- A featurette of how the minds of Hans Zimmer, Christopher Nolan, and Johnny Marr collaborated to create the soundtrack to the 2010 film Inception.

(Sorry about the sub-par video quality and humming noise in the background, there wasn't really much I could do about that.)
Johnny Marr was a part of it! No wonder I love the music so much.
Johnny Marr my idol as a youth he can play
"Bit of a legend"- a bit of an understatement
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the new movies on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf these days :)
@Khari Ezekiel definitely, have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself :)
Johnny Fucking Marr the legend himself.
Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr. holy shit, am I dreaming?
Good question, are you?
My God the power of that brass section is awesome
"The momentum of the film is defined by the structure of the music".
So true, and not just for Inception.
Zimmer+Nolan=EPIC!!!!
Marr Nolan and Zimmer. The most talented 3some ever
from 3:20 on is probably the best musical idea in the whole movie, just so freaking amazing. Hans is the best
The social network had an excellent soundtrack, and completely deserved the win. That said, I would definitely not have been disappointed had inception won either. It's really changed the way people use music in films - just look how many trailers have been imitating the big bwaaah chord recently.
6 bass trombones, nice
to make sure it hits you as hard as possible.
Crazy Pug cool i used to play tenor tromone
I HATE the fact that this is only 4 bloody minutes long! I WANT MORE!!!!! lol
There's a video of it on youtube called "Are You Offering Me a Choice: Inception Unreleased Movie Soundtrack"
In the film it is played in a wide shot of the helicopter that Arthur, Cobb and Saito are flying in before Saito's first mention of inception.
I love Inceptions soundtrack but Social Networks was also epic.
I really enjoy the Social Network and don't begrudge Reznor and Ross winning, but I would consider Zimmers score here the most timeless (pun unintended) of any major blockbuster in the last 20 years. Time and Dream Collapsing are instantly recognisable for almost anyone, unlike songs in TSN. Also, even as a massive electronic fan, I just don't see the work of Reznor and Ross as groundbreaking as what Zimmer was doing with orchestras and Johnny Marr.
Dream Within A Dream
@JordanWarnerFilms "Hotel and Helicopter" (according to ASCAP). It was never released officially, though, and the complete score has yet to leak, so it's basically impossible to find. There are a few DVD rips under different names that are pretty good, though.
Hans Zimmer is a beast
Maravilhoso
Social Network was an interesting score, very contemporary and experimental and different, but it was not the best film score of 2010 by any stretch of the imagination. Inception may not have been quite there, either, but I agree with you, both were very revolutionary.
Easily one of his best scores
Why hasn't Leonardo got his Oscar yet. Damn Hollywood
guess what.
I honestly can't remember any instances where it's isolated from any other motifs or themes like in inception, where it's just the one chord on its own. But I may be wrong on that.
2:10-2:37 I really like the guitar, is there a track like that?
VenomEXsoldier a little late to the party, but the song is called “One Simple Idea” from the inception OST
It is called "Never Coming Back - Elephants".
@TheDjnaymlis social network's score may be not the loudest and epic'st score ever. But its more intense and if u listen to it you will get many different feeelings wich are all intentend,so it makes you feel the scene you're watching, and the musicstyle fits just perfectly in the the social network. But, DAMN! the inception soundtrack is still f*cking amazing in every way!!
Does anybody know the tune being played from 1:45 to 2:09
I thought he just fell asleep on top of his organ after hearing it.
@Nongamblerpokerfan "6 tenor trombones", I think
can anyone tell which software is being used @ 1:35 ??
Does anyone know what song it is during 0:57-1:03?
What was the best score of 2010 then in your opinion
hans zimmer's voice...he smoked a lot
Whats the music from 0:42 to 0:48?? Can anyone tell me????
3:39 Me the entire film.
2:10 what is the name of this tune, I'm dying to know it's name
At 1:48, he says 6 bass trombones and 6 ? trombones?
what does he say?
whats the song name at 3:04?
Time, but it's just the horns and strings. The soundtrack version has some percussion as well.
the brass playing live sounds so amazing. so sad, that he manipulates the recordings so much so that they sound so awkwardly artificial.
guitar tune at 2:30 please?
I am still searching for it
@TheDjnaymlis The Social Network's victory in general was what made me lose all faith in the original score category.
@vdwebb99 Yep, tenor trombones.
Time
Hans zimmer is the best musician of all time!!
zimmer's got the bug. music evolves like everything else should hope too. johnny's great as per.. easy money lol..
Thumbs up if you disagree with The Social Network's Soundtrack winning over Inception's.

Zimmer is fab but second best to John Williams. No one can top John Williams. Danny elfman is also amazing.
Does anyone know what song it is during 0:58-1:03?
