Howdy John I live in Macon mo and drive otr for a living watch u tube on my phone always enjoy your videos keep them coming God bless you and your family stay safe
Hey John another great video been watching for quite a while mostly on my phone but sometimes on a laptop from northern Michigan by Traverse city. Keep up the good work
I don't have the Artillian setup. Guess I should have since its modular, and I think more suited to the BX size tractors. I'd like to get a grapple but everything out there weighs way too much for a BX...and Artillian's setup you can have different grapple attachment options. Only issue in my case, I don't have a 3rd function so doing anything like that is out of the question with my BX2680. Should have had the 3rd function added, and rear remotes added...too late now...too expensive to have them added after the fact...and I don't have the patience and luck to install stuff like that myself. I've had my BX2680 for a little over a year now and have 54 hours on it, did the 50 hour service a while back, not too bad till I removed the transmission filter screen without thinking about all the hydraulic fluid still in the transaxle....ooops, I had fluid everywhere as I wasn't expecting the fluid to shoot out across the back side of the tractor LOL. I haven't done the front axle service yet, I really need to get that done, but that is another 3-4 quarts of fluid to change...Gotta get it done before winter, hopefully I can knock it out here in the next couple weeks.
Hey John. I was impressed with the trenching bucket too. I like watching your channel on my lap top. I am from South Carolina. I think our clay like soil here would probably give that bucket a run for its money but I am thinking there would be many jobs it could do pretty well. I enjoy your channel and keep on tractoring.
Heck of a lot cheaper than that backhoe BX, and a lot fast digging...although you can dig deeper with a backhoe, the speed at which you can dig a trench with the trenching bucket is a better solution...or just buy an excavator, everyone is buying excavators and skid steers now...so I think we all just need to go buy one of each HAHA!!! Just ignore the $50k+ price tags LOL.
The implement dug easily…Probably a little more difficult in clay soil. It would make a great implement to dig a larger trench to accommodate electrical, outside wood-burner lines and the like when you didn’t have a backhoe and frost line wasn’t an issue. Watching in my phone in Myrtle Beach while on vacation..,
I have clay and hardpan, one of those buckets would be 100% useless to me. Anything deeper than about 8" to a foot and I'm using a shovel, pick axe, and wrecking bars to break up the hard pan.
I watch on my PC. Not sure how people watch videos on a phone with that tiny screen. The Artillian system would be nice, but without 3rd function capability all that stuff is useless except the pallet forks and trenching bucket....what I really have come to realize is the grapple option would have been nice, but now after its all said and done, its too expensive and very inconvenient to try and have the 3rd function installed. My dealer talked me out of the 3rd function and rear remotes, both of which I'm finding out now that would be extremely useful. With rear remotes I could have added a hydraulic top link, 3rd function remotes would be great for the grapple. So...a great note to people thinking of buying a BX or even a B series tractor, get the 3rd function and rear remotes when you initially buy the tractor, during the setup time on the tractor is the time to have all that stuff installed, its easier when the tractor is still in pieces and parts at the dealership...once its together and been out in the field its more of a pain as they sometimes have to tear things apart to add that stuff. DO NOT let your dealer talk you out of these things...whether you use that feature now or not, you'll thank yourself later if its on your tractor from the beginning....not to mention later on if you sell your tractor those little hydraulic ports most likely will be something a buyer would pay more for your machine to get as opposed to another machine without those. Its been a bit over a year now with my BX2680. Am I glad I bought it, yes, its saved me a lot of time this past year with projects around the property, and helping out a couple people in town with some heavy mowing tasks. I've only managed to roll up 54 hours on it. Does everything I need it to do, and definitely a huge time saver. I only have an acre, but all the stuff you can do with one of these machines is just limited by your imagination and the things you wanna do. I use my pallet forks a lot. I started putting stuff on pallets for storing on shelves and stacking as soon as I had my forks. The loader is just there, its not really much of a tractor, that loader makes 100x the difference in this tractor....without it I really wouldn't have much need for a tractor LOL. I don't have a cab, it would have been nice but way out of my budget, and I don't have a snow blower, so the cab isn't all that important. I have a blower for my lawn tractor....now talk about needing a cab, you end up covered in snow by the time you are done using that thing LOL. I bought a sub-compact tractor because of space limitations, and I'm glad I did. I've found I can do stuff for people when other's can't because my tractor is small enough to fit in places that those big fancy tractors can't get into, or can get into just can't maneuver around in. My aunt and uncle's back yard was a great example...yeah I could have used a shovel and rake to move and level the gravel out back there, but would have been a day's worth of work most likely....from the tractor seat you get a nice viewing angle of what needs done, on the ground with a shovel and rake not so much. Made very quick work out of that gravel job. Mowed a couple of back yards for friends that would have taken them a day or more to do with a regular lawn mower. Only about 1/2 acre at each place, but 3-4 foot tall grass and weeds would have been quite the chore with a regular lawn mower.
