3:15 The moment Ten started to realise he wasn't liking what he was becoming. The grin, the swagger, it was fading and he was becoming everything he hated about the Timelords. The fact he took so long to think of saving Wilf, compared to his saving of Peri on Androzani, and let a dear friend see the ugliness that was forming inside of him all summed up in those words, 'live too long'. Just such a brilliant performance.
That look tenant gives Wilfred after he tells him to leave him. It’s equal parts appreciation for Wilfred’s words and frustrated acceptance that he’d never let that happen.
I just love how angry he gets. That deep in his soul he already knew that there isn't anything in the universe that will convince him not to risk his own life for the sake of saving Wilfred's, not even Wilfred himself.
3:23 - how to encapsulate the incredibly complex feelings of fictions greatest ever character as he is about to sacrifice himself yet again to save others in one single sigh. David is one of the actors of the our generation.
That scene is so unbearable I don't even know what I'm doing here. Wilfred knocks four times, four times. Those two most precious souls facing an impossible choice. The writers couldn't have written anything more heartbreaking. The whole tragedy of Ten is encapsulated in that scene, the peak of the romantic hero he is, in the literary sense of the word. Torn between the way he sees himself and what the universe keeps giving him. The tortured being longing for something that is over before it has begun. Rose, Reinette, River, Donna, Wilfred. That pure soul doomed to every sacrifice, including the ultimate one, and to end up, literally, alone. That scene alone should have given Tennant all the awards, I could write a thesis on all the different emotions I perceive through the tone of his voice, the looks in his eyes, the expressions of his face and his body language. Forever my Doctor 💙
@@seanj565 Exactly! I was horrified. I was already in so much pain knowing Ten would go. And then they make Wilfred the trigger of it all. It broke me.
I’ll never forget this moment. The moment the Dr and all of us watching realized, that this, gentle, lovely old man was the one who brings the Dr’s doom. We never expected it. Dr who was pure magic at this point. It will never be this pure, this lovely or this special ever again. I will forever remember this tear jerking moment
This is one of the best moments I've ever seen on TV. It still hurts every time I watch it. If I ever write something HALF this good, I've officially made it.
glad someone uploaded a version of this without the beginning cut off. the first knocks give me chills
Right? I get annoyed that people cut off the knocks, as it’s an important part to the story.
I knooow, it's such a good bit
The look of absolute horror and defeat in the doctors eyes whilst Wilf is knocking is heartbreaking 💔

I think he knew his decision the moment he heard those knocks; it's why he was so angry when saying "I could do so much more"

So true. Magnificent acting.

J E S U S ! The Doctor’s expression changing from triumph to terror, and the music changing with it! *C H I L L S !*
Murray gold at his best but I remember when it first aired and my mom cried and I didn't know what to do

This is why David Tennant will forever be my doctor

Please write the thesis, I'll read it! This scene is... I don't have the words to describe it. This scene *is*
I’ll never forget this moment.

One of the best twists in BBC history 👌
Watched this after episode 2 of 10's return, I'm bawling Bernard is phenomenal.

Tennants run was by far my favorite, his melancholic doctor is so good and convincing
I just love the little moment when 10 tells Wilf to be quick, but Bernard Cribbins can only go so fast and we just accept it’s quick enough 😊
the performence of a life time, and it's just a normal monday for david tennant
So sad to watch now with the passing of Bernard Cribbins (RIP).
jokes on him he knocked 16 times in total
He knocked four times, four times
@@AlexSmith-gr3el u missed the joke
@@Anonymous-yq6wy eh, probably did tbh

David has to be my favorite actor ever
