@@ГенадийПетров-в4ю this video was largely inaccurate, skewed (likely unintentionally) by pro-Armenian propaganda.
It was Stalin who drew the borders this way, and he did so intentionally, in order to keep the republics divided, and depending on the USSR for mediation and therefore never seeking independence.
Just look at a map, the borders make no sense. Furthermore, Armenia broke peace agreements by stationing military units and equipment in the contested regions.
Also; even though it's in the past; the Armenian Genocide is still a key factor in both countries and their international relations. So many Azerbaijanis were exterminated in order maintain this strange population distribution.
The real question is: whether any war is truly justified after looking at the aftermath. However, if there ever was one that was at the very least inevitable; it was this one.
I wish there was a more peaceful solution. But there simply was not. Imo, Azerbaijan was 30yrs late in doing what they were always going to do eventually anyways.

@@hehe-ls8hq That is a categorically dumb statement. Armenia is geopolitically broadly tied with Iran. Azerbaijan is a geopolitical rival of Iran, and an ally of Israel.
There is a ton of fake news about both countries, like this idea that Armenia is some kinda peaceful "christian" democracy or something; and it's easy to believe since Azerbijan is a Muslim majority nation. However; it's just propaganda.
Azerbaijan is, at least in foreign policy; separated from the middle east. And Armenia has a history of ethnic genocide, and is currently aligned with Russia/Iran.
I find it hard to identify many proverbial "good guys" in international conflicts. However, Armenia is certainly the worse country here; unless of course you are a fan of the pro-Iranian totalitarianism fascist alliance developing between Russia/Iran/China/Turkey.

I also lived in Nagorno-Karabakh.After the blockade, some Russian peacekeepers transported Armenians to Armenia.At that time, many Armenians had their cars shot by Azerbaijani fighter jets.

Azerbaijan is actually secular country. We are not formal muslim country like you imagine or compare to arabic or asian countries. Religion is separated from constitution and you can notice christians,jews and muslims praying together here. We also have a lot of jews and jewish communities here, which they were the survivors of Holocaust moved here , they were greeted, given shelter and food by our people. That's why we respect each other

Nice video, but there are a few graphical mistakes in the infographics. For instance, at 7:10, it shows Armenian territory shooting at Armenian-controlled Nagorno-Karabakh, not at Azerbaijani territory. The Armenians would be fighting themselves according to the infographics. Additionally, the blue space between the two sides was controlled by Armenian Artsakh at the time because they controlled not only the Nagorno-Karabakh region itself but also some territory from other neighboring regions, which is not correctly shown. 🤓

Armenia occupied 20% of Azerbaijani land and wanted to unite it with Armenia. Early 1990th Armenians displaced about 1m Azerbaijanis from this land by killing, raping people. Many barely survived. During 30 years of occupation Armenians destroyed the land-burned, took to the ground all the historical architecture. Azerbaijan waited for 30 years asking Armenia to leave Azerbaijani land but they wouldn’t. Azerbaijan didn’t have any other option but use the military forces against the Armenian military groups to de occupied their own territory. Armenia has stolen everything from the region and illegally used the natural resources. Before Armenians left the region they mined the land.

1) During the Khojaly massacre 500+ Azeris were killed and not over a million (even the combined population of Armenians and Azeris in Artsakh/ Karabkh wasn't even close to 1 million)
2) During the 1990s Artsakhs/ Nagorno Karabakhs 75% of the population was Armenian
3) You mentioned what we did to the Azeris yet didnt say a thing about the Baku program (which happened before Khojaly) during which hundreds if not thousands of Armenians all over Azerbaijan were being killed and tortured

The only reason the Azeri government is able to get away with this bullcrap is bcuz of the OIL. There is not benefit in helping broke Armenia out

Have heard about this on major media.

In short there is an Armenian population in the region but Azerbaijan has control over it which made Armenia upset so the wars have started but the Ukraine war made the media not focus on this region there you go save 12 minutes of your time

Let me tell you something Al-Jazeera posted a video saying Armenian border guards fired at Azerbaijani soldiers for raising their flag for no reason but they did't tell were they raised the Azerbaijani flag - Inside Armenian Teritory.

