaving a toilet. With the sound of toilet flushing and a bad smell coming from the place. Luxury gone. This is basic stuff. And you need to have separate toilets for the staff. There should be just a one small toilet in the waiters backroom. Otherwise it is completely unnecessary. You never want your waiter to be in some back room doing some stuff. You ALWAYS want to see your waiter and you ALWAYS want him to see you. Especially in those "first class" restaurants. The waiter does not need any room other than a separate toilet(firstly, a toilet for the guests can be dirtier, especially when there is also a bar next to the restaurant area - there will be a lot of drunks who puke or miss the toilet, even among the super-rich, you don't want your waiter to enter this kind of environment and then handle food, secondly, it is a social standard, waiter is below the guest on social ladder at the time he is serving, you don't want him to use the same toilet as the guest uses and the waiter's toilet can be much simpler, more utilitarian, less luxurious, than the guest's toilet) that has to be super-clean. He can use some storage where he has reserve glasses, plates and silverware, but why is there a computer? You should have a computer on or under the bar and work from there, enter your orders for the kitchen there, you can't go to a separate area to enter the order. If that was a case, you wouldn't need the computer at all, you could straight up go to the kitchen and tell them.
Your comment was hard to read (try more spaces between lines) but spot on really. The design of the ship has so many flaws, it would never succeed in a real world.
@@CyberiusT Pretty likely, in this case, since the Banu are supposedly masters of catering to the tastes of their customers (even alien ones), and have sold human-centric Merchantmen to human buyers. They go out of their way to make others feel comfortable, so they're more likely to do business.
@@Mike-zx7lq Would be wierd tho if "our" banu's are different from theirs. Since then they have to make several interior versions of it, incase of us boarding a fully alien one .. for .. trade.. :p
I’ve seen the inside of a few mega-yachts and I have to say that the general crew (not the more senior officers) get about as much personal space as a small tent, some of the rooms were so small the beds were stacked one on top of the other diagonally in the room just to fit. I did ask them how they coped and they always said they were kept busy enough not to care, and paid well. Pool tables and free space tended not to feature much...
@Casanova Frankenstein I think a lot of people would disagree with you. They don't "not know what they're doing". The mistakes are minor and forgiveable.
You have to keep in mind that taking a look at an in-game space ship from the perspective of an architect was - from my limited knowledge - never done before. Shooter maps aren't taken apart like this and other prominent sci-fi games mostly even lack interior as a whole (Halo, Eve online...). You can't judge them for making mistakes while doing things that no one pulled off before: creating habitable areas as would actual humans, living beings use every day. And even in reality, architects make *big* mistakes that create not only minor discomfort (like this spa lift) but hostile environments. Here in Germany, they still haven't finished the airport in Berlin due to major errors in planning and financing. My opinion is that a video game, filled with living spaces for living humans is *not* easy to pull off without references.
@@timogeerties3487 the reason its taken apart and "investigated"in detail is that millions of ppl forked down hard earned cash in a game they refuse to realize can never be accomplished or delivered as promise...ppl rather go in deep to try save face than admit they fucked up
Casanova Frankenstein I think you actually have a point despite making it sound very harsh. CIG has a history of having their ships be redesigned over an over again which of course burns money and resources. You don’t have to be an interior architect to see the most striking design flaws of e.g. the 600i, perhaps because they are building ships mainly from a gaming point of view and not also a realistic one and the „flaws“ we are talking about here are often of the highest standards. Could a bit more thought go into such ships, considering their price? Definitely. Do they need to hire an actual architect to have a look at their designs? Only if it would actually save ships from having to be redesigned over and over again. A bit more time and love in the design phase may already help even though an additional quality control might be appropriate. After all there are already multiple persons involved into such a process, where process supervisors should realize too striking flaws in design and having read the Jump Point articles about ship creation the communication between what they want and what they get seems sometimes difficult, as these designers appear to work from home and likely work on multiple projects, where they only send and receive feedback every few days. To involve another supervisor might be even more tricky.
I really appreciate your perspective on the digital world. As a photographer I find this review to be inspiring to say the least. It's a beautifully constructed and narrated piece, and I am sure the game developers would agree. Bravo, keep on this path its a great experience.
