Hey guys! Follow along to see how I restore and refinish this old vintage orange wood tallboy that I got off of Facebook Marketplace. See how we prep the furniture, remove the existing finish using chemical stripper, and almost ruin the whole thing, but eventually fix it with walnut gel stain. Great Job. I like how the gel stain on top of the paint wash deepened the color but allowed wood grain to show through. The top coat really made it pop.

Absolutely gorgeous I loved it exactly as it was at 9.03... but ... things do look different on camera than they do in real life, and I knew we weren't seeing what you were... but wow... and! Im betting its mahogany!! very sturdy beautiful wood, and worth a pretty penny... I have a Mahogany or teak curb find waiting for me... You kids do have an excellent eye for buying project pieces ,and for redoing them... you two are an amazing team...

The wood on the sides, top, and drawer faces looks like walnut to me. You effectively modernized this piece. Excellent profit!
Oh well I guess I’m stupid 😅 I’ve worked with walnut quite a bit but this one was a lot lighter when raw with weirder grain. Thanks Amy!

Yes! I’ve been getting differing opinions , the pores and grain of the wood were quite deep, similar to how deep oak grain goes. I’m working on a walnut piece right now and it is much darker and the pores are much finer. Thank you!
