So delighted to find a new video from you! I would never guess that melt & pour could be swirled like this proving yet again that you are the Master of melt and pour soaping 👌❤️👏👏
Omg wow it’s so so beautiful just perfect, you are just incredible, I haven’t done anything close to that , well Mr.Perfection another fabulous creation, god bless you stay safe and well.
You continually amaze me with the M&P soap. It practically sits up and begs at your command. Personally, I would have cut the amount of red by 50 grams and the black by 50-100 grams (because it’s such a strong color) to have more of the white, but I really like how this turned out.
This is so cool. I wonder if the base I'm using is cheap or not a good base. You did all of that without reheating the soap. My base never last that long. I have to reheat often. What am I doing wrong?
I had to reheat one. Just 10 seconds. I put all 3 containers in the microwave. Also this is suspending base, its different to that of normal clear or white soap. Its a lot thicker.
looks fab. I've heard of swirling soap base white and clear from soapy twist, specially designed for this, not sure what difference there is with supsending base.
Hi Dean.. I'm a new subscriber and a beginner in soap making...I really loved ur videos. I'm quite confused about the temperatures to be maintained and the amount of additives to be used in each base and also about the types of base. It would be much helpful for beginners like me if u could do an introduction video on melt and pour soaps...
Hi, I wish I could but I have closed my soap business about 5 months ago. I would not be making any further soap videos. However I could suggest a course from udemy.com with melt and pour. From what I have read, they are very good with different bases etc.
@@DeanWilson thanks for replying...I had done a course on melt and pour but here in India they don't teach about designers soaps and about the different types of soap bases..
Hi Dean, thank you for your very informative videos, it is appreciated! I was wondering in regards to melt and pour is there a curing time needed after making the soap? Thank you in advance for your reply.
That came out really beautiful. I cannot cut my soap correctly. Your cutting skills is superb. How do you know it’s even and the same size when cutting?
Dean Wilson ok I’ll give that a try. I also tried a pot swirl with MP soap and it came out nice. I only did two colors. Next time I’ll try three just as you did. Thanks Dean your very informative
I wonder if you can try a one pot wonder with melt and pour it’s usually for cold process. I wold like to see that. It would be interesting to see the results!
Dean Wilson 😑well I tried it this morning...the charcoal got too cold and clumped up...I was scared that it was going to overtake the other colors....I know the error of my ways...practice makes progress💪🏼
Dear Dean, I watch your videos but its now I am looking for specifics as I am inspired with your humble tutorials and also the art and craft work attached to it. Covid is giving tough time as it has reduced the external mobility, so thought of keeping mind engaged in some activity to avoid gloomy mind and unexplained uncertainity. If you would like to share your experience, I wish to to know few tips. 1) Do you use essential oils other than fragrance oils? If so, quantity (per 1000 gm M&P) and process of adding in melt and pour. 2) Things to avoid while making M&P soap ( For eg: Whether excess usage of dye or rubbing alcohol does damage to skin or not?) 3) Will the fragrance wane away in a period of time? 4) If we use two different bases ( say 500 gm extra clear and 500 gm goat milk) together to make a soap, should we add fragrance oil in one base or it should be added to both the bases in equal measure? 5) What we should do for a stronger bond between extra clear and goat milk when we make a layered soap ?.......because my soap is getting seperated at where one layer was poured on another layer even after rubbing alcohol was used immediately after first layer and before pouring the second layer.
Thanks for your questions. 1. I have only ever used fragrance oils. For them they are too expensive and fragrance oils are designed to work with soaps and are 100% skin safe. But buy from a good supplier thats trusted. 2. Rubbing alcohol and dye is skin safe but check with the dye supplier to what level, some are high and some are low. Every supplier will be different. 3. I noticed a small drop in scent over a period of 1 year. But apart from that it stays nice and strong at 2% fragrance oils. 4. Add equal amounts, so if your using 2% (which is 20 grams fragrance) then you would add 10 grams fragrance to each 500 gram block of melted soap base. 5. I found when the base gets cold it doesn't hold as well, so pour the next layer when the previous base is still warm but had a skin. Hope they help :)
I know your not doing melt and pour videos anymore but I have a question. I making lady bugs soaps. What do you think about using edible ink for the dots. It’s edible so not toxic. It’s hard to make soap dots uniform with pipette before things harden. Thanks!
awesome blend!! I've been messing up my M&P by testing out natural coloring - the colors don't always look as good as mica but I want an all natural soap. charcoal always looks good.. it's the green/yellow that turn out bad lol do you add any other oils to your blend? I mix in a little extra almond oil and vitamin E
How long does a full loaf of Melt and pour soap take to fully set up. This looks really good the colours work really well in this soap great job of the In the pot swirl. Maybe you could try a wall pour with M&P.
Yes, but you need to pour slowly and at low temp so the base your pouring does not merge with the other colors. From my experience, there is about a 30 second window to get it all into the mold at the right temp.
Which alcohol do you use to spray? Why use the alcohol?how many soap bars does 1kg of soap base produce ? Why do you check the temperature? Thank you in advance for replying ..
Rubbing alcohol is what you need, you can get it in all chemists. Rubbing alcohol makes the layers stick together (bond like glue) and also pops all the bubbles on the surface. For my 1kg, i get 9 bars. 100-110 grams each, plus some end bits as samples. The temperature is checked so so the soap is not too hot, if it is it will merge with the previous layer.
Start small, buy only what you need. Dont go buy every mica color. Ive talked to so many people that purchased 1000s of dollars worth of supplies then realised they dont like making soaps. Start basic and expand as you learn. Same with fragrances and molds. I knew a lady who had 100s of molds, i asked if she used them all, she said no. Only 3-5 of them. So be picky and not going for gimmick molds. Start with basics, dont just jump into swirling. Start with 1 color, then 2 colors then maybe a layer soap.

