Wow! I’ve done some successful prints, but not tried any photographs. A funny thing-my Mom and I were artists together. When I saw a gelli plate, I decided we needed one. We played for hours on end making prints. Seriously, one weekend I have more than a hundred. It seemed like there was a new idea or technique every week! When I saw the first image, I was like I’ve gotta try this. So I got set up at home and printed several. I called my Mom and said I was coming over to show her how to do it. When I got there, I tried it and couldn’t get one at all. Same paper, paint, same magazine! I have no idea why it wouldn’t work! We finally got it to work, but not that day. Can’t wait to try it with my own images.
Yes, it’s funny isn’t it! Perhaps the humidity or the temperature at your mom’s house was different. It’s good that you already had some success before hand so at least you knew you were doing nothing wrong!