This was extremely useful and great learning experience. I work as 3D artist and some critiques that you give in this video is like having a good tutorial about the design. Thanks for doing these, it was the 1st one I saw and now I can't wait to see other videos you made.
Your architect review series, especially on some of the bigger ships in the game, is among some of the best SC content I’ve ever seen. The sound and cadence of your voice; the careful, considered perspective you bring as a practicing architect; the ability to view spaces through the eyes of those who will interact with them most (e.g., guests, crew, etc.); and the beautiful cinematic shots and remarkable attention to detail make these videos such a enjoyable and relaxing experience. They’re something that I really look forward to seeing each time a major new ship is released.
@HaloBaller9813 the ship is a cruiser so it'd never be a true danger, and as lucifier said, the artificial gravity will counteract acceleration from ejecting everone. Space vehicles aren't like earth ones at all.
@@danepher Fair point, however the risk of such things is low enough that the type of person who rides one of these may choose to ignore safety in the face of aesthetics.
I've been looking forward to your opinion ever since it was released and it didn't disappoint. Thank you sharing your considered and enthusiastic points, I hope CIG takes them on board. My own personal gripe is that there isn't a gym, otherwise I'm very impressed and hope the lessons learned from its design filter back to the older Origin ships.
They kinda technically do? Looks like the main hangar is supposed to double as a basketball half-court. Granted any ship you had for passenger ferrying would have to be out of there, but I could see myself having that ship out on escort duties 90% of the time anyway.
I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in. The 890J was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
Woo thanks morph I love ur architect reviews, as a tradesmen I have my own set of problems with some ships but architects like your self bring more insight then the basics of designs I know. Well most of the time :P some architets drive me up the walls like wanting a 3m long floating bench
Typical sign of someone with no understanding of practicality. Design is a type of art. But in theory it requires some grounding in the realities and limitations of construction. Doesn't mean any given architect would actually understand or respect that though. XD
@Casanova Frankenstein most of the time its just weird ways of things to make there place unique which i get, some things are awesome, its just that one bad apple that leaves a sour taste in your mouth.
My god this game is the most beautiful and realistic game I’ve honestly ever seen. It essentially achieves graphically what cyberpunk was trying to do.
I just watched a video of a man go into immense detail to critique a virtual spaceship in a video game. Am I ashamed? Not at all. I stayed for the whole thing. I was also studying architecture then moved to graphic design, and I find it fascinating how design can do so much to sway thoughts and the subconscious. Thanks for the video, really beautiful!
This was incredible to watch! The quality of the video is unmatched, I really enjoyed watching. The 890 jump is so amazing, I cant wait for something like it to be built in the future, hopefully I will be there to see it, because it is unbelievable.
I really love your architect reviews series. It’s great to show the ships but also hits close to home. Education wise I was supposed to become an architect but I never got a job in that field. I slid into more of a mixed bag in power substation design instead. So it’s really awesome to hear these thoughts on design.
I started watching this video just to see the ship but the way u told me about and with the music on the background and the cinematic shot just at the right time gave me the feeling i was exactly their walking next to u while u were explaining it all to me. @@flute136 I find it funny because this whole meme of "Star Citizen is a scam" and "X will be done before Star Citizen comes out... If it ever does" is slowly dying as people start seeing the incredible tech that it took to get this far. I mean, there is seriously no other game out there that pushes things this far. Don't wanna spend $1000 on a ship? Then don't. Spend $50 on an Avenger Titan and get a fantastic ship that can do anything ingame while spending the remaining $10 that you saved from buying a "AAA Game" on some icecream. It's so weird to see a game that actually keeps looking better as time goes on, instead of aging graphically and gameplay-wise. As for Elite Dangerous being a better game... Right... I've played both and can easily state that the universe feels not only hollow, but incomplete surface-wise. Speaking of incomplete, where are those player-fleet carriers that were supposed to be in for December? Is Space Legs actually going to be an FPS module or a glorified walkathon for the fleet carriers? (Which is the community theory for the delay) meanwhile SC has been built from the ground up with FPS in mind, whether engaging in a firefight on a desert planet while small agile fighters vye for air dominion overhead, or destroyers and their escorts pound each other with torpedoes and barrages of firepower. "Way better full game" You might like arcadey shooters, that's fine, I do too and honestly Elite D is a good game for what it sets out to do, I enjoyed it for a bit with friends. But what the devs are trying to do here is absolutely insane and is not even comparable to what Elite Dangerous is. Two different games with two different goals.