good luck. your do fine.
Those actually looks really cool. And I like how the bottom middle one looks like an "R".
So interesting to watch. I was on the edge of my seat with that one. I’d love to try that.
It looks like marble, quite beautiful! The wire cutter created such a smooth surface. Niice...
Yes, but I fear if I used it too much the wire would break. Its really not suited for melt and pour cutting.
@@DeanWilson No worries there! I know better than to use wire because I'd probably accidentally cut myself. One has to know oneself! 🙃
Great job as usual. Might you consider turning the mold 180 degrees halfway thru the pour.
That turned out fantastic! I only make cold process but now you got me wanting to experiment with melt and pour!
That is so pretty. I love in the pot swirls but never thought about trying with melt and pour. Thanks for the video.
That was insane. Nail biting. Beautiful! Time saving!!
Turned out great, might want to try different shades pink or purple as you want to use your fragrance. I really enjoy your videos, thank you
I battled with the lighting in your studio today. But very cool.
This color combo is my fav!!
The close up looks like a beautiful storm
Love the swirl and colors.
Swirls came out really nice. Like the color combination. Congrats!

I think if you make white & pink equal amounts & the activated charcoal lesser amount, it would make a different look.
Yes, I agree. It was too much of each color, it should have been mostly white with a splash of colors.
Beautiful!

Not a big fan of making melt and pour, but your soap is beautiful!
I gasped when your cutter pinged.😅.
Yes, I felt if I kept using the wire cutter it was going to break.
I like it, very cool.
Great video. Thanks 🙏🏾
Neat! The colors remind me of Cruella DeVill 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤
Royalty Soaps dos this method as well. But she adds the big tops. Not really an Aussie thing.
I think Katie works more with Cold Process. This video was M&P base.
It's cool that you're using cp techniques to try in m&p! I look forward to seeing more from ya. Hugz, Tree

Absolutely amazing Dean. Great job!.. I actually find that the Stephenson soap base does harden quite quick. Not sure if it's just me though :)
Yes, there is a small window between fluid and solid. Its all about timing :)
Making this for our 4th of July sales! So excited! Thank you!

Pretty cool !

So it is possible 👀 looks great!!! I’m gonna try this today👍🏼
My best tip could be pour slow and on an angel down the side of the mold so no bubbles or splashes.
Dean Wilson will do, I have a smaller square “test” mold, I was going to do it from the corner and see how that worked out, thank you 🙏🏼

You could half the amount of black soap.
