The flute is usually harder to get a sound out of than other instruments because you don’t blow into a mouth piece But across a hole in the head joint, then we get into tone, aperture and embouchure, articulation, etc.

Yeah the volume of air output is fine. It's the matter of holding embouchure to direct the air the right way to produce a sound. The reason he's blowing so hard is because so much of his air is wasted.

But of course some of those people ended up being way better anyways, while half the people that went either quit or are bad, and I fall under the category of bad.
Love how he tried to make it sound decent at the beginning but towards the end he just completely gave up and went ahead to make his own flute sounds using his voice AMAZING
i had some friends in elementary school band that once or twice pretended to play their saxophones by imitating the noise of the saxophone with their mouth at the mouthpiece

Suicide Angel Being a professional recorder player is a whole different world. I was initially trained as a concert violinist, and when I came to recorder in college, I was initially like, “Great, this is way easier ...” until I started getting to historical tonguing, non stopped sixteenth notes in Baroque sonatas, needing breath control like a whale for Bach ... and then I was like, “Oh my gosh!!!!!! This is so dang HARD!!!!!!!!!!” and being frustrated for hours on end. Ten years later, it feels like nothing, but then I went back to base zero when I decided to pick up Baroque flute. “Oh this will be just like recorder once I learn embouchure and I already played voice flute, or alto recorder in D used to play flute music ...” Bzzzzt!!! The cycle started all over again and I’m finally getting out of the woods two years later, but still ... I’m not totally out ... ;)
eddy darling, the flute is meant to be making the sound not u

Are you sure Eddy isn't a Professional? Because if this was contemporary music, his playing would've been spot on!
cameronmd80 one should put him into a contest for that 😂
i'm a violinist but i took flute lessons in middle school and the first two lessons were just "how do u make a sound on the instrument"
My first 2 lessons on flute were how to hold the head joint like you hold a freaking head joint as a professional
Me too
Took me a *long* time to figure out how to make the smallest little sound on the flute
How to hołd and how to blow
When I started playing the flute in the sixth grade there was a “class” everyone had to go to to learn how to play the summer before school, and anyone that didn’t go didn’t know how to play the flute whatsoever lol. But of course some of those people ended up being way better anyways, while half the people that went either quit or are bad, and I fall under the category of bad.
Eddy’s got some
Interesting
Flute techniques going on.
He sounds like he’s tryna blow the steam off some hot noodles
His embouchure.....
Actually hurts. (Disclaimer: I do play flute.)
Painful yes
His embouchure makes me so very sad.
Haha yes! I play Baroque flute, which has an even smaller embouchure hole than modern flute, and man ... if he pulled that off on Baroque flute ....
Luckily she is (correction: was) eddy’s GF.
I am NOT playing a flute filled with some random guy’s spit.
It's not spit, it's CondEnsATIon.
Jason Lucas it’s not like the spit is going on you, I do it sometimes it’s not a big deal lmao
I play flute but in our sections trumpets and French horn sit next to each other and sometimes swap instruments. Not all of the do it just like 6
XD
WAIT SHE IS EDDY'S GF?
Love how he tried to make it sound decent at the beginning but towards the end he just completely gave up and went ahead to make his own flute sounds using his voice AMAZING
i had some friends in elementary school band that once or twice pretended to play their saxophones by imitating the noise of the saxophone with their mouth at the mouthpiece
As a student flutist who could only manage a decent sound for music covers a year ago, I can relate to both her try-not-to-laugh struggle and his attempt to make a sound haha -- (during my first flute recital my sound completely disappeared!)
It is so helpful that the video mentions who's the beginner and who's the pro.
well they mixed it up because eddy is the pro, at beatboxing at least
@Channel Name Just on music channels, food channels, and warrior cat channels. Not all over yt
Who here is a flute player 👍
Edit: wow I have so many likes😂
Quite sure everyone who watched the video is
It's my job ! 👍

