There are so many composers that copy his style, that most mainstream movies are filled with meaningless pompus and "epic" music. His voice is almost as much of a masterpiece as his music. His accent is very nearly equal parts German and Southern English, and so fascinating to listen to.

With all due respect for Alexandre Desplat and his music for Grand Budapest Hotel the oscar should have definitely gone to Hans Zimmer for Interstellar. The sound is one of the most memorable, emotional, unique, epic and best fitting sounds for a movie that exists.
My favorite score he ever created was for Interstellar, it played such a big role in this movie. The way he let his music tell the story, with time ticking by, emotions flowing in the tunes and the swelling whenever there’s a huge reveal, I absolutely love that. And the combination of instruments he used is just so creative and amazing. I think the score for that movie is so underrated and should definitely get more recognition, because they made that movie what it is and the soundtrack is one of the biggest reasons I get back to Interstellar every time I open Netflix. The story was a masterpiece and it’s value was doubled by the beautiful score.

When I first heard Time by Hans Zimmer I would borrow my dads tablet and put 10hour version of the song on and slept to it for years as a child. Im 23 now and out of the military, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat when I go to bed now that Ive been in college. It's still a travesty that Hans didn't win best score for Interstellar. That score was 50% of the movie. Without Zimmer I don't know if it even conveys the message properly or the same way.

I think the award is meant to honor the score that best served the film and I think that HZ's music is very selfish and it's like he's telling the story his own way. The same thing with the music score he makes for games. Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 made the game so much more intense and you got the feel of being in a role af a great story!
Joe Urban Spielberg is a child at heart and he puts too many children in his movies but his visual story telling is amazing. Combined with John Williams’s music and it’s the very best of movie experience.

He holds so much love for music that he will do anything to convey every human emotion through it. The fact he remembers so deeply about the scores he composed moved me to tears.
Him writing the piece for Lion King so "dad can show off" to his daughter is surprisingly the sweetest dad thing ever. Edit: Simba loses his dad, Hans loses his dad. Now we all understand why Mufasa's death scene was so profound and moving. The piece directly reflects Hans' pure emotions. Man, am I glad I clicked on the video.

I couldn't agree more. The music is so moving and beautiful. I cry everytime I watch and listen to Deliver Us. But really, all the songs and the entire soundtrack is brilliant.
Phillip Glass definitely inspired the main organ theme with Koyaanisqatsi however there is much more to the entire Interstellar suite. Theres soaring angelic violin sections and quiet piano riffs. All of the main melodies are so iconic too, like they're classics that have existed for decades. Its his most complete and fully realised score imo.

I think the score for that movie is so underrated and should definitely get more recognition, because they made that movie what it is and the soundtrack is one of the biggest reasons I get back to Interstellar every time I open Netflix. The story was a masterpiece and it’s value was doubled by the beautiful score.

100%. I remember being absolutely amazed by Cornfield Chase in the cinema. I never really pay attention to music in a film but I was just blown away. It was magical.

When I first heard Time by Hans Zimmer I would borrow my dads tablet and put 10hour version of the song on and slept to it for years as a child. Im 23 now and out of the military, and I’ve been listening to it on repeat when I go to bed now that Ive been in college. More and more this songs grows to fulfill the ultimatums of movement for change in my life.

It's still a travesty that Hans didn't win best score for Interstellar. That score was 50% of the movie. Without Zimmer I don't know if it even conveys the message properly or the same way.

I think the award is meant to honor the score that best served the film and I think that HZ's music is very selfish and it's like he's telling the story his own way. Personally I think the movie and music are masterpieces but they feel like two great separate masterpieces. I don't know if that makes sense, anyway that score could probably bring an MMA fighter to tears so they could have given him the award anyway

One of the best movies I’ve seen and the music DEFINITELY plays into it. I recently remembered I could’ve seen Hans Zimmer‘s Music being played live in Cologne some time ago and I’m sad I didn’t know about that back then.
The music helps set the tone so beautiful. The score makes it so you feel exactly what your supposed to
my favorite movie and the music is possibly better than the story itself.
The same thing with the music score he makes for games. Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 made the game so much more intense and you got the feel of being in a role af a great story!

All of his scores are literally to most all of my favorite films. Makes me think what did I like about those films? How much of my like of films was Zimmer's scoring?! Also, those horns in Inception. Epic!
Exactly!!! Me too. Even as a kid when I heard lion king and pirates of the Caribbean I was drawn to the music and I’m 27 now and still the movies that make an emotional impact are still the movies that Hans zimmer worked on. Currently Dune is my new obsession and of course….Hans zimmer!!

He holds so much love for music that he will do anything to convey every human emotion through it. The fact he remembers so deeply about the scores he composed moved me to tears.
Him writing the piece for Lion King so "dad can show off" to his daughter is surprisingly the sweetest dad thing ever.
Edit: Simba loses his dad, Hans loses his dad. Now we all understand why Mufasa's death scene was so profound and moving. The piece directly reflects Hans' pure emotions. Man, am I glad I clicked on the video.

Phillip Glass definitely inspired the main organ theme with Koyaanisqatsi however there is much more to the entire Interstellar suite. Theres soaring angelic violin sections and quiet piano riffs. All of the main melodies are so iconic too, like they're classics that have existed for decades. Its his most complete and fully realised score imo.