Unfortunately too much oversimplification. Also the author fails to convey a lot of information. Although the events till the first Nagorno Karabagh war 1991-94 are correct. You left out the essential part that Armenia won the war and took control of Nagorno Karabagh, but not just that Armenia also took surrounding Azerbaijani territory. In fact Armenia occupied 20% of total Azeri land. When the ceasefire was brokered by Russia, the conflict went cold with Armenia controlling a large chunk of Azerbaijan.
Fast forward 2019, Azerbaijan attacked and took back most of the land. While the war was on Azeri territory no one bothered with the peace, but as Azerbaijan drove to the actual Armenian border and were driving up to Spatenakert, Russia stepped in. As per the agreement that ended the war, Nagorno Karabagh was surrendered to Azerbaijan, (would retain independence for the next 5 years, afterwards the both parties will discuss further), a land route to Nakhchivan would be provided to Azerbaijan and a land route to NK would be provided to Armenia, which would be under Russian Peacekeepers control for the next 5 years.
Since we are in 2024, the 5 years are about to come to an end, so the new hostilities have started as both parties can see the writing on the wall.
Also note, in 2019, Russia, France, Europe and Iran Supported Armenia, while Turkey and Israel supported Azerbaijan.
As a neighbor of both countries i can tell you, Armenia isn't the victim here. And no it's not a religious genocide, us Georgians are christian and never had a problem with Azerbaijan

Stalin designed the borders and distributed the populations this way intentionally. It was an effort to keep the people divided so that the republics will always depend on the USSR and not seek independence.
Moscow did NOT seek logical borders.

3:55 wasn’t the whole lachin corridor ceasefire deal where Russian troops would act as peace keepers because of the 2nd nagorno karabakh war of 2020’s aftermath, and not Azerbaijan’s offensive to take Stepanakert in 2023?

In the past, Karabakh was known as a Kurdish country and was called "Kurdistana Sur," which means "Red Kurdistan."
Hate to point this out but Iran hates Azerbaijan for ethnic reasons. Russia doesn't hate them at all. Azeris are a major ethnic group in Iran and Azerbaijan is also Shia Azeri. This means that the Azeris right across the border have ethnic and linguistic ties to an independent shia state vs that of Iran. This is why Iran supports Armenia as it would put at risk them to ethnic fractures. Russia is actually friendly with Azerbaijan, yet has a defensive alliance with Armenia. This means no CSTO member is to deploy troops to a war unless the side is defending themselves. This is why Kazakhstan never joined in the Ukraine war, and why Russia let Armenia fight the Azerbaijan-Artsakh War.

The Azeri government wasn't gonna let them do that so they began suppressing the Armenians in there. Then the Baku program was created bcuz of which hundreds of Armenians all over Azerbaijan were being tortured and killed. That's when we started forcing Azeris out and later stepped in to liberate Artsakh/ Karabakh

I am Israel supporter but this breaks my heart, Armenia being mixed in the worst crowd on side with Iran and Russia who aren't only tyrannies but also unreliable double-crossers. My guts say Israel should cut ties with Azerbaijan and start supporting Armenia but practicality far outweighs morality here. Azerbaijan's resources, as well as its vast border with Iran makes it an invaluable ally to Israel, even if they have to betray and abandon Armenia like everyone else does.

Moreover, in 2020, Armenia frequently violated the ceasefire, escalating the situation. In response, after 30 years, Azerbaijan launched counter-offensive operations to liberate its territories, which are officially recognized by the UN and were under occupation. Azerbaijan successfully regained control of its lands. The Armenian population living in Nagorno-Karabakh was offered the opportunity to become Azerbaijani citizens. They voluntarily chose to move to Armenia.
Additionally, because Armenians were illegally transporting weapons through the Lachin corridor, Azerbaijan established a border checkpoint on the corridor. However, Azerbaijan ensured that civilian movement across the border was not restricted and allowed free passage for civilians on both sides.
