Nice grapple, reminds me of my artillian. These grapples can add so much versatility to a tractor and the best part is it just keeps getting better and better through the years as attachments keep growing for these little tractors.
Thanks. Yeah I like the artillian setup as well, but since I had some forks/frame already I figured Id go with a cheaper route of getting a traditional grapple. And thanks for your instructional video on the install 👍 (and all the other neat accessory videos)
Nice! Glad to see a new video. I bought a B2601 last year for my part time landscaping company. Got alot of work in with it and am thinking about a grapple this year depending on what I can line up for work.
Awesome! These things can do quite a bit of work and Im definitely looking forward to not having to manually load and finagle material around with forks or bucket. The grapple will definitely make life easier.
I remember you mentioned you ordered the Ea grapple a few months ago, you must be excited to get yours in. Mine won’t be in for another 4 weeks. Interesting to see the longer style grapple. I ordered the root rake style. Awesome dump trailer.
Ya, I ordered mine the week before christmas. Was really happy I got it for the beginning of march. Awesome, all the grapple styles look like they work really well. Hope yours comes in asap!
That awesome... I can't tell you how many times i have used the loader and backhoe to get unstuck.. One of these days I will be like you and get me a grapple. lol
good call on the discussion about the gripping force of the clamshell type... a buddy has the BX clam shell kind and it's pinching force is weaker than the FEL's lifting ability.
Another advantage with the backhoe. When your back wheels are getting light, like when you picked up the large rock. Extend your boom out behind you. It might only be a few hundred pounds but when you get it out 8-9 feet, it makes a noticeable difference. Obviously be very careful because the loader is maxed out, probably the front wheels too. But in a pinch..... 😆
Nice man must have for brush. If your ever near the Litchfield area let me know would love to maybe watch you work sometime. Did you get a new plow for your gmc?
Thanks, will do. Im live in Windham, so Im generally working around the area. My father got a new Fisher V Plow and I inherited his older Fisher straight plow from his previous Tundra. Generally only using it to plow my drive and/or friends/neighbors. Might expand into that service as time goes on, but I work full time outside of this type of work.
Nice attachment add to your arsenal. I think I got the first landpride grapple in New England for my BX when it first came out years ago. Put the 3rd function valve in myself so I know what you’re talking about on those tight spaces. Next to the BH it’s still my favorite attachment. Maybe I missed it but does that 14k dump trailer require a CDL?
Nice! Agreed, the backhoe is my number one attachment and im sure the grapple will be equal to it. Only need a CDL if the GVWR of the truck + trailer exceeds 26k lbs. So for me, i have a 10k truck and 14k trailer, so Im just under at 24k lbs.
www.amazon.com/dp/B08H7XWC6L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_VK7WF1NBEJMNV45VKM9H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Seems to work well, just put it on a few days ago and its back to full charge.
Instead of swapping relays to change the control of the buttons could you not have just switched hoses to accomplish the same thing. I see in your case that you have a male and female on your tractor and grapple. I ordered mine with two male couplers on the grapple and I have two female couplers on the tractor. I mark which hoses OPENS the grapple with a ziptie, and same on the grapple. The reason being that it is EASIER for me to PUSH the male connectors on the loose hoses of the grapple into the female couplers which are solidly mounted on the tractor. I am guessing that in your case, switching the relays was easier than changing coupler ends.
Its 274 lbs with the slats (254 without), the clam shell variant is about ~200 lbs. Ultimately I do loose some lifting force, but it shouldn't be all that much.

@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC sure thing buddy, glad to help. Excited to get to spring so we can put things things to good use!
I like a man who knows how to treat his tractor
Once you get more familiar I’m sure it will be a major go to for most of your work! Great purchase and best of luck
For sure, just have to adapt to its adjustable size/length when approaching objects.
LOLZ your choice of music by getting up by using the backhoe part had me cracking up :)
Glad seeing you back Brian, hope everything is well.
Everything is good, just antsy to get back to doing work and same to you!

grreat video. I love my ea dual lid wicked root grapple
Really nice the sound of the grapple closing, don't want to put your hand in there lol
Yeah, and the teeth are sharp too. I know from experience!

Yeah, having that backhoe is so useful. Id be lost without it.
My neighbor and I have spent much of the spring pulling tractors out of the mud. 🤣

Oh yes, I love the backhoe as a dynamic counter weight. Always use it on hills, steep grades and odd loads!

Nice trailer. Can you tailgate the doors for dispersing gravel?
Yes, you can tailgate with this trailer. Done it a few times.

@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC It's nice you have the skid steer quick attach set up so you can use the grapple on a new, bigger machine it you upgrade.
Where did you get the stick with the buttons on it?
The handle with the buttons comes with the Summit 3rd function valve kit for the BX series tractors.
Do you use a 12’ dump trailer to haul your machine with?
I have a 7'x14' dump trailer that my machines fit in, but more regularly use a 17' flat deck trailer.
EA shipped this to maine for you?
I am in Southern NH, but I presume they would also ship to Maine.
What kind of solar battery charger is that on the dump trailer? I've been looking for one for mine!

You need to ditch those turf tires & go industrial tires !

You guessed it!
That grapple is too much weight for your tractor. It compromises how much weight you can grapple.

Hey Sean, You think they make 50lb grapples ?
New toy day is the best! Thanks for posting! Check out my channel sometime! I would really appreciate it!
