SP had a special place for me. I had a large family and had to share bedrooms, so playing my regular GBA after dark was near impossible. I think my mum got sick of me chewing through the non-rechargable batteries as well. Also having a super busy day life didn't help. Jamming Advance wars and Pokemon Sapphire under the covers with earphones in was something I'll always cherish.
I mean, personally, I would think it was really cool and give a discount. This is knowing he is a collector and doing it for the joy of the hobby, though.

@@GeneralFrankenberry I can totally respect that. I am just watching a video, I may be absolutely wrong about his intentions. I appreciate the civil response.
I was very fortunate to have found the graphite AGS-101 at a thrift store for like 8 bucks many years ago. Love the black buttons and backlit screen, it really was a big step up from the original. Such a great console
I had a pearl blue SP as a kid but I lost it. I tried to look for another one but they were too expensive for me (I think I was still in middle school?) until one day my ex'sother casually had one lying around and didn't know the value so I bought it for like… $10 or so. Just fixed it a couple days ago and I've been playing Pokemon and Monster Rancher on it ever since.
My SP was solely responsible for my life long love of gaming. I have ADHD and I’ve always been able to focus really well on a good game. The SP holds a special place in my heart.
I'm autistic and Pokemon games were what made me want to dab in game development. Other monster raising/collecting games also helped me use my creativity to design monsters for the game I wanna work on.
Watching videos like these really make me regret that I never decided to collect these as a kid. I either gave them a way or sold them for newer gaming things haha. It's still cool as hell to see people collecting them!
It ok because we Poor it’s ok ; I wanted to keep every console and game for the future but I knew my parents couldn’t afford this hobby so I just decided to sell most of it for the latest gen. But at least some other person got to experience those games and consoles
The prices are insane now for SPs I got the backlit Sky blue SP. I was supposed to get the spongebob one for $30 like 8 years ago the girl holding it flaked and sold it. Also 2 years ago I almost bought that green and orange toy r us boxed sp from a serious collector that he bought as a kid. But he never found it. Cool dude he would do 50% off Ebay prices. I scored other great goodies, but that one was pretty exclusive.
Yeah, I also found your channel by chance (just looked for Nintendo Switch on UA-cam) and your 4$ Switch Game Video came up. I didnt know this kind of content was a thing and even though I'm not interested in reselling myself, I binged your videos over the weekend. Its really entertaining, keep it up!
Glad to see ppl getting into the hobby as i'm transitioning out. I've been selling off my collection slowly prices just got to a point where it seemed to good not to sell especially the rarer games.
I grew up on SP, it was my first handheld. I had the very light blue-ish silver, my sister had the red, and my brother had the dark blue. Ugh, the nostalgia of this is really pulling at me 😭
Jealous! I love the GBA SP and only currently have the blue backlit one. Would love to get a graphite one, or even the pink one. Such a great handheld with so many games. It was such a wow factor when the Game Boy Advance came out. It was the first time you could really play actual full games like the home consoles. Loved that! Cause up until that point it was always dumbed down versions for handhelds. Hoping to get some boxed ones in the future! An NES backlit one would be a lot of fun as well!
I personally would love to get an original iQue dragon themed one. iQue produced the GBA SP under license for the Chinese market and the red/black dragon themed one is absolutely beautiful. But they are beyond hard to get as originals. I have a reshelled GBA SP with that design, but I'd love to get my hands on an original one.
Keep up the good work Caleb!! I love your content!! You have inspired me to start my own eBay!! I watch your videos to figure out what all is good out there. Thanks again man!!!
I remember I went to a yard sale and got an SP for 15 bucks and It came with 3 games. One of them was Tom and Jerry which made me rage and I broke that SP. I regret breaking that SP seeing how valuable they are now.
I still have my SP and my brothers SP from our childhood. A silver and a black one both with chargers too. Both of them works and recently I found a gameboy advance (non SP) in a thrift store for 10$.
Me too i have my sp from my childhood , same charger it came with too . Only problem is my charger is chewed on from my mom vacuuming over it back in the days 😂😂
thank you for the education. i found a GBA SP at a yard sale this weekend with Mario 3 and Sega pack for $2. i had sold it on ebay but the buyer was going to be problemmatic so i cancelled the sale at his request. What i learned is that the unit i bought is Graphite and not Onyx. Appreciate the challenge you did and the free education
Loved my gba sp though it was front lit silver. I loved how portable it was, basically like having a wallet in your pocket. Can’t believe the prices being charged here, I’m really stunned.
I mean it's convention prices, you're getting them from middle men that scour the country to provide lazy buyers at the convention with convenience. Plus they probably have to pay a fee just to be able to sell there.
Ahhhh its always amazing seeing others find these gems, but it also makes me cry painfully on the inside. :') I wish I could find any Gameboy for these lower prices where I live. Even to this day I remember when I found out that my personal Gameboy(THE first edition Gameboy btw), 2 of my game boy advances AND my Gameboy SP and games were stolen when I was moving. My movers decided and thought that my personal items were theirs to look through and become their personal shopping list

I have the game boy advance sp surf blue ags-101, form what I remember when I was a kid I was the only one with the back-lit gameboy, that game boy is very special to me, my father told me I really wanted that model when I was 3 or 4 years old, he told me I wouldn't stop crying so he ended up buying it for me, although I don't it happening I can say that I brought me joy while being on the go, I feel stupid telling my story on how I got it but I thankful to have it. P.s when I was little I don't know why I decided to remove the serial sticker and I wish I'd didn't do that but I was a kid back then that didn't know anything.
I can remember the day the game boy SP was released, I was leaving on vacation at age 13 to fly to Florida (first time I ever flew on an airplane as well) any who I got a day one blue unit, it was the bees knees I remember my parents being in a big hurry to leave but I begged and pleaded for them to stop at target that morning to allow me to purchase it which wasn't a big deal for them since I was a paper delivery boy I had my own earned money to spend on it. I ended up selling most of my game collections at garage sales as I got older but now am trying in my older age to re-acquire and that's on my list yet, fun find this week was a Gameboy advanced at the thrift store, it was blue in color and I didn't think much of it at 1st. it was $20 bucks missing the battery cover, and I figured I could sell it for around $35... then I noticed there were no blue Gameboys listed in the same color, I looked closer at the GBA and noticed there was an adhesive screen protector on it. I peeled it back to reveal it was a limited edition Toys'R'Us GBA and it was actually worth $85 SCORE. your channel has helped me pivot into reselling games and such as a hobby so thank you for that. its keeping my idle hands busy

Same with the 2DS'. I picked some up for 25 bucks when they were being decommissioned and now they all go for 80.
