I remember playing AOE1 in high school back in the day. As a Yoruba man, seeing Yoruba units in AOE3DE hits different...I don't know how to even explain it.
My brother, I’m Fulani from Kano. So you can imagine how I feel too!!! 🙏🙏
To both of you gentlemen, I'm now interested in your language and culture thank to this game.
The archers are like the berber archers in the historical battles with fire rate depending on distance.
The jav riders look like they'll be good for raiding. Tps, torps, shrines will be easier targets.
They have many different units, very nice. It seems that Hausa will be extremely unpredictable and annoying for opposite side 😀
the sound for the watch tower is the same sound as the AOE1 watch tower.
Yes! The nostalgiaaa
aoe1 soundeffects still sound so cool even decades later
@@latbat58 I like all the sounds except the sound of melee attacks (the high-pitched metal sound)
Something missed:
1: Maybe a bug, some Eso riders(in 25:50) are 0.60 armor, but some have only 0.40 armor(in 26:33)
2: There is a card to unlock Lifidi Knight in age 2.
3: Moroccan have a tech to unlock Corsair Marksmen (age 4 barbary revo unit) in age 2.
4: Maigadi, not Mangudai
probably it's the clone
I really wish Moroccans had been a full civ and not just an age alliance/historical battle civ.
Nice vid! Also I just realized that the build sounds for the African civs buildings are from AOE 1
The desert archers have the voice of saracens military units from aoe 2 too 9:07
I like how the berber camel riders and desert archers voicelines are reused from the Berbers and Sarracens civs from AoE 2, it's kinda strange hearing them in AoE 3 but it makes it more familiar coming from playing the other game.
Great overview, still overwhelmed by the amount of units the african civs can come up with! :) Missed out on the Lifidi Knight card in age 2 (also unlocking them for training), and the Corsair Marksmen outlaws which can be unlocked with Marocco age-up. From our feeling, those units can be very important fpr Hausa age 2 play, allowing for a super strong cav timing push, and early musketeer / skirmisher combo.
You were spot on Drongo. It didn't take long for desert warrior's 50% resists in stand ground to be nerfed XD.
Awesome vid
Berber looks awesome and is almost complete ,they wud look awesome as seperate civ
That was my dream but I'm happy with hausa
im sure there can be a lot more concise overview.Hausa seem really good even tho im biased towards ethiopia, excited!
Awesome unit review, now hopefully that weird farm mechanic of theirs will be explained in a future video, I hope...?
Maigadi is the most op unit i ever seen
Both 115 resources, see Keshik's HP/AT and compare with Javelin rider...
I would bet my life that drongo is going to try that Yoruba pop in the upcoming tourney
It's possible to lock artillery armed?
Sometimes in the battle when I move the artillery they disarm to go faster but it's not always needed or a good idea.
Thank s
No there isn't, but know you can click again on the bombard stance to keep them armed.
Desert Archer voice's so familiar to me...
Technically influence is infinite, it never stops generating
did you cover the griots?
How about the marks men?
I want to know what the songhai give, i was hoping they would be one of the civs we got
Give a big button to quick spawn 5 Raider for 500 influence in TC and tower, can reuse after cooldown several minutes.
@Drongo, have you got Covid? No streaming no posts?
AOE4 beta :)
26:52 anybody know why some of them have 60 rr and others have 40 rr?
perhaps the twins from the tech?
African royals civs seem ok
When the codes being sent?
Feels like they are overdoing it a bit with the options, just like the US civ, its better to also keep it simple like the original game.
where gameplay ??
:c
#BerberGang
AND the hausa british allies ?
@@ANSELAbitsxb to be fair the British only came when they enforcing the abolition of slavery. Ended up shelling Lagos and overthrowing the regime and United the tribes into modern day Nigeria
What do you mean?
You cant stop repeating yourself and making unpertinent comments to stress the same point over and over. Instead of comparing simply, clearly and Concisely.
Being Concise is what you need.
And that's why more people play AOE2 then AOE3. This is ridiculous that already complicated game become even more complicated with each new civ.
But that makes playing more interesting! Every match is different
@@louistostmann2049 True but somebody who never played AOE3, it's already pretty steep hill to climb to learn AOE3 DE, but all this expansion (US and African) takes it on another level
For those who played legacy is a refreshing and welcome addition but I can understand that jumping into the whole thing from the beginning is overwhelming. But the fun pays the effort, at least if you overlook some flaws if the AI and the new flaws with the matchmaking system
