As someone whose DA boyfriend/husband left a week before our youngest child's first birthday, I want to warn young women out there - don't take him back. I did - twice. I thought he was just immature, as we were so young when we first met. And then I married him and we started a family and were building a life together - or so I thought. Then one day he decided he didn't want to be a husband anymore. Save yourselves the trauma and lifelong heartache of your children traumatized and your family destroyed. Let them go.
I could have written this letter, so helpful to hear it read out. I'm seeing my situation with new eyes! Thank you! Hopefully I will be able to move out of trauma town myself soon x
I so appreciate the candor, compassion and competence you both have shown when addressing all the particulars of this relationship. Ken, I’ve learned a lot from you since early October… My DA boyfriend broke up with me at end of September with an abruptness and unilateral declaration you might say. I have saved your episode, “The Real Reasons Avoidant Attachers Break Up With You “ to Notes. It has soothed my heart listening to that content on repeat during the darkest times. Thank you; I knew nothing about attachment styles prior to the day “ an axe fell on my heart “. Now I’m beginning to learn/heal from more anxious tendencies and learn boundaries through therapy.
Avoidants project exactly what they are doing onto their partner or ex. So ex wife cheated... He was trying to get new gf to have 3somes and weird sex stuff. Can't imagine why the wife cheated 🤦🏼♂️
@cryptotaurusmoon, indeed this sounds too weird. The dude behaving like a narcissist. He’s divorced and has not healed yet to form another bond. He doesn’t want another bond just now, if he’s capable of forming one. She needs to run away, far, far away, the situation doesn’t look promising or healthy. No future with this confused man. A waste of time and much suffering ahead .
