Love your work, style and videos. I aspire to take amazing photos like yours. Thank you for being honest and thorough with your teaching tutorials. And helping us see things. That’s my weakness, seeing composition and story’s. Hopefully you can do a long in depth tutorial explaining every detail from choosing location to editing a shot. I always wish your videos were longer. Thank you.
Thanks very much for the support and kind words, it keeps me going! It's actually an interesting idea of doing an in depth video from start to finish with just one shot, would have to be a special one but I'll think about it. But as far as choosing a location, I can already tell you, it's basically just guesswork aided by maps and pictures I find online, and then taking long walks, walking around trying to find light.
Nekopunk and cat noir should be genres on their own 😂 and that photographic pun 😂 love your style, I usually take bright photos but I’ve been recently more drawn to this melancholic vibe
I was fortunate enough to visit the Kowloon Walled City when I was a little kid before the gov demolish it. There were full of illegal stuffs so my parents didn’t let me go there alone. I wish I had already taking pictures at that time so I can document it haha. It was really a collective memory for Hong Konger. Nice to see your video, when I was trying to find x100v review video to convince my wife to let me buy it. Great video, love from HK.
😂 I hope your wife was convinced. Greg Girard has an amazing photobook of the walled city, highly recommended. Wish I could have visited but it was demolished before I was even born.
Hi. Great cinematic look. Which strength of pro mist did u use? 1/4? 1/8? Thx. I feel you about the light. In my city, there isn't the traditional neon light that give u that glowing light, mostly big LED panel.
Mist filters are such a blessing. I'm regularly using Moment Cinebloom filters since I got them. 10% can stay on the lenses almost for everything and 20% would be amazing for this type of images. Can't wait to go back to Tokyo, next time with my full frame camera plus these filters. Guess I'm gonna get me some new filter in a bigger size since I recently got myself a Sigma 40mm 1.4 Art for these nighttime shots and the old filters don't fit on that :-D
Yeah! My 25% tiffen is just on the edge of acceptable, definitely wouldn't go stronger, if I'll buy another one I might just go for the 1/8th, subtlety is key for this as well I think.
And if you wanna see how I edit my photos, check out this video : ua-cam.com/video/U9A8CbesY3s/v-deo.html

Promist filters are really fucking awesome 😊
You were saying something about blue white balance?
Basically if you have warm light in a picture, turning the white balance towards blue will add color contrast
"Dubai frame" 😂😂you cheeky bastard
Don’t have a promise filter but my Helios 44-2 gives me halation :-)
Thats a built in Promist!

Pro mist filter and gas stations? Say less! Haha. My pro mist never leaves my camera A7siii, regardless of what' happening.
Haha right. Which strength are you using?