@@TooLateNate That is part of the problem. Creating tech is only half the work to make a game... And if you take almost a decade to finish it, there is a great chance that the tech developped will fall behind what will be made in the time the game is finished. But that ship look sick, tho'.

I'm blown away at the design touches. These guys make games not hotels and yachts. There's a couple minor nitpicks but they are minor. Kudos to the devs. The little details are fantastic. It's the kind of home I wish I had in real life! And kudos to Morph for doing the research into things like the big lighted wall thing. Great eye, and caught some many things I didn't. Analyzing from a guest and worker's POV - brilliant. A lot of work but I really enjoyed it. I make games so I see the game design side. You want defendable not impregnable. So weak spots can make for a more fun game. This is really a floating FPS level map. I don't get the whole digital luxury thing but it's sure pretty. And another milestone! Our first capital class ship! Also a ship that easily carries other ships. Technical things like so many windows while keeping rendering perfomance good. It's magical. What people said were impossible are slowwwly becoming a reality. There's no other game on this level. It's just ruined so many games for me. ...But that basketball hoop is way too low unless you want children to be able to dunk. Literally unplayable! 😜
My problem with this ship, as a designer, is that while it's beautiful - it is also very confusing. There are a lot of walkways and rooms, but it's not immediately clear where everything is or which way to take. This becomes even more appearent when you think about it in terms of efficiency, e.g. space used, human behaviour or a case of emergency. It's clear that this ship was designed by game designers, and not a real industrial design team who would think about these kind of things. It's more of a "what would look cool" than a "what makes sense first and how can we make that look good".
I wonder how the water pool behaves on a space ship, when the ship fights, rolls over multiple times in space, does the water stay in the pool or floods the interior?
@@qu2324 Yeah, and remember, when your ship gets disabled and loses power, artificial gravity will cease to function. So if you don't have mag boots, you're gonna be in for a rough time.
This review is incredible and all your talk of hosting high profile luxury business meetings just made me think of the fun roleplay potential that I hope this ship sees come to fruition.
I personally don't think the kitchen is big enough to service so many guests. Yes they have all the time in the universe, I think, but that much space is only enough for two or three cooks at maximum, and the sink is on the other side of the hovering counter. A way to fix that would be to use the space otherwise inaccessible due to the hovering counter and detach it so that it runs parallel to the rest of the counter space, thereby also providing a place to put finished dishes for conveyance onto carts. Also, the drains in the spa showers look like they would kill my feet. xD
Agreed, i think the crew area is excessive and could have been reduced giving the main galley more area with a central oven bench so cooks can go around it, like Hell's Kitchen perhaps :P

@@MOMMASBOY888 Most likely, the "house of the owners" would just be the captain's suite on the back of the ship. The rest of the ship's living accommodations would either be for paid guests that would be paying for the operating costs of the vessel or friends, family or business associates of the owners. It's actually very common for real life yacht owners to have the ship being used year round by renting it out for use whenever the owners aren't using it themselves. And I'm both amused and impressed and attracted by both the ship and the video. I think you just introduced Star Citizen for a kid who's usually into FPS games. Nice job man.

It's clear that I have far too much time on my hands! For example, check out the commentary beginning at 17:21. You could almost see a future time where real-world architects / designers are hired by developers like RSI to assist in the actual design of various 3d models like this. Blows my mind...

I was thinking the same.... an expedition variant of the 890 would be awesome.
they can do it with the 300 series, and i would love to have the same kind of choice for my Jump. But not only different colours but as you said complete liverys. i mean i already spend 1000 bucks on it what is 10 bucks more for a livery then

This wasn't a review, it was a documentary, so good, amazing work mate.

And a MASSIVE help for CIG as well
@Casanova Frankenstein I think a lot of people would disagree with you.

