Hi Lucy, I love transferring my own drawings and rubbings with the gelli plate and am just getting into pulling multiple layers. Your use of metallic paint has inspired my next experiments, cheers for sharing!!
Oh Lucy, I just discovered your awesome channel! I’ve only been experimenting w gelli plates for a few months. It seemed confusing, but you have made more sense then anyone else! Thanks so much! Cant wait to try transfers 😊
I love these creations. My friend just gifted me some gellie plates and some supplies. I can’t wait to try them. Thank you for this beautiful video. ❤❤❤❤
I've been using my Geli plate for leaf, flower, text and stencil printing. I've never come across this method. It's amazing and the final results are spectacular. Repurposing a magazine image to produce a print is a fun way of using images. I'm going to have a go at doing this with some animal images I have. Thank you for the lesson.
Thank you so much. You explain so well. I am new in gel press and I have followed a lot of tutorials and you are the first to be so clear and you are talented
Thank you so much for these videos. You mention letting the paint dry before adding another layer. How long do you let it dry between layer applications?
So inspirational I love what you did with the flowers. And you’re right that layer of paint Hass to be found before you pull your print. Thanks so much for the great ideas. And by the way they all came out beautiful.
Absolument MAGNIFIQUE!!!! Merci infiniment pour cette technique que je vais m’empresser d’essayer, en espérant arriver cette fois à faire le transfert d’image. Ce que vous faites est très beau, y compris vos fleurs. Continuez 🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙆🏽♀️🙋🏻♀️ !!!!
Love them ❤❤. Can you do this on fabric using fabric paints? I love graphic t-shirts, but the designs I like a hard to find. These 3 prints would all look awesome on a t-shirt 😄
Beautiful. I do wonder about the copyright if you’ve taken a picture from a magazine that was already printed by someone else who took the picture how would that work.
@@221b-Maker-Street thanks for that info. I’m UK based, and from a brief search I think our copyright law is different. I’m guessing you are US based as you didn’t say where you are from, and the terms you cited bring up US copyright law. Shame as this looks like an interesting technique to use in journal creation.
Hi, Brenda…I’m not in the UK, but I have checked into copyright issues a bit, and I think I can answer generally. I believe that you can basically do what you want with magazine images and other similar things in a small way. For example, it’s not an issue for you to cut out an image from the magazine, frame it, and put it on your wall. Similarly, you could use tracing paper and recreate the image to use in your home, give as a gift, etc. I would expect gelli printing would be the same thing... single use. Where you get into a trickier situation is scanning or photocopying, both of which can be used to mass-produce the image. I would be careful and do your research before doing that. I hope that was helpful.
Hi Lucy, I'm new to your channel. These transfers and your added touch of paintings are beautiful and so unique! I really enjoyed watching your process and look forward to trying this. Thank you!
Hi Lucy ,this is Linda from Corpus Christ Texas and I was just wondering if you can use the same magazine page more than once ,from what I can see,you can't ,but I would just like to know because I have some things I would like to use twice , I'm just waiting on my gelli plates , I'm loving what I'm seeing ,can't wait to start ..
Your images are amazing! I am not having much luck with my transfers I am using Liquitex basic acrylic fluid paint. The paints tend to bead up and disappear from the surface. I conditioned my 8 x 10 with some baby oil. Still doesn't work. I tried my 8 x 8 and it is a little better. I cannot seem to get a nice even coat like you do. Are you using a Gelli brand plate? Thanks
Thank you so much I just got mine today I have the 12×14 gelli plate with roller... I'm new to this I wasn't aware about the water color paper or the fact I needed high quality prints any personal recommendation I am determined to have beautiful prints as you do
Love the video. I have tried for hours to get a magazine image to work. What happens a lot is the paint goes onto the magazine image and no image on plate. So frustrating. I am doing everything in the video. What is happening?
Wow this was the best video I’ve seen on how to do transfers 👍🏼👍🏼
You are absolutely correct. She is the bomb with the gelli plate. Taught me a lot!
Time to PLAY!!! 😊

Amazing technique! Beautiful job! I love the addition of the flowers
I’m so glad the flowers screamed at you, but happier still that you listened. ❤🦋❤️
What a great video on demonstrating layers in your image transfer, so inspirational
I’m just learning about gels printing and I love this!
This is inspired! Painting on top of the paint just makes it a finished work of art 🎨
These are incredible. I can’t wait to try these techniques!

I am not creating them for sale.
@@lucysartstudio Yes, and in any case even if you _were,_ it counts as 'Transformative Use' under copyright law, I believe.
