What did you think of this build order? Spanish Logistician is definitely looking good, especially on water! Would you like to see more of MashedPotato72? Definitely a big fan of his strategies.
I think it is good strategy when close to the lake/sea, lots of food gathered with fishing boats at early game really helps, but become an issue if the home is landlocked. XD
That was a remarkably excting game. I enjoyed Mashed Potatoes previous match cast as Aztecs, however this one seemed just as insane. Awesome casting job by Drongo, too; he really added quite a bit of spice to this banquet of a game.
The Logistician now adds a whole new window of opportunity for Spain, letting them focus on early aggression to combat other timed rush. Really cool game and definitely showcases it very well
on water.... and the brit didnt contest water nor went full manor boom and wasn't aggressive enough with his macro; spain only outboom him around the time spain hit age 4; bad play by brit
It is only a pity that a card system will not be in AoE 4. The card system adds so much strategic depth to the game. It is one of the main reasons I prefer AoE 3 over AoE 2. Que lastima!
Ive started experimenting with shipping 300 wood first shipment/second shipment with ports. It helps because you can 10/10 pick up the 300 wood for a house + rax or house + market and chop 100 for a rax. It’s a weird move but just sets up for a more consistent push early age 2 because you don’t need the downtime to chop the wood in transition.
I've been using a similar strategy to this one and yes, it'sabsolutely magnificent. If you play with allies, and your ally/ies can cover you to focus on rushing age 3, saving all your shipments, then use them all with the spanish gold and you boon like crazy.
I did a similar build immediately after the change because I expected it to be very good. Without water you can easily keep up production from 2 barracks if you can get some tps. You don't even need atp, it's better to build them in transition.
I was quite surprised by your reaction drongo at first sight on his deck. Looks like logistician was so barely used in past, that even you forgot about one of your first videos. :D
Honestly though, I think Microsoft did quite a lot recently. Bringing back over a decade old games with updates and new contents. I don't know many other old franchises that got stuff like this.
@@prussianblue9316 aoe2 is dope. But i don't mind aoe3 tbh, falcontes decks forts factories, i like aoe3 and I'm so happy they started caring about this game
I think it's best to focus most of your cards in age 2 and age 3, in fact I made a video about making a deck, you can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/1dsUPSMBGqQ/v-deo.html
The spanish outbooming the british, never thought of that. Potatoes does know his build though, and with all those upgrades it does have the age3-4 advantage if he can make it there
the bo is quite powerfull but water fish with spain remain difficult Imo. You can only defend yourself with a single rax during a long time and it is difficult to protect the docks also. Fortunately in this game, the birtt is quite passive.
i think that goes to show that water booming is something you need to address as a player, you need to be aware of this economic force and at least try to disturb it

Man, this is the kind of game that shows how age of empires 3 has si much potential for different strategies!
Getting flashbacks to when Aussie loved the Logistician even more than he loved Sweden.
I really like the "building up a surprise army" tactics.

that army at the end was devestating

This is exactly like my games with the spanish. Except that i hit those numbers of units around 20min later. omg this shit is bonkers.
