@@neighborsue This only scratches the surface with Tim Minchin. He writes serious stuff too (wrote the music for Matilda and Groundhog Day the musical), is an actor, director, writer and poet.
You cannot go wrong with Tim Minchin - phenomenally talented. Wrote Matilda the musical, appeared as Judas in the stage version of Jesus Christ Superstar and just funny af. Lullaby is another of my favourites from him - for anyone with kids, it will hit home.
@@jackwhitbread4583 I am all in for learning more about this gentleman. He was captivating in the first video, and I love theater. Entertainers with big expressions of emotionality I just love.!! Thank you. Starting up a list!!! thank you Jack
@@secondhandreactions looking forward to watching them! fyi if you do the pope song, look for "pope song with lyrics - live"... the really popular pope song one with the most views has a video quality issue and it gets choppy during it. Also worth checking out is "thank you god" "dark side- awesome version" "confessions" "inflatable you" and "song for wossy" A lot of his stuff after about 2010 isn't comedy because he got into more serious stuff and became a musical composer.
Thank you for these suggestions! I’ve definitely seen him around, but I don’t think I’ve seen him preform until this video. I definitely want to hear more. This was fantastic. Ok, I have to ask, what do you mean by ‘are a biscuit here’ ? Lol
He's a brilliant comedian but also a serious musician, actor and wrote music for the movie Matilda. Brilliant wordsmith check out his nine minute beat poem Storm but definitely the live version
She talked over his first spelling and didn't understand the second time. Then she didn't get the joke AT ALL during the reveal. Frustrating when people don't listen or understand.
We get critiqued for everything. Seriously. Pause more. Pause less. Talk more. Talk less. We’ve realized can’t make everyone happy all the time, so we just gotta do it the way we feel it in the moment. ✌️
@@secondhandreactions not a critic, more a request/advice. With some singers/songs lyrics aren't as important, but that's not the case with Tim's. Specially with his comedy songs lyrics are a huge part, and he sings so damn fast that it's easy to miss something important if you talk over it. But It's your channel, of course you can do whatever suits you better, but people get disappointed when reactors miss good stuff (for instance, I'm not sure she really got the twist with the words). As I said, I wasn't complaining, it wasn't a "how you dare! This is bad!", it clearly was a "please 🙏". 🤷🏻♀️
As a Canadian who was first introduced to gingernuts when working on farms in New Zealand in the 1970s, it might be a little misleading to North Americans to refer to them as "biscuits" or "cookies". Which they are...but biting into a gingernut without dunking it into something like a cup of hot tea (of whatever flavour) might lead to serious dental challenges. But of course, Tim was totally aware that many might understand this line as a double-entendre...thus emphasizing his point about our knee-jerk reactions to certain words.
Pete Eley was right
