Stumping with an E50 & SteelWrist Tilt Rotator

First big stumping job with the E50 and SteelWrist tilt rotator. It worked out really well and the rotation allowed for easy breaking of the roots. Definitely have to watch out for stray roots going into the rotator though! Demolishing a Deck with a Mini Excavator
Переглядів 4,1 тис.5 місяців тому
Here is some footage from 2022 of me demolishing my back deck due to constant wasp infestations (as well as other animals). The deck was old, splintering and constantly harboring wasps every year. It was also too small to properly setup with a table, chairs and grill. So the plan was (is) to convert the space to a patio, but I have yet to get the time so I figured I'd at least put out the demo ...

Awesome transformation of your backyard. The patio looks fantastic, and I love the landscaping touches. It's always heartwarming to hear about new additions to the family, especially Charlie the puppy. The challenges you faced during the installation process highlight the importance of planning and patience. Thanks for sharing.

It's impressive to see how the patio was successfully installed in such a confined space. The use of a skid steer with wheels is a great way to minimize damage to the surrounding area. Thanks for sharing.

The driveway and everything looks great and yeah, the dump truck guy could’ve spread the gravel for you a little bit however, a solution may be to stop the silt from going into that pond is maybe put some rocks out by the road and maybe that’ll stop the silt stay out there and from going down into the pond and then into the culvert. Just an idea Also could you put a French drain from the yard by the barn into the trench you made?

It amazes me when I see guys with tilt rotators but not a stack of mats or plywood or even rubber mats(cheaper but effective alternative). I know the track mats are expensive but not nearly as much as the tilt rotator lol. No hate I see you have a few mats but it’s just one of those “come on man” things I see with contractors.

I wish grading with the front bucket like this was just as easy with a tractor as it is with a skid steer. I feel like every time i try and push material forward with my tractor bucket I end up just digging down into the ground. You make it look so easy!

The funny thing is that once you can have one, you don't want to give it up! Use it like a standard tilt bucket, but slowly, you change how you complete your operation. Makes good operator awesome!

Depending on the terrain that drains towards the road, you may have been able to modify it to reduce the amount of water coming toward the road. The volume of water was the basic problem and I don't know if you ever even discussed a remedy. At some point you may have been able to divert some water from the ditch out toward the woods. I say again, the volume of water was the basic problem. You did do a small amount of work away from the road but that isn't going to do much, if you didn't change the direction of the drainage. If a crossover tube were used, both ditches could have been protected with one drain-away.
