    Hey Good People!
    We now see soooo many people with locs and I'm all here for it. For me, locs are ALWAYS trending-but recently there has been an uptick of people starting their loc journey. I'll discuss some reasons why I think so, but these are definitely not all the reasons. Congrats to all that have recently started their journey!

    I love when other races and cultures appreciate locs! Cultural appreciation is a real thing lol its not all appropriation. Great video!

      Yes and I agree! It is absolutely not all appropriation and we must acknowledge we’ve appreciated other cultures as well😂. Thank you so much for watching 💜

    More people getting locs now because barely any good hairstylist exist anymore and overcharge tf out of clients now. That’s the real truth 😂 if old school hairstylists came back I bet women would be turning away from locs left and right

      It’s definitely different than when I was growing up. I remember stylist would work until midnight, now they stop at 5😂 In my area I’m seeing a lot of stylist offering Loc services but the prices do vary largely.

      Oh shut up, it's the natural hair movement. I will never spend hella coin just to do things that destroy what God gave me, and wear ANOTHER woman's hair on my head. It's disgraceful and everybody knows it fake.

    I started my loc journey in 2019 but was a loose natural for about 10 yrs before starting them because I have always loved them, tired of weaving and braiding my hair using added hair, and the breakdown of my hair from all the years in my youth using the "creamy crack". I have always felt locs symbolize strength within and my Jamaican heritage. I do not regret my decision at all, and always knew that I would loc my hair once i got up in age...only regret I have was not doing it sooner ❤

      That’s my biggest regret…..not starting sooner. So you had a lot of hair to work with! I remember going in the hair stores with shelves full of the creamy crack. Now- not so much. Thanks so much for watching 🫶🏾

      @@oh_sheena2312 I'm glad I came across your channel today...I also wish I could've found it sooner being that our hair type and texture are identical. Keep rockin those beautiful locs dear 😊 p.s. I haven't even noticed relaxers that much anymore because to be honest, since being loc'ed, I haven't been checkin for them at all lol

    I started my journey because I'm tired of paying money to put someone else's hair in my head. The price of human hair wigs is ridiculous.

    my godson like that anime. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
    I stayed doing crochet braids and crochet faux locs. I kept spending money to do the same thing, I'm like I'm wasting money and time. Having locs in corporate for me has been more accepting than I thought. I think locs are art so there's so many angles to discuss which makes them pretty trendy.

    • @oh_sheena2312
      @oh_sheena2312  Рік тому +1

      Interesting it is! I too was so surprised at how it wasn’t an issue and now there are so many natural hair women in the building. I tend to view them in art form as well- which why I believe is the appreciation for different types of locs.

    I like how you handled this. To me culture is what you grow up with and that you are shaped by; I don’t think it’s fair for people to not be allowed to practice the culture that they grow up with. This creates a problem because black culture tends to trend on social media and generations of kids worldwide grow up with it and are shaped by it. So it’s like their culture too; I find it heart rending when people get attacked for misappropriation because they all seem so blindsided. Im not sure that it’s not their culture too, it originates with us maybe but it can become everyone’s and tormenting some people is not going to make it better. Plus doors get opened for us to allow us to function more as ourselves when everyone is doing it.