Would a bamboo flute count?
@@fivezeroniner yeh
I bet Eddy’s girlfriend is embarrassed that she has a boyfriend that doesn’t have any idea of how to play the flute
Edwina is bae
Nah, I'm pretty sure he could if he tried, he was just goofing around... 😅
@Sirin Ucan They were. They may or may not still be.
When are you guys finally going to make Professional vs Beginner Viola?
weasel
IKR SERIOUSLY
weasel What do you mean they sound the same
Stephanie Boyd No u
Except the professional viola is eddy and beginner viola is an actual viola player
what’s the difference?
if he does pro vs beginner trombones im going to cry
3:00 the rest of the band listening to the flute learn a new, higher note
Emily Morris true lol
LOLLOL
True
It's even worse when a piccolo player learns a new note!
such a mood
Brilliant. I just started the flute a week ago and it's really like that he isn't faking anything. Tears of laughter. The pro trying to keep a straight face was really good too!
When Ling Ling was a baby he had a violin attached to his umbilical cord.
kat excuse me good sir, Ling Ling is the creator of all and is therefore immortal.
ling ling was always alive and always will be alive
the fans are truly creating some good lore for ling ling

A moment of silence for anyone who says: "FluTe iS aN eAsY iNsTrUmEnt" (besides its players)
Can't believe he didn't pass out!
You need so much air, I'm currently learning a difficult piece and when I play it all the way through I have to stop afterwards to breath so I'm no longer light headed.
at least he's learning new intruments
Can we really call this "learning" ? XD
The Lil' Kitten *trying
When Eddy started to make kongfu sounds, she had to press her mouth and chest
aida bach what part?
@@jinseulpark5618 I think she's talking about 5:25
Got to give it to Eddie's gf for letting him 'play' (spit into) her flute also their faces listening to the other play 😂😂😂😂😂
@Sirin Ucan No I just saw other people in the comments saying they were so I assumed they knew better than I did
The saddest part is that Eddy knows so much extended flute technique. Like beatboxing.
@ Jas Yu Eddy skipped all that boring basic stuff and went straight to extended techniques. He managed to squeak some harmonics and lots of aeolians.
It was like listening to Ian Clarke, sort of.
Haha the flautist’s face is everything 😂
Aynsley Oller she plays the flute not the flaut
MyersEpicTv 15 true dat however: flautist. a person who plays the flute See related entries: People in the music world Word Origin. (superseding 17th-cent. flutist in British English use): from Italian flautista, from flauto 'flute'.
Aynsley Oller but we are in the 21st century and not the 17th century
But this is your destination
MyersEpicTv 15 thou art an clotpole, many 17th century words art still in useth the present day. For example, Barista for coffee maker. Now doth thee understandeth, theewith no more brain than stone luxurious mountain goat.
And yes, I am mocking you with Shakespearian language.
that flute is getting aBuSeD
As a flute player ( not a professional one though I’m only in 8th grade ) you both play very well
I used to date a flutist. She showed me how to blow over the hole and say "two". I didn't do much better than Eddy. It's really hard to get a decent note out of a flute. She makes it look so easy and sound so beautiful. Much respect!
eddy: "let me just blow bc thats what a woodwind player do"
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Lmao i actually thought eddy was going to do okay at first, but right when he started, I started laughing
Officer:- Yes ma'am
Flute:- Yeah, I want to file a harassment case against Eddy Chen.
Shes trying so hard not to laugh 😂 😂😂👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Da Wae and failing
Tokyo ghoul pic?! Watching twoset?! Who are you!?!😂
Who I am do you ask? Well here’s the answer: A Humane human who looks human and is human
I play the flute. I feel bad for flute that was played by Eddy
Same the entire video I was like
"That poor flute"
*EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!!*
Mochi the Panda Bear Same 😂
Her: *plays music from heaven*
Me: *only plays recorder but thinks I do decent*
Him: *Buh buh buh, buh buh, buh*
I’m not totally out ... ;)
Dude the bush buh buh buh had me dying lol
This is why you don't give a beginner an open-keyed flute
REALLY LMAO
