Wow. Thank you for this impressive masterpiece of a video. Actually I just wanted a few interesting spots for my trip to Cologne tomorrow. Except for the long exposure on the banks of the Rhine, with the Cologne Cathedral in the background, I thought it would be a completely normal excursion. and then UA-cam suggested your video to me. wow again, thank you. I'm going on a completely different trip now. Why capture just a fraction of a moment when I can capture the entire duration of a moment. I will definitely try and test this technique tomorrow and am looking forward to lots of blurry images. A city like Cologne is very suitable for taking steps in this direction. I just hope that a few paranoid people don't beat me to pulp when I point the camera at them. Some people in Germany are very quick to become aggressive when it comes to this and feel that their privacy is being invaded. But that's a different topic. 😅 Thank you again for your tip. Many greetings from Germany, and all the best. Roman
Thank you so much for your comment, Roman!😊🙏🏽 I’m thrilled to hear the video has inspired you for your trip to Cologne. It sounds like you’re going to capture some amazing shots along the Rhine! I understand your concerns about privacy-sometimes it’s best to be discreet and respectful when photographing people. This is why I tend to move like a ninja 🥷 when I’m shooting as well, haha! Enjoy experimenting with motion blur, and I hope you have a fantastic time in the city. Definitely come back and let me know how it goes for you! Many greetings back to Germany, and all the best to you too!🙌🏽

This technique is also known as intentional camera movement (ICM). I was at the market last week doing both color and B&W ICM images. ICM images look like nothing else. It is so fun. I never know exactly how the image will turn out. Sometimes the images are magical. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
@@martingreenberg870 ICM is such a fascinating technique!🙌🏽🔥 I love how it turns the unpredictability into something magical, as you said. Love to see more I’ve been shooting like this accidentally for years lol no I love long exposure it’s just such a vast realm of photography where the rules are really what you can imagine
Right?! Motion blur photography literally opens you up to an INFINITE amount of creative possibilities! It’s one of the most interesting genres of photography for me because you don’t really know what you’re going to get most of the time, which can make it a bit more challenging than still frames, but 10x more rewarding!🙌🏽🔥 What do you think? What draws you in the most to motion blur photography?
A fantastic video. Motion blur makes photos come to life. A crowd starts moving, stars spin as we rotate around with them, a car on a racetrack moves at high speed, not stationary... !
Thank you very much!😊🙏🏽 I couldn’t agree more - motion blur really does bring photos to life by capturing the essence of movement. It’s like freezing time while still conveying the flow of motion, whether it’s people, stars, or high-speed action. Glad you enjoyed the video!🤩🙌🏽
Now that’s what I like to hear man!😎🤝 Definitely come back to let me know what techniques /tips you liked the most, and what challenges you faced, and maybe I’ll be able to those questions in another video!😎👌🏽

Thank you for speaking so slowly and clearly. I have watched a dozen videos now from people rambling as fast as 1/10000 shutter speed and this is complicated as is for me. Learned a lot!

Many greetings back to Germany, and all the best to you too!🙌🏽
Yooo!! You didn’t have to go this hard with the production and of course the tips!
Wow, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!🥲🙏🏽 Comments like these is exactly why I try to improve with every video! I really appreciate it!💜

This was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for opening my mind to a true art of photography. I'm still a newbie and just invested in my first "real" camera/lenses and I can't wait to explore some of these techniques. I couldn't hit that "subscribe" button fast enough.

Brilliant, exactly the kind of "tutorial" I like. Full of information without descending into incredibly confusing technical elements. Thank you so much Rico! ❤
Thank you very much for your comment!😊🙏🏽 I’m really glad the information came across clearly without getting too technical. I always aim to keep things informative and approachable, so it’s great to hear that resonated with you! Appreciate the support!🤩🙌🏽
This video is so well organized and so helpful to this newbie. I can tell you put in a lot of time and work to make this video. Thank you for that and for giving specific camera setting recommendations for each long exposure style. Most UA-camrs gloss over that. You gave me new ideas for styles and enough info to give it a try. Really well done. 👏 P.S. I rarely comment on videos and subscribe, but your video got me doing both. 😊
Thank you SOO MUCH for your thoughtful comment!🥲🙏🏽 It really means a lot to hear that the video was helpful and that the detailed settings made a difference for you. I put a lot of time into making sure everything is as clear and useful as possible, so it’s incredibly rewarding to know it’s resonating with you. Great ideas for making a "normal" scene more interesting, espcially where there are often a mix of moving and still objects in any location. Great tips on the using Joby and the variable ND Filters. Lightpainting is one of my favorite practices
Thank you for your comment!🤩🙌🏽 I’m glad the tips were helpful. Finding ways to bring movement into a still scene really adds that extra layer of creativity. The Joby and ND filters are definitely game changers!🔥

Well done! Great narrative and explanations. Great visuals. I've tried all of these at some point but your suggested settings may help to guide to more success . Motion blur photography is an INSANELY fun genre!🤩🙌🏽 You never really quite know what you’re going to get, which tends to make those perfect motion blur shots even more rewarding when you take them!🔥 Thank you so much for commenting!💜
The mix of color and B&W must have created some really unique images-I totally agree that the unexpected results are part of the fun. Thanks for sharing your experience, and keep enjoying those creative experiments!💜

What an INCREDIBLE production! Bravo🔥👏🎬
THANK YOU so much for your kind words man!🥲🙏🏽 I truly appreciate it!
Great video Rico. Definitely going to get out and use this technique more.
Now that’s what I like to hear man!😎🤝 Definitely come back to let me know what techniques /tips you liked the most, and what challenges you faced, and maybe I’ll be able to those questions in another video!😎👌🏽
