    Thank you for posting the video. I bought a gelli plate recently, & had my first try at printing using bubble wrap yesterday, so this film gives me lots more ideas. Never realised I could print using magazine pages. Loving the silkscreen look that this technique can give.

    Wow, I'm impressed. How creative. I want to try this with a copy of a photo for a Christmas card to the family of the photo. Maybe that might work.❤

      Thank you, I think it’s unlikely that the Christmas card would work. It’s the high contrast areas with toner ink thats used in glossy magazines or photocopy laser prints that works best for this technique.

      You can’t use photos on the gel plate, you can print your own images onto copy paper with a laser printer though. 😊

      Thank you 😊, I’m glad you found this helpful. You can use colours to do the transfers. Make sure the paint is not transparent as they don’t work so well for this technique. Have a look at Marsha Valk Gelli Arts on here or Instagram, she uses bright colours a lot in her transfers 😀

    love your videos, so fun to watch, so calming. i’ve tried a bit of it in the past but unfortunately with not much success. how do I know which magazine works and which one don’t?

    Awesome video, thank you! Haven't touched my gelli plate in a minute and this refreshed my memory. The use of magazine prints is completely new to me. So cool! I think I saw you use acrylic paint. I've been using that as well, adding slow drying medium but I can"t seem to get the same payoff for the second - let alone the third print. Any tips? Thanks!

      Thanks so much! If I get a 3rd print the paint is generally quite thickly applied. The paint I use is medium bodied which helps too.

    I love your choice of materials & colors ....very elegant & tasteful. Just got my Gelli plate & need to know if either side works . Whats the best liquid to use for cleaning & where did you buy those large Brayers ?

    Oh, at the 5:30 mark when the paper was stuck, I would have used a background color to try and lift the paper that was stuck plus the remaining ghost image, if it worked it would have been super interesting! Thanks for sharing these techniques!

    Love this! What is the material you have over the plate? When you peel off the paper, I see that you have something over the plate.

      Hmm 🤔 I’m not sure what you mean, if I’m placing paper onto the plate, it might be on top of hessian or printers scrim to push it into the paint 🤔

      Hi Heidi, the last series of paintings I made that you probably saw on IG ( there’s a short on here too) Many of them started off as a print adhered to wooden cradleboard then I paint on top, collage more or add pen details.

    Lovely prints in a limited cilia palette. You might try cutting stencils from Yupo or Tyvek. (Mailing envelopes)

    This is wonderful! Will any paper do? Doing my first ones and after the first printing, the acrylic paint wears off almost completely.

      I like to use thinner papers like photocopy paper, just experiment with the amount of paint you are using and maybe try a different brand of paint, liquitex basics are reliable 😀