They’re something that I really look forward to seeing each time a major new ship is released.
6:12 Also, no handrail. That would be bad enough in a building but a ship moves around.
The artificial gravity would be working to prevent such issues, but this ship would hardly ever be moving in a fashion that would cause those issues.

I started watching this video just to see the ship but the way u told me about and with the music on the background and the cinematic shot just at the right time gave me the feeling i was exactly their walking next to u while u were explaining it all to me. I really loved this video and u got my sub and i will share this video with my friends leep making these kind of amazing video's
RSI selling $1,000 virtual ships
everyone: ptttt who would buy that
everyone after watching this video: iight, imma get my wallet.
Jean Giboyeaux Yep
me spending 30 bucks on a way better full game called elite dangerous. with 1st person to probably release before SC comes out.
@@TooLateNate not denying how awesome the game looks. i know the technology is there. by the time the game releases the gpus will be powerful enough to run it, thats even considering the problem isnt the bad optimization.
Im just saying, they can file bankruptcy before release and they dont owe you SHIT. 170 million bucks kickstarter and not released yet? just dont be surprised if something happens. Hopefully when it releases, its possible to earn the 50buck ship ingame too though.
@@TooLateNate That is part of the problem. Creating tech is only half the work to make a game... And if you take almost a decade to finish it, there is a great chance that the tech developped will fall behind what will be made in the time the game is finished.
But that ship look sick, tho'.
Man, it's the 3rd time I watch this video, and I probably will again, the magnificence of this ship with your thoughtful analysis and commenting is just the thing I need, keep up this excellent work
This was great! I was really interested to hear your take on the 890 jump.
This is the best detailed in-game review I've ever seen 😍
34:00 was a close call!
What a very wonderful review. It was fascinating to listen to someone with such a sense of fine detail!
'The basketball hoop ruined it for me, literally unplayable 10/10 IGN'
@@BJJGamer lmfao... i laughed here. But you are right.
@@BJJGamer if I could pay for a crew on ships like this I'd expect them to better handle energy consultant and shit.
This review is incredible and all your talk of hosting high profile luxury business meetings just made me think of the fun roleplay potential that I hope this ship sees come to fruition.
This is like watching a review of an actual Yacht, a really good one at that. Really cool stuff :D