There is so much you can do with a compact tractor and you're right. You're only limited by your imagination. Also you make a good point that it's nice to have a small tractor just because you're able to help others around their property that a larger tractor couldn't attempt. I can't believe the things I've been able to do with mine and it's so maneuverable. I'm really glad you're enjoying you machine. It should last you a long long time! Never too late to install the extra hydraulic functions. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Keep on tractoring! God Bless
Farmville, Virginia here! We watch UA-cam on our phone & then link it to the TV so the whole family can enjoy! Keep up the good work Mr. Ritter! Stay Safe & God Bless! 😁
Nice attachment! I’m from NOLA area, usually watch most videos on my phone since it’s always with me. Other times on my iPad. Thanks Jon for another great video. Stay safe other there.
Probably 😂 I do have them off the ground at least. I’ll have to cut into them sometime. I don’t really have any plans for them, they were just huge. Keep on tractoring!
H, John. I'm a brand new subscriber from NC, and my new TYM tractor is being delivered in 2 days, even though I was delivered 70 years ago! 🙂 I have a lot to learn, but I'm curious about your setup: Why do you have hydraulic lines to your pallet fork frame? Thanks, Rick. I watch YT on my MacBook. Correction - I LIVE on UA-cam whenever I'm learning something new.
Welcome to the tractor world even if it did take you 70 years to get here. TYM makes a very nice machine. The reason I have hydraulic lines on my fork frame is because the Artillian fork frame offers a grapple attachment to the frame as well as an angle plow. It’s a very versatile set up especially for someone without much storage room. Thanks for subscribing! Keep on tractoring!
Good morning Jon.. I like the idea of the modular system.. I wonder if it just fits on there fork mont ? If it did I would be very interested.. I have watched Gord’s video he did on a few stumps at Guy’s shooting range.. they were a lot bigger then the one you did.. Took a lot but it worked. I usually watch on my phone. That way I can comment.. And I am from the Granite State ( NH) Live Free or Die.. As always stay safe and always be kind my friend. Cheers ( Go 603 ) 😁🇺🇸
I think a standard fork frame is different from of course. Proprietary attachments aren’t just a JD thing. I’m going to keep talking to the engineers to try and get them to change this concept a little. Keep on tractoring!
Jon yes the pallet fork on my 1025R are JD forks But the set I have for my B2650 are Bradco by Paladin forks.. They are made in Dexer MI.. Funny thing I just measured bot and they have the same spacing 16 inches and the notches are the same.. Hmmm For giggles I will try my forks on both and see.. Check yours if you think of it… I am wondering if that frame is standard.. I know how they attach to the tractor is different.. But maybe the rest is a standard in the industry.? I have no clue..
I’ve done that before but usually when I trailer the tractor up north I just leave the doors on. I’ve found that opening the door window just a little allows for comfortable air flow because of the reverse air flow of the the engine fan. Also the door help keep the bugs off and branches from smacking me in the face. Keep on tractoring!
Ok Jon I just calculated the travel time to Grand Rapids from up here at the Cay. 5.5 hours. Might have to check out the trenching bucket in person! Nice work.
The Kubota looked like it dug the earth pretty easily with the trenching bucket without strain or too much articulation. Great video BTW! Watching on the computer today from Massachusetts.
The implement dug easily…Probably a little more difficult in clay soil. It would make a great implement to dig a larger trench to accommodate electrical, outside wood-burner lines and the like when you didn’t have a backhoe and frost line wasn’t an issue. Well done John!!
Two episodes Siberian elms in clay and digging a trench or footing. Seen on a cell phone. How much weight is in the rear? Clay will require more maybe lots more.

Great video. I just received my Titan stump bucket for my Bx2380 (new, just done 50hrs maintenance) and can't wait to try it out here in N.Florida
I hope it works out well for you! Enjoy that machine. 👍
