Venezuela is yet again in the news for a potential rigged election. Nicolás Maduro won the July 28th 2024 election, up against the opposition party's candidate, Edmundo González. Many countries have been denouncing these election results, and have been calling for Maduro and his party to publicly release their election's data.

- Constitutional draft to de jure one-party state
- Sealing all borders, using the pretext of a “brain drain”

The CNE gave the following results: Maduro (5,150,092 votes, 51.20%), González (4,445,978 votes, 44.2%), and others (462,704 votes, 4.6%)
But...
If we add up all the votes we get: 10,058,774 votes
If we try to calculate the percentages manually, we would have the following:
5,150,092 / 10,058,774 = 51.199997... practically 51.2 to the fifth decimal digit
4,445,978 / 10,058,774 = 44.199998... practically 44.2 to the fifth decimal digit
462,704 / 10,058,774 = 4.600003... practically 4.6 to the fifth decimal digit
How likely is that to happen unless they have calculated the vote totals for each candidate based on percentages and not the other way around as it should be? (percentages based on the vote totals for each candidate)