This is really well produced and professionally done. Thank you for providing information and insights in design perspectives. Quite refreshing : )
Also, the drains in the spa showers look like they would kill my feet. xD
Agreed, i think the crew area is excessive and could have been reduced giving the main galley more area with a central oven bench so cooks can go around it, like Hell's Kitchen perhaps :P
i wanna see this fully staffed with tons of people i imagine someone did a whole rp series with this fully crewed and stuff
and then the npc pitates come and destroy the ship xD. Happened to me. Accidentally pressed the self destruct button.
Wow! Thank you for the awesome architecture lesson and the guided tour of this beauty! Your architect reviews are truly inspiring one to dive deeper into that matter and are something way more than just great Star Citizen content.
What an incredibly well crafted and in depth analysis of the design choices! Stunning Work!
You are so good at this. Seriously, I think you have a future in being a Yacht Broker.
Your review and the mental presentation of all the work and thought that went into designing this ship is just marvellous!
Love this ship. Legit love at first site. Definitely east on the eyes. I’m a sucker for a beautifully designed sci-fi ship. Something that convinces me one day we’ll actually have it. Great video morph!
RSI is the pinnacle of game design change my mind
I love how he reviews it as if he was an actual critic in the star citizen universe. “Another impressive detail that deserves a round of applause”, as you would say.
I'm both saddened and in awe that I needed to be reminded multiple times that this is a game.
"and yes it is obscene, but we have to remember that that's who we are catering to"... yes, the obscene.
The 1/10 of the 1% Corporate Overlords and corrupt political parties.
I said the same thing to myself. I personally do not see the appeal towards living in a large space like the one we see in the video. A cozy apartment is all I really need.
Thank you for this. I have used this video as a precedent for one of my projects at university XD
how much its $$$ cost?
Developer: yes
@Paul Pugh what in real money!
$950 base. You can find the information here --> starcitizen.tools/890_Jump and here's the buy page --> robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/890-jump/890-Jump
Most players who purchase this are going to be high-end organization leaders who will be using it as a command ship for their fleets and orgs, and using it to conduct business with other orgs and factions.
LazyLime are they not selling this anymore? I don’t see any price on the linked pages.
@@thelordsauron That's because they put it up for sale, but only limited stock. So they'll put it up every few months or so, but only sell like 10 (idk the actual number)
@@thelordsauron Hence the "Quantity limited sales" tag on the tools page.
Making all 890 owners realize all the subtle design flaws. I just got one and the stairs was something I immediately noticed in the atrium... now I’ll never be able to miss the wood odd floor change in the private kitchen lol.
I know this feedback is a bit late, but I just wanted to say thanks for these. You raise good points, share your area of expertise and you keep it brief enough to take in as a whole. Really enjoying this series of yours.
Wow, impressive work! You saw many details I have missed before. I also fell in love with that ship on first sight. It sooooo much better than the 600i. I just hope they do a serious rework of that ship to get in on the level of the 890j (and the 300i, which is quite nice now, too)
Why would a lower level, cheaper ship be on the same level as the top of the line, most expensive ship? That's like buying a cheap 2 bedroom house and expecting the same interior as a 50 million dollar mansion.
They mentioned in a video last week they would be taking a lot of the lessons learned on the 890 and applying them back to the 600i
@@SuperMontsta the 600i is not cheap lol.
It's still supposed to be luxurious, in the same way the 300i is still luxurious. You pay extra for the size, not just the privalege of it actually being designed properly.
@@johnwolf2349 600i "Let the voyage begin with the 2947 600i from Origin Jumpworks. The result is a vessel that is in a class all of its own, a masterpiece worthy of the name ORIGIN."
One says masterpiece, one says "unique, innovative design with the finest materials". Where did it ever say that the 600i will be crafted with the finest materials too? These quotes are directly from the RSI website for each ship.
@@SuperMontsta Lol, they're already using a lot of the same materials, and that's not a justification for its design being bad. In the very paragraphs you quoted, the 600i is a luxury ship. It's supposed to be luxurious.
Also, you realise those are basically the in-universe advertisement spiels right?
Excellent video! CIG seems to be listening to your input.
One of my favorite videos of all time. Love to see more
Just a testament to this game's incredible scale, I'm constantly being impressed
7:28 A couple "Authorised Personnel Only" signs would be a simple fix for this issue.
As a luxury guest, I don't want to be told not to go somewhere. Instead, I want to feel in authority that I just know the way, even if it's subconscious cues from the environment. It's the little things that make someone feel "important."
So would it instead be better to have (as he said) a greeter of some sort, or perhaps a “VIP area” sign of some sort next to the correct door?
You dont tell billionaires what to do. You design stuff so they know what to do and do it because they want to.
So.. A significantly larger, more flashy door, perhaps a greeter, and maybe have their entrance be closer to the immediate center of a human field of view when they walk in? Dunno why, but this is interesting to me
Subbed. Craftsman builder guy here, and I gotta say, the attention to detail here is both mind-blowing and relieving. Too much stuff with too little thought, nowadays. Ill be watching the rest of your videos and taking literal notes and sketches! Those beautiful wall reliefs especially have me looking at my chisels. Also, I've worked with bending wood a couple of times and It isnt anything to shake a stick at- those poolside chairs and deck could be someones point of pride for life! Anyways, I really appreciate the designers taste and efforts, and you for making a video about it! I never would have seen this interior normally, since my poor laptop gets angry at me for running pretty games.
This ship looks dreamy, epic video.
Love the videos. Very original informing and soothing. Please keep it up
I really enjoyed your detail to the lighting and color temperature. It one of the first things I notice in any space.
Thanks for the video it was very well done.
I look forward to even more of these.
Imagine have a whole family in the ship like its their home
Truth to be told this yacht is quite larger than your average houses it's like a mini mansion in the skies, large enough to accomodate your extended family at that( i.e. provided that your extended family is actually not toxic ).
After all the crew are already there so you might as well recap some of the costs of the yacht.
This is one of the videos that brought me into Star Citizen. Thanks morph
As always a good perspective of one of our ships!
