Nice video! But if you dump a rom you can't just sell your original cartridge and keep your rom. In Europe, the law says that you can have a backup of any game/dvd/bluray as long as you keep owning the original and you don't sell the copies of course. I'm not just saying that to be "Mr Legal" but because UA-cam can strike your video for that. Anyway, keep up the good work mate!
So in theory you could so use this to get a bunch of Legendaries from the Pokémon games and then trade to them to another Pokémon game that's gonna hold them for you and then once you've cloned them all transfer them back to the game you want them on
Yeah I just recently finally had my batteries die on me. They lasted a long time! Just replaced them, so now back to the grindstone with fresh memory batteries!
@@r100curtaincall yeah the battery last 10+ years without fail just when i went to check my pc box of my hard 6 months work of trading with friends that no longer care or play pokemon it was a grind because that is link cable days :(
Fast Forward to 2022. You can't get the GB-01 anymore. Support is now limited according to their website. Although you can still get the software, it is not known how long the site will stay up. No further updates to the software will be released. The Software was called by the community to be made open source, but Submodule commented that due to using some proprietary libraries that were bought from other companies to be used in their software they were not allowed to make it open source for future updates. Glad I got mine while I still could (Also Glad I waited 6 months to get it in the states instead of cancelling my order).
Please don't take this as an attack, but I must clarify something. Your mention of selling the games after dumping is actually one of the illegal reasons to dump ROMs, just like distribution of the ROM itself. ROM dumping is only really legal for backup of owned games in case of damage, loss, or for library consolidation while storing the original copies (just like CD/MP3 ripping). Of course, I state this purely for informational reasons. I love your videos and look forward to the next one. And I actually am interested in the product. It could be used in migration of GB saves to a hacked 3DS, something many Pokemon fans would love to do in order to migrate their Pokemon to newer games.
I'd highly recommend the GBxCart RW by insideGadgets. It's ~$30 and supports a LOT of cartridges (as far as I know MBC1, MBC2, MBC3, MBC5, and flash carts with the GBxCart icon that you can find here: flashcartdb.com/index.php/Main_Page ). It also has support for saving Game Boy Camera photos as well as recovering deleted ones. Definitely worth checking out.
you might want to check out bennvenn's version of the card reader, it reads and WRITES saves AND ROMS on gb, gbc, and even gba bootleg carts. original carts cannot be rewritten of course, but that won't be possible at all I think, so that's about as good as you'll ever get
Yes! Love your videos! Also, I'm a GB collector... guess I need that... Also, there's a thing called mega memory pack that also allows you to do this, great to see there's other options too!👍🏾👌🏾👍🏾👌🏾👍🏾
thanks for the vid showing this off! I have my old games, a new emulator console and I hope *fingers crossed* that it'll even work with my old flash cart that just can't run with it's connecter on a modern computer. oh, and I'm pleased to say that the discount code still works :)

You should make a video about the retroflag gpi case when it comes out. Very interesting! They charge in Euros and they seem to be from Holland but are they sent from Europe safe? Because if they sent it from China they can stop it in customs.
the battery in emerald is only relevant for clock related things. so zero need to worry about your save file and even then. backing up gba save files is even cheaper (if you already have a dual slot ds), even free when you have a ds flashcard
